Anyone Play Hill Climb Racing 2 on Stock Oreo?

I'm addicted to this game so any phone I have must play it smoothly. I have a US (RETAUS) and it play's it great on Nougat. I just bought a white RETAPAC and it upgraded right to Oreo, I factory reset and started to compare with my US model. As soon as I got to HC racing 2, I noticed it wasn't as smooth and after a little play (and heat) it choked down to unplayable and worse than any other phone I'd had, and that's a bunch. Now I'm worried about getting pushed Oreo on my US device. My Mate SE with Kirin 659 plays it so well I feel guilty for paying $210 for it but it's still on Nougat. The Pixel XL plays it great on Oreo but the Essential and View 10 both did not (Oreo). Anyone else tried to play it on the Z with Oreo?

Just played it for like half an hour, connected to charger so the phone would get hot easily. No issues at all.
