Anyone cancelling/returning their Note 8 in favour of the iPhone X?

The iris unlock is pure crap, Face ID will be so much better not having to stare at the phone from the exact distant required cursing the damn phone for not unlocking. Is it like comparing Apple to oranges
Hell will freeze over first before I opt for an iPhone over a Samsung Note.
I'm not really an "iPhone" person to begin with but I expected better from apple. it's the ugliest iPhone ive ever seen. the iphone7 plus looked pretty goof IMO and the X as far as aesthetics is a HUGE step back. The rear camera is just ugly with the huge bump and being vertical, the bezels do not look premium, overall shape looks just wrong and cheap. It just looks like a toy phone I would buy for my 4 year old.
Now the camera specs and results looks pretty decent but aside from that I would feel stupid walking around with that ugly ass phone. I would rather have a regular iphone8 plus or a 7 plus.

60FPS UHD is nice but can the video be improved over the 7+? I have the 7+ and its video quality is pure crap in the real world of loud sounds. And mono 48kHz audio = major fail.
I don't know, I'll probably get the 256GB X anyway.
And demo'ing snapchat masks at a keynote? Really, Apple?
First phone to address the vertical video issue is a winner in my book! I mean, really there's plenty of real estate on the sensors to allow unidirectional recording and to ALWAYS have a proper, horizontal video. And it would train these idiots the CORRECT way to hold their phone when they see the huge black bars above and below the video while holding the phone vertically...

Am I the only one who sees those side bezels and thinks that they are actually large by todays side bezel std?
Me too. I keep hearing about the bezeless X but I can clearly see black bezels all the way around that device? Odd.

I'll keep my note 8 and 7 plus. The only thing that was slightly interesting to me is the 4k/60fps.
I'm a big android fan and bought the orginal note and first reaction at the office was what the heck is that. Thats massive, boy times have changed.
In 2017 smartphones are taking big leaps and strides and apple has really bought out a brilliant phone this year. A real game changer and the rest of the smartphone world will look in envy. How can anyone be dissappointed in the edge to edge screen, outdid samsung, essential phone, xiaomi.
Apple have nailed it this year with fantastic camera speakers screen design, the only dissppointment is the price. There's no other way to put its a rip off.
Mind you samsung aren't far behind so really comes to personal preference. for me if iphone x was available next week i would choose that over note 8 as it suits me better but as it stands im waiting for my note 8 to be delivered.

My iris works 99% of the time and works in the dark also.
And you can compare apples to oranges. Cars to truck. Books to movies etc..

Open source always I've had every Note except the 5 just because no expandable memory,loved my S8+ but gotta stick to my Note hands down never let me down even the 3 note 7s i had and had to give back due to recall.
Does it still run that tired old iOS interface? Yes?

Edgeto edge from all corners not just sides.
Build quality is impressive on both but iphone just has that edge, no punt intended.
Don't get me wrong both are fantastic phones but for my personal preference it has to be iphone. I don't have much use for s pen but better speakers and apple os is more practical for me. Apple ui is more refined and complete whereas tw seems more disjointed and not as fluid.
If Samsung could sort out ui and speakers then it would be very difficult to beat.

Also the iPhone X doesn't even have a full display making it impossible to watch landscape videos or play games on full screen lol its corners look like it's got an ottebrox case on it. It's missing any real biometric system other than the facial recognition which mark my words will be problematic for consumers in the long run. Yet here you are giving it a "tick" in your lil tick cycle theory lol you must be easily impressed and you're the kind of consumer Apple preys upon. Good job making them look good

The more you speak the more you sound like someone with an Xtra chromosome. The two devices aren't even comparable at this point. Only sheep who have been mesmerized by iOS & charmed by thievery of Apple are drooling over Apple's new garbage. Anyone with multiple brain cells knows that you get the best bang for your buck from S8 or Note 8.
I understand you prefer samsung thats personal preference just as i prefer x. Both are good it's what features on suit you better
