Lol at you

Lol you call making a device that looks exactly the same as the previous device with no real improvement other than internal changes a "tick" hahaha. Tell me again how revolutionary are the iPhones 8 & 8+

Also the iPhone X doesn't even have a full display making it impossible to watch landscape videos or play games on full screen lol its corners look like it's got an ottebrox case on it. It's missing any real biometric system other than the facial recognition which mark my words will be problematic for consumers in the long run. Yet here you are giving it a "tick" in your lil tick cycle theory lol you must be easily impressed and you're the kind of consumer Apple preys upon. Good job making them look good

The more you speak the more you sound like someone with an Xtra chromosome. The two devices aren't even comparable at this point. Only sheep who have been mesmerized by iOS & charmed by thievery of Apple are drooling over Apple's new garbage. Anyone with multiple brain cells knows that you get the best bang for your buck from S8 or Note 8.
Tiresome contribution. All assertion and insult. No substance.

People talk about the note 8 being so expensive. Just take a look at three note 7. Our was only a hundred bucks cheaper than these note 8.

With the animate your own emojis. Looks like they are marketing towards kids and college aged girls. Apple is suffering. These X is basically a note 8 clone without the pen. I'm sure next year the next iPhone will have an ipen lol

I thought I would jump to it just for fun (Tmobile) as I'm a JoD customer but after seeing the announcements... I'm not sure I even want it for the required 30 days before I can jump off of it. I was going to try to objectively review it but it looks to be a disappointment before I can even get my hands on it.

I'm very tempted where it not for the long wait.

Apple just does everything that much better then everyone else.
Love the ui and speakers. 2 things which annoy me the most about samsung, poor speakers and laggy ui.

That edge to edge design kills note 8 design.
The first time apple have impressed me with their iphone x.
The edge-to-edge design "kills Note 8 design?!" WTF?

So, you prefer a smaller display with larger bezels, a lower screen-to-body ratio, and a display with a lower resolution and pixel density? OK... You can have it.

Agreed. I am not Apple fan boy, last device I owned was a 4s iphone lol. The X does look sweet . But the 8 is nice for folks that like a home button.

I'm sticking with my Note 8 order: The S-Pen and screen size are clinchers for me.

But following today's Apple event and for the first time in five or six years, I can foresee a day I'll go back to iPhones.
The X looks pretty damn special. Anyone tempted?
F No. The iPhone X looks like trash. It's not even bezeless even though they say it is.

I'm not at all tempted and am very much looking forward to Saturday when I get my Note, but for those that are complaining about the $1000 price tag on the thing, am I missing something? The Note 8 is very close to $1000. If it wasn't for the Best Buy $150 off, I'd have spent $949. So only $51 more than the Note 8. When you're spending this kind of money, $50 isn't that much of a consideration. And if you're talking going to 256GB, it becomes more cost effective.

That animoji crap is a total turnoff. I mean if I were 30 years younger, I'd probably be all giddy about it. But being an adult...? WTF is Apple thinking of by hyping it? Sure, add it. But to make it a selling point really shows to whom they're gearing their products.

Its called scraping at the bottom of the proverbial barrell in respect to their emoji facial recognition software. A few years ago, this feature would not even got mentioned, ran out of ideas I guess, as have Samsoog with the Note 8, nothing great here either, except for the price.

Edgeto edge from all corners not just sides.
Build quality is impressive on both but iphone just has that edge, no punt intended.
Don't get me wrong both are fantastic phones but for my personal preference it has to be iphone. I don't have much use for s pen but better speakers and apple os is more practical for me. Apple ui is more refined and complete whereas tw seems more disjointed and not as fluid.
If Samsung could sort out ui and speakers then it would be very difficult to beat.
Then simply say you love ios and be real. Essential phone showed and released before the iPhone x, and they both have that ugly awkward cutout at the top.

No I don't love iOS, I just prefer it over tw. IOS 11 is pretty good it's clean, light and flat. For the very same reasons I prefer stock android over ya and any other android ui.
I'm currently using lg v20 as a daily driver so I'm not apple fanboy nor a Sammyboy but a tech junkie.

Can we put away all the apps thats on screen of these iphones away? Can I download nova launcher? Can I watch bootlegs? Can I get substratum type of themes? Can I get xda developed type of themes?

Can I put zooper type widgets on any home screen? What about icon packs can I change those ugly iOS icons? What about fonts can I change fonts to Old English to where Im the only one that understand what the hell I'm reading?

What about DPI can I change the DPI of the iPhone screen? Can I rub the top of my head and my belly at the same time while I'm hopping on one leg? sure why not but what I really want to know is can I get viper4android so the sound quality through my headphones just sound better and louder?

What about dark themes for all third-party apps can we do this on an iPhone? If we can do all this then hey iPhone that sounds very interesting but something in the back of my head just makes me doubt it 80 something dollars for fast wireless charging that's already built into the phone that doesn't make any sense

Please tell me how the horrible iphone screen kills the note 8 design..
the gap sensor on the screen crops content and the borders are made of stainless steel that scratches very easy. It has very low nits of brightness and we don't know if that screen is gorilla 5 or something stronger than that, The screen is made by Samsung fyi.

If you could read it did not fail :)
The only reason there is such a huge push to make face id seem new is because they failed to get the finger print sensor behind the screen. So now they settle for a half measure with a "we meant to do this" statement.

Frankly my Iris lock works fine, voice unlock works fine, face unlock works fine.

You know what I can't get around. Not being able to manage my device like a computer. Needing iTunes to perform functions, not being able to install the apps I want from where I want, not having choices to theme my device. NOT HAVING THE PEN I PURCHASED THIS DAMN PHONE FOR.

Frankly your money is your money no one needs to quantify why they buy what they want. If you want an iPhone go get one but an Android forum on XDA is the last place to have this debate because it will go no where

Not to mention you shouldn't believe everything a company feeds you in light of bad press. Antenna-gate anyone? Oh we didn't implement a bad design, you are holding your phone wrong.

Being a fanboy is counter productive to the advancement of tech. Buy what you want and screw other people's opinions of what you want/can afford.

The iPhone X looks like it's going to make IOS 11 hum sweet music. The fact that you can uninstall/disable loaded apps and now they are allowing the control center (which I wish was on Android Devices by default tbh) to be more customizable , tells me that the statue of Jobs is being slowly chipped away.. Not to mention they actually are going to have a file folder now.. I don't love everything they do like ignore real issues when something starts becoming an issue with their phones such as searching for service or the touch disease. And the scope of this question is no, I won't be returning my Note 8.
