I mean, it's very relevant for people who were deciding between this and that.I think that all these discussions about pixels are out of place here, there are specific pixel forums for that, IMO

Same here, figured that was a worst case scenario.Lol...I was hesitant but bought the Note 10+ anyways.. when the Puxel 4 comes along and if I like it, I'll trade it in on it. :silly:
It's the tech that wins my heart than aesthetics to the eye.Pixel 4 XL looks dated, lots of bezel, unless the leaked pics I have seen are not accurate. If I wanted lots of bezel I'd just stick with my Note 9.
I mean, could you even tell a difference in performance from real world usage from say, the Note 9 vs the Pixel 4 XL? Doubtful if it would be enough to really tell. The Note 10 will be a tad "faster" than the Note 9, but again, not enough to really even tell. My Note 7 and Note 8 are still plenty fast - these phones are aging better than they used to IMO. Improved tech allows them to be fast and relevant for 3+ years now. It's the tech that wins my heart than eyes to the aesthetics.
Actually..
with a meaningful top bezel I'm finding it quite attractive and advanced. The attraction will reduce if the Soli chip fails to provide precision crafted performance.
Just curious... If you don't know if you needed the upgrade and wish you hadn't... Why are you in a rush to get it? It'll arrive when it arrives, right?I mean, could you even tell a difference in performance from real world usage from say, the Note 9 vs the Pixel 4 XL? On that note, I never should have tried to upgrade my wife and my Note 9's. They work fine, great really. VZ has effed up my preorder so badly on our Note 10's, and 25+ hours on the phone with them and they still can't even get the damn phones shipped. The only reason I even decided to upgrade was the good incentives on the preorder deals and the fact that my wife loves the SPen, but the Note 9 is just pretty big for her hands. And I wanted the 10+ with the ultra wide angle lens. So I thought, I will do the preorder upgrade, get my wife the smaller Note 10 which is perfect for her needs and myself the 10+. Seems like fate is telling me I never should have tried to upgrade, but without going into a longer story on why/how VZ has screwed this up so badly, I am into this about $1300 already and can't back out. The bezels on the Note 9 vs the Note 10 were one of the things I strongly considered in the upgrade decision, but I really don't mind the bezels that much to have to endure this nightmare that VZ is putting us through. Still, the Pixel 4 XL doesn't do much for me, no S Pen, really not a Note competitor IMHO, and as Pixels often are, it looks dated. I would rather stick with my Note 9 than get a Pixel 4 XL personally if it came to that choice.
Two reasons:Just curious... If you don't know if you needed the upgrade and wish you hadn't... Why are you in a rush to get it? It'll arrive when it arrives, right?
And as a data point for you... It's worth the wait! Huge upgrade over Note9 for me, and I freaking loved that phone!
I hope they give you a lot more than just what they already should owe you. Dang. That sucks! I hope you get them soon. This phone has quite the "wow" factor and I'm loving every day with it.Two reasons:
1) They already charged our card for paying off our Note 9's, but then did NOT pay off our Note 9's, nor did they credit our VZ account anywhere with the almost $1100.00. They took our money, then have not credited us for the money... all while telling me that my Note 9's would show paid off when I got our Note 10's.... except they won't ship the Note 10's because the order is "processing" payment on the Note 9's. They effed up. After 30 hrs on the phone with VZ over the last 3 weeks, they finally admitted they paid off someone else's Note 9's on someone else's account. All while not sending me the two Note 10's for saying I needed to pay off the Note 9's first, which of course they already took my money to do so. Sigh... if that makes sense.
2) I have purchased about $250.00 of accessories for the two Note 10's. Some through VZ, some on Amazon. Yes, i could probably, with more work/time/effort, get all those accessories returned/refunded, but I have already gone through an extremely lengthy process trying to get these Note 10's. I don't want to go through more work of having to send stuff back, wait for refunds, etc, etc.
3) After all of that, I damn well want our new phones, lol. Yes, I agree they will be upgrades to our Note 9's, but probably not worth all this hassle, time and stress VZ's eff up has caused me. Our Note 9's work fine, it will make basically no difference in our day to day lives whether we have Note 9's or a Note 10+ for me and a Note 10 for my wife. But after all of this work to do the upgrade and get the preorder promotions ($250 credit from samsung, $900 credit for trading in two older phones on the trade in program, an S8 and Note 8 and we get to keep or sell our Note 9's outright), I figure I might as well wait this out and get these damn Note 10's.
In conclusion, after all of this, I talked to VZ on the phone for over 3 hours today. They admitted that somehow they made a big mistake, and the only way to fix it was to cancel my pre order for these two phones. Unbelievable. But the supervisor I was talking to today promises to credit me the $250 in lost Samsung credits and also give us the promised $450 each for the phones we trade in. So after all of this waiting (3 weeks!) for these phones to ship, they ended up cancelling the order anyway and making me do a brand new order. Pretty messed up, but what can you do.
Exactly...my thoughts as well. It's the tech that wins my heart than aesthetics to the eye.

They should give me some credit for all this hassle, but they probably won't. I did ask for them to make this right somehow, I have owned retail businesses and would never treat a customer this way in the first place, but if something they ordered or bought was messed up somehow, I would definitely comp that customer something. VZ you can't even talk to a person who has that kind of power it seems.I hope they give you a lot more than just what they already should owe you. Dang. That sucks! I hope you get them soon. This phone has quite the "wow" factor and I'm loving every day with it.
This is so exactly my thoughts that I had to check and make sure I hadn't posted this myself and forgotten! I waited until the last minute to send in my 3XL trade in, but the only thing I liked about that phone more than the 2XL was the wireless charging. And even if the face recognition works as well as expected, that's just not how I want to use my phone. It's just petty marketing not to have included the fingerprint reader (it would undercut all of the thunder about the recognition), so I went with Samsungs marketing and accepted the trade-in offer.I loved my Pixel 3 XL but the 4 removing the fingerprint sensor and the minor hardware upgrade (other than the 90hz screen ofc, which is still a half-step in my mind to the preferred 120) is a big nope for me.
I'm regularly conflicted about this all as I LOVE Google's experience. This screen though...I can't be mad about it at all. Loving my Note 10+ and hoping that the Pixel 5 gives us a bigger RAM upgrade and the face unlock PLUS A FINGERPRINT READER
I wouldn't be so quick to assume that. When the Pixel 3 was announced and everyone was moaning about the 4GB RAM, I thought it was ridiculous. My 2XL ran fine, and so there was no reason the 3XL shouldn't work just as well, right? But my 3XL was total garbage. It would regularly get bogged down and the home button would stutter, the amazing camera did me no good when it would sometimes take a second or two after I hit the shutter button before the picture would take, sometimes the phone would just sit there for 10 seconds catching up. I wiped that thing repeatedly and it didn't get any better. Eventually I had a warranty replacement and it was a bit better, but I still saw some of those same problems even with the new phone, and my 2XL never worked like that. I know other people seemed to have a flawless experience, but I also saw a lot of posts from people with the same problems I had. At least now I have no reason to fear that the beastly hardware in the 10+ won't keep up.I mean, could you even tell a difference in performance from real world usage from say, the Note 9 vs the Pixel 4 XL? second, if you are willing to pay some big money for a device, it ought to look pleasant to the eye, if these two considerations are unimportant for somebody, then, there are literally dozens of cheap and not so cheap chinese devices out there that have good specs
The device has basically been confirmed and it's quite ugly. I can't deal. Not every device needs to look like the Note10 but that thing is atrocious. While pixels are good phones, they are ugly as hell. Pixel 4 will have massive bezels if latest leaks to be believed. At least for me phone need to look nice.
Eh, Samsung does too with DeX, s-pen, etc.True.
Since Google is doing practical things that make life easier and exciting rather than paying attention to "specs" and that too with great looks as shown here and here, it would be an easy choice to grab the Pixel 4/4 XL - to those who like to have Google's offering.
Ofcourse it certainly does , hence I responded in that msg quoting from the later half, your point ?Eh, Samsung does too with DeX, s-pen, etc.
Nope, team "none" actually.I feel like you're team Google on a Samsung board. Do you even have/like the Note10?
