The G3 had a monitoring/spying service called "MLT" that kept track of your searches/browsing/etc. Has anyone noticed a similar service on the G5? I haven't yet.
G5 doesn't have connections optimizer. My brother has had a G3 for quite a while now, and the only thing he complained about was the Sprint Connection Optimizer, it appears that it uses data for something (who knows what) and also limits your connectivity options at times. He's managed to sandbox it without rooting his phone but I'm not sure how.
I'm getting the G5 tomorrow, and I'll report back anything I find, but I would at least expect the Sprint Connection Optimizer to still be doing it's same crap.
Sweet, Sprint actually didn't honor the deal they offered me over the phone so it looks like it will be another month before I have the G5, but it's good to know that it doesn't have that.G5 doesn't have connections optimizer.
sent from my g5
In case you haven't gotten it, yet, the G5 is available at Best Buy for $120 (installment plan of $5/month, but you can pay off without penalty and own the phone right away). Oh I got it back when I said I would, it is by far the worst phone I've ever had and I'm not likely to buy an LG device ever again. At this point I'm considering breaking my contract with sprint just to get a different phone somewhere else.In case you haven't gotten it, yet, the G5 is available at Best Buy for $120 (installment plan of $5/month, but you can pay off without penalty and own the phone right away). Slickdeals thread here.
I ordered two online Friday evening and picked them up at my local Best Buy on Saturday. They each come with an accessory bundle that includes an extra battery and cradle. Also, TMO and others are accepting the G5 at full trade for S7 and iPhone 7.
Sorry to hear about that...I've had it for 2 days and seems fine now, but we'll see. I'm kinda counting on the hardware and gps failure to warranty out to a G6 later this year, lols.Oh I got it back when I said I would, it is by far the worst phone I've ever had and I'm not likely to buy an LG device ever again. What, specifically, did you not like about the G5?
I don't know if the GPS is a warranty issue or not as of yet. But you can certainly contact Sprint and/or LG about it. Apparently, uninstalling and reinstalling the battery loosens the GPS antenna....vids all over youtube on how to fix it if you want the hassle.Wait, have other people started having issues with the GPS? When it first failed for me I couldn't find anything on it. It also randomly doesn't send texts, loses internet connection on wifi and cellular, crashes, won't recognize my finger print, and gets very hot and the battery is already on its way out.
All in all horrible phone, if the GPS is something I can warranty I will, I hadn't hoping that a root would be out soon and that would fix everything, but so far no root either.
Just tried the fix, still isn't working correctly. I forgot to add that the camera glass spontaneously shattered one day, I've replaced it since then, but still, something to think about with this phone.I don't know if the GPS is a warranty issue or not as of yet.
