I uploaded my original U.S. version /cust folder. I took it from the nandroid backup I did before flashing the Chinese ROM.

/cust/special_cust/BTV-W09/hw/usa/system/etc/cfg_btv_wifi_only_hisi.ini
This worked great, thank you! :good:Found it on the US tablet!
Using Root Explorer I went to /cust_spec/system/etc/cfg_btv_wifi_only_hisi.ini
band_5g_enable=0 change it to band_5g_enable=1
Then restarted and I could see and connect to my 5Ghz network.
So far it seems to work fine but we are talking minutes since I got it changed.

Reading to the end is even required for this forum rules'Wish I read this thread to the end instead of installing the Chinese version.
Search this sub-forum and read...The Chinese version didn't have the Play Store and while I managed to install it via the gapps project, it still has issues. Is there a way to get the US version back?
Does anyone have a clean backup (One without your personal info, files, etc) I could use?
Thanks.
Thanks. You really helped.Reading to the end is even required for this forum rules'

Did you root first to enable this? or did you just connect with the recovery and it was still enabled after you restored?Just a quick note - after running the stock Huawei recovery, the 5Ghz band was still enabled on my US version of the M3.
I rooted first to enable the 5Ghz band, and it was still enabled after I had run the stock recovery.Did you root first to enable this? or did you just connect with the recovery and it was still enabled after you restored?
