This is the one phone that made me hesitant to get the Note10+. The Project Soli radar stuff and the likely incredible camera plus 90Hz display make that phone seem like it may be special.

But alas, I use my s-pen nonstop and adore it. So this will be the phone for me (eventually, when stupid Samsung ships it).

I bought the 3XL on release and there were many bugs in the beginning. Google really made me disappointed at first.
I suspect the face unlock feature won't be great and if the rumors are true there will be no wide angle and the design of the device looks kind of dated. 90Hz is great though but so is the s-pen.

If it turns out to be good I'll get one and switch between it and the 10+.

Nah. I'm here because I already made my purchase. I loved my OG Pixel XL, still can spot the photos in my Google drive by how awesome they were but at the same time there were too many quality issues and I hated dealing with their tech support.

And it was a boring experience for me.

You are a beta tester for Google and you pay the price to be. (Always been a Nexus/Pixel user) Everything you bought the Nexus for they took away with Pixel and slapped a bigger price tag on it. Only thing you get thats "better" than other Androids is the Camera but the GCam APK does a pretty good job at making up for it. You will have better hardware and honestly One UI isnt all that bad.

I ported the same GCam apk I ran on my N8 on my N10+ and the results are even better... Can't believe it works beautifully. I mainly use it for NightMode and Photo booth. I'm sure once they tweak the GCAm apk for the 10+ the margin of improvement will be even more pronounced. My 2..

Not a single hesitation or complaint from me. Love my N10+. When I had my Note 8, I bought a Pixel 2XL and loved it. For about 2 weeks. Then it was just boring, and I missed the SPen, and kept wishing it did the things my Note did. Finally sold it for a Note 9 and never looked back. With GCam, I have no need for a Pixel.

the google phones work ok, but they often miss features of the other third party manufacturers as they are just basic stripped down android.

as for the 90hz screen, for the average user unless you are using VR the difference will likely be negligible at best, you will need to find apps and things capable of pushing 90fps and not locked at 60fps as most apps will be built to support, you are also likely to see a massive increase in battery use as the device is having to generate and place 50% more frames on the screen and the Pixel device batteries have never exactly been top class to start with. so in theory if you are using VR and staying near a charger the 90hz is likely to be an increase if your VR apps support it, but for the most case you are likely to see a battery use increase for little real world improvement.

Exaclty for the same reasons, Yes.
I grabbed the Sammy everytime on prebooking, not this time. I might still have it for separate reasons, just will not be with me as daily driver for long.

Haha, I guess I had that coming...

Do you have two phone numbers?

How do you choose what phone you use any given day?

How do you afford that and get a theoretical spouse on board with that? ?
Yes I have two lines. One was a free line from T-Mobile. It will become my daughter's line when she turns 12, but for now, it's my extra line. I use Google Voice, so switching back and forth is no biggie.

How I wound up with two phones: in the past I never bought brand new phones. I bought broke phones on eBay, fixed them, and sold them for a profit. I would save up that money and buy a phone, or just eventually keep one of the phones I fixed. I eventually worked my way up to a S7 Edge. Actually my wife and I both had S7 Edges.

Then when Samsung released the S8+, they had a buy one get one free deal. So I bought four of them. Kept two (one for me, one for my wife), sold the other two, plus my wife's S7 Edge. So our S8 Plues were basically free, and I was able to keep my S7 Edge as a backup phone.

When the Note 8 came out, I didn't immediately upgrade. But about 3 months after it was released, I snagged one off FB Marketplace for $400. Sold my S7 Edge for $225 and kept my S8+ as a backup.

Same for Note 9. Found a cheap one used, sold the S8+, kept the Note 8.

This is the first time in a few years I have been down to one phone. I sold my Note 8 for $400 and used that to buy a Galaxy Tab S4 for $400. (which I just sold today for $400, LOL). I traded my Note 9 in on my N10+, so it's also the first time in a couple years since I've had a brand new phone, and I'm preordering a Tab S6, too.

How do I get my wife on board? I upgrade her phone as well. And she knows I never pay full price for a phone. Each time I upgrade, it's usually for almost free or just a couple hundred bucks.

For example, because of me selling a phone, trading in a phone, getting some cash back on a credit card, my Note 10+ cost me $131 total. My Tab S6 will cost me about $108 total.

My wife's S10+ cost me $250. That S8+ I bought her brand new (which was basically free)...I sold it on FB Market place for $400. I then bought her a used S9+ for $400. When the S10+ was released, I traded her SO+ in for $550. And I had a $250 cash back offer on a credit card at the time too. It's all about moving money around, buying and selling, and looking for good deals.

Dropping off my N10+ at UPS this morning. Phone didn't blow my tits off like I was hoping it would. Juice is not worth the squeeze on this one, IMO. Pixel 4 may do it for me but we'll see.
