Anyone regret updating to the newest OOS version and losing xposed?

Depends on what you use Xposed for. If enjoy heavily modifying your ROM, you should probably just stick to Marshmallow.
If you only use Xposed for basic mods like the YouTube ones, there's workarounds available now that work on Nougat.

Or you could use rr nougat and still pretty much have a great level of customization while still having the latest android. This is the ROM I use and I have no complaints get updated frequently as well. I don't really care for xposed or oos that's not why I got the phone. I got it because it has great development support here at xda and cause it's awesome of course.

It depends on how much you like xposed and its modules? in my opinion I prefer xposed over any supposed performance or battery upgrades nougat has.
Yes I'm kind of leaning this way.

On OP3T, would you recall steps to install xposed? And which root method you used?

I've stuck with Nougat since getting mine. Hopefully, rovo89 updates Xposed for Nougat in the near future. I love the deep layer of customization that comes with Xposed, but OOS with Magisk is pretty damn awesome.

Xposed is nice, but OOS has great functionality and what I am missing, can be added with Magisk. So no, no miss. Also, Safety Net works which is nice.

Like can you use something like snapreffs or xinsta with magisk?

Magisk doesn't really have much in common with Xposed, they do completely different things. Xposed modifies how an app runs while the app is running by interrupting commands, while Magisk simply replaces or inserts files in /system at boot. The level of customization that Xposed offers simply cannot be achieved directly with Magisk. It might be possible to modify the original Instagram app to include features from snapress or xinsta and then install the modified app.
