Anyone hesitant due to Pixel 4 XL?

I get paid next week and I’ve been hesitant on the 10+ because of the OP7T Pro and Pixel 4 coming soon. I was considering the Exynos variant, but from what I’m seeing about performance, it appears as if on that side of the coin the Exynos isn’t doing so well. I wanted the Exynos for the ROM development and the 10+ has so many features (including wireless and reverse wireless charging) that I favor, but the Exynos performance could be a killer for me, maybe, especially considering the ROM development the OP7Pro has alongside the 90hz refresh rate.

I’ve been out the Android game since the S6; after that I tried iPhone for a few years but now I’m wanting back.

From someone who's used quite a few of Google's phones (both the Pixel 2 XL & 3 XL and the Nexus 5 & 6P) for extended periods of time, the Note10+ as a phone overall (extra features, battery life, screen quality, phone call quality, etc.) is light years better than any phone Google's offered. All 4 Google phones I've used have had quality control issues that frustrated me (terrible RAM management, poor battery life, bricked phones, crackling speakers, voice call quality/issues, screen tint, just to name a few).

The camera on the 3 XL hands down still produces the best photos, but the versatility of the Note10+'s cameras are unmatched. If the rumours are true, the upcoming 4 XL will still be missing a wide angle camera. Surprisingly, I've been using the wide angle on the Note10+ heaps.

No doubt the 4 XL will be a camera beast, and the 90Hz screen will be welcome, but the rumoured battery size may pose some battery life problems. Not to mention the lack of RAM (6GB) and a maximum of 128GB internal storage are a bit underwhelming.

While I love new tech like the next guy the big screen did it for me. The fact that I use my note 10 more than my laptop these days for content consumption. I don't think I could ever go back smaller than 6.8" to start with.
The bonus of DeX when I travel interstate for work if I want to watch a movie and not pay for it is a bonus and honestly if my new job give me a laptop I will ditch mine for a monitor and use Dex 100%

How do you do that? Do you use DeX on the hotel TVs or something? Do you bring along an HDMI or USB to plug in? I'm curious. I'd love to do this. I thought Netflix wouldn't work like that? Do you use Netflix or something else?

I will definitely get the Pixek 4 XL as it has innovation, something new to try and the first to get the updates... But again, this is my opinion and no one has to agree...

Do you have a Note10+ right now?

It's tough, yes there's innovation but it's also dated in some ways: no expandable storage, big bezels, kinda ugly overall, low storage capacities, low RAM amounts... Google is frustrating in this way.

I have the Note 9 512GB version and was on the upgrade programme, watched the keynote live but could not see the justification to upgrade. Checked the device in person in one of the stores and I am quite happy with my decision. Everyone' s viewpoint is different so I do respect your' s but I will try Google this time and maybe come back to Note line in iteration #12:)

I ported the same GCam apk I ran on my N8 on my N10+ and the results are even better... Can't believe it works beautifully. I mainly use it for NightMode and Photo booth. I'm sure once they tweak the GCAm apk for the 10+ the margin of improvement will be even more pronounced. My 2..

I had a Note9 512 too. The 10+ blows it out of the water! I wasn't sure either when I ordered it, but it's incredible.

I had d samsung s9 plus and s10 plus but hate screen holes small or big.:angel: :angel:New pixel 4 models are really good and hot looking and exciting with new features. With all d information already available; looking forward 2 google with much more excitement . size, ram size r fine for me. Looks matter; totally agree with Jon Prosser of front page tech. Very funny at around 1 minute 28 seconds ; totally agree with him

My biggest concern with Pixel phones are quality control. Every year there are issues with the phone. I would love to get a Pixel 4 but I'll wait a few months to see if there are articles about quality issues. If there aren't any maybe I'll pick up my first Pixel phone.

The pixel was never an option for me. I don't flash ROMs like I used to. And even with all the added functionality of the ROMs it just gets boring.

I mean I won't pretend like innovation isn't a great thing for the community but how much of that translates into an day to day real world benefit to the average user.

I mean remember project butter? Was that an actual "project" or just marketing hype? Not saying Samsung doesn't hype some useless ish but I find a lot more useful features built into Samsung than a pixel.

And boy is that thing ugly
