The inside of the screen protectors on the OB's do look greasy after a while. There's a trick using baby powder on the inside. I had to do it with my 3gs. There are youtube videos that show you how to do it.

Seems like they only have the Defender case in the AT&T stores, but I picked up the Impact from the Otterbox website for about $15 including shipping using the coupon code: PSPNEagles04

Additionally, it seems that Amazon has some really good Otterbox prices as well, so that would be another place to order from.

Thank you so much for posting the coupon code. I went ahead and purchased a Commuter for my phone based on pervious experience with my iPhone 4. Can't wait to receive it and return this bulky Defender series. ;)

Picked up my Atrix today and got the OB Defender with it. I like the heft and protection of it, honestly. The only thing I wish is that the screen protector that is part of the polycarbonate shell wasn't so prone to grease marks. Looks like crap and I've had it less than 8 hours.
I haven't had this problem with mine in the last 2 days, maybe u got greasy fingers? ;)

I bought the Defender the day before the phone came out, had it in for about 4 days. It's nice and you feel like you're holding a tank, but the bulkiness made it impossible to fit into my pants pocket and was really hard to slide in and out of pockets. I got one of the Body Glove gel cases yesterday and it makes the phone so much smaller and smoother to move around in my pocket and/or hold. Might just have to save the Defenser for when I go hiking and stuff.

OtterBox defender cases are available for he Atirx at the AT&T store.
I upgraded my son to the Attrix and the Otterbox Tuesday, the day it came out.

The downside to the otterbox (and most other cases too) is with the case you can not use any of the docks. Please tell me if anyone has a solution.

I am thinking this "carbon-fiber" idea might be good protection and still allow docking. Any thoughts?

I picked up an OB Defender from AT&T on launch day... I'm getting used to wearing the belt clip... Frankly, I just want to keep this phone in ultra-mint condition so I can sell it for a good price once the Galaxy S II drops. ;) Really not a fan of how all of this Atrix business is going down between Motorola and AT&T's shadiness.

I'm a klutz though and I don't want some silly move I make costing me $100 in resale :D

I had bought the Defender series the day I bought the phone because I liked the durability of it and I like to use the belt clip. had it on for 3 days and just decided that A) Its too freakin big. Like ridiculously big compared to the size of the naked phone. B) I felt like the screen protector not only made the beautiful screen on this thing look like crap, but it wasn't as sensitive and I made a lot of typing mistakes with it on. I returned it and I plan on getting the Ghost Armor full body kit cause they have a kiosk in the all by me and I've used their product on my iPod touch and it is awesome. So I'll just use the Ghost Armor to protect it from scratches and use an old leather belt holster that I had from an old phone that happened to fit perfectly.

i had to return my defender case cause if I took a picture with the flash on, it would reflect off the edge and put a blob of light on the lower right corner of the picture

I picked up a gel Body Glove case for my Atrix yesterday...it was slipping out my hands too easily.

Its looks great, and the phone feels better with it on. My friend couldnt even tell it was a case at first.

I like the look and characteristics of the Body Glove Mirage. Based on youtube videos that demonstrate the BG Mirage, the Incipio Feather, and the Otterbox cases on other phones, I suspect I'll prefer a flexible TPU case like the BGM over a hard polycarbonate case like the Feather or a spongy bulkly nerf armor case like the Defender or Commuter.

I think a TPU case will afford better grip. I've already had the slippery Atrix slip out of my hand and land on the floor once. I managed to cushion the impact with my toe, so there was no damage, but it confirmed to me the need for a case of some sort. I won't blame the phone entirely for my own clumsiness, but I'm sure this phone will not survive long if I don't get a grippier case for it.

As yet, I have no experience with cases of any of these types. All of my phones up to now have been flip phones, and I have usually opted for a leather belt clip case. I've never even seen or touched a TPU, polycarbonate, or nerf (silicone) case in person so I really don't know what they are like. I'm going to go see if my local Radio Shack has the Incipio Feather. My local AT&T store will have a BGM on Monday. As far as I can tell, there are no other brick-and-mortar retail options for Body Glove in my area. I'm not interested in the Otterbox products.

Just got a Commuter case put on my Atrix today. Definitely glad I went with it over the Defender or Impact--it feels like the right balance.

Though silicon cases provide good protection, they are absolutely terrible at picking up every thing they come into contact with (hair, dust, etc.). I put the phone into my pocket for 30 seconds and found the silicon-exposed portions completely covered in god knows what. Not only that, but cleaning it off is difficult, as the silicon is literally a magnet.

How do you find the Commuter screen protector? Does it's thickness affect typing? If you have the time, please post some pics of the case with the Atrix in it :) Thanks.

I bought the commuter on amazon for cheap. The defender looked just as good without adding bulk but i want something easily removable for swapping sim back and forth from captivate. Also, i love the X design on the commuter.

One thing I found while switching from an iPhone 3G to the Atrix was that the screen became SO much more responsive. This is my first Android phone, so I really have nothing else to compare it to (aside from my 3G), but I find the screen itself to be extremely responsive. After putting the screen protector that came with my Commuter on, I still find the screen's responsiveness to be amazing--far better than my old iPhone 3G. Now, I don't know if it's just my imagination or not, but I would like to believe that I do notice a slight decrease in sensitivity. Either way, I still find the Atrix's responsiveness to be amazing. Even with the screen protector on, I can literally hover my finger just above the screen and it will still register.

Now, I have noticed that the space bar seems to be the least responsive part of the screen while typing. It too may have gotten slightly worse with the screen protector, but I noticed issues with it beforehand. (Anyone else have this problem?)

As I haven't hit the magic number yet to properly insert links/images (the recent Atrix launch brought me here), below are the direct links to some pictures I snapped this morning with the case on. Sorry that they're not the greatest! You can clearly see the lint-magnet properties in action too :p.

i19.photobucket.com/albums/b178/davethemage/Public/IMG_0123Large.jpg (USB/HDMI)

The volume buttons are securely inside of the cover, whereas the USB/HDMI can (obviously) be opened to allow access to the ports. There is also a cover located over the headphone jack. The USB/HDMI covers don't fit as snugly as the cover over the headphone jack.
