Anyone have issues with slow wifi during Google store app updates?

Hey guys,

This is kind of an odd question. I'm having issues with wifi while updating my apps on my 3T. Anyone else seen this issue before or know what the root cause might be (or a possible solution)?

It seems to be only when updating my apps though. Otherwise, the wifi seems to be pretty fast, the speed test does about 30+ megs/s (not great but not terrible) but when I update/download any apps through the Google play store, it downloads at about 50 kb/s, so it's taking forever. With it being a new phone, I have a LOT to download as well...

What's interesting is if I put it into mobile data mode, it'll download at 300k+/s so it definitely seems to be related to that.

I've read a few forums saying it could be ISP related, others that say it could be related to v 1.3.4 (which I believe is what I'm using), etc. I thought it would be worth bouncing it off the xda community though as I've always had pretty good luck with xda.

Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same issues but on different devices and ROMs. With AOSPextended I don't have them. Don't know to what they are related though.
Had them with stock Google Apps and on third party ROMs I always use openGapps but have the problems only with some ROMs.

Would love to have an answer too.

What's interesting is I haven't even rooted it yet... Everything is stock. Overall, I love everything else about the phone so far but this 1 day setup is likely going to turn into 2-3 at this rate. If this is just the way it is for now, I can deal with it but is definitely like to know the root cause and if there's a way around it down the road. This is a pretty disappointing first experience with the phone though.

As I wrote: it hasn't something to do with the phone. Had the same experience with other Phones like my XIAOMI mi5 and Mi MIX as well as with my ZUK Z2 Pro too. It doesn't happen with some ROMs though. This lets me assume it's something within the codebase many use.

Sorry, I think my last post wasn't clear. My experience with this delay hasn't existed on previous phones but that's not to say it's a problem specific to this phone (as you said, it seems to be something that effects different phones with different ROMs). So I understand it's not necessarily a 3T problem, just a disappointing and unedited experience since I got the phone (not necessarily because of this phone).

Thanks for putting my mind at ease that this is (at least somewhat) normal!

I don't have the 3T but on my phone it helped to first set the time manually, reboot, set it back to automatic, reboot again and then it downloaded at normal speed via wifi. Don't ask me why.
