Anyone cancelling/returning their Note 8 in favour of the iPhone X?

I've always loved iPhones and have had a ton of them over the years as supplemental devices to my primary Androids. I grew bored of them after the 6, and haven't owned one since. A big part of that is that I don't game as much as I used to so the draw of the app store isn't really there for me anymore. Plus, iOS needs a pretty radical redesign, IMO. The X is neat, but I personally think it's not the prettiest design they could have come up with. I'm a huge Note fan and as long as Samsung keeps making them, I'll keep buying them. Everything else is just a fancy phone, whereas to me, the Note is a legit productivity device. It's not even in the same category as anything else. So no, I will not be buying the iPhone X.

Its not out for 2 months. I will have already gone through the Note 8, V30, Pixel 2 and Mate 10 by then.....

But it does look great.... Doesn't really do anything the Note doesn't do, perhaps more elegantly in some parts, and the same on others... But that is always Apple. Except the stereo speakers. I had that on the iphone 76 plus and its really a nice thing to have...
4k 60fps, 1080p 240fps, various things using the dot mapping camera (better facial unlock, portrait lighting, probably better portrait mode on the front camera), lots more GPU hardware accelerated apps (which is why video encoding is something like 4 times faster than on the Note 8)

I'm still skipping it in favour of the wonderful Note 8.

If your into cameras that much. Buy a damn camera.
Fresh air. Bloody well said!

I read a Youtube clip by R-I-C-K-Y the Youtube tech guy, who I cannot tolerate, and the chap was saying that the next Note should have three cameras on the back, one for zoom, one 'normal' and one telephoto?!
I thought exactly like you. Why the heck does't he go buy a camera. Then he said he has one? Are we buying a camera with the addition of a phone or a phone with the addition of a camera?

I understand the Note is a niche device and aimed at productivity but if one is into camera shots to that depth I sincerely think one needs to use a dedicated camera?

This thread is like a movie villain, doesn't want to die natural death, but to clear some things: I think Exynos can support 4k at 120Hz, it's a damn Qualcom that didn't update video encoder since 2013, year I bought my Note3, capable of 4k/30. If you want portraits and good camera, then get good camera, there is no way iphone can compete with good camera, if you know what you're doing. I also don't think iphone cam will be superior to N8, probably similar, with some things better, some things worse. I'm still trying to figure what to do with 720/240 Hz, learn how to play golf? but I don't want to play golf, so not sure what would I do with iphone;s 1080/240Hz either. BTW didn't Apple said 4k video is gimmick, back when Samsung introduced it on Note3? Finally, if you're buying Apple's iphone X, welcome to Samsung amoled screen. And you thought you're buying Apple, but in reality you're still getting partially Samsung build phone.
