I got one to work!!!

I bought one from Hong Kong with the T-Mobile logo and it worked! I told a local supplier about it and he ordered some but from a different supplier and his screens worked too. They were on ebay for $39 but they bumped the price up to $45 and they take forever to get here. I waited like 2.5wks. But they do work. Here is the supplier in Hong Kong:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOUCH-SCREE...545?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a110247c1

And here is a US supplier here in GA that has them:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-NEW-T-M...279?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0dbea7e7

You're better off getting them from AskTronics since they're a US seller and the price is now the same anyway. But I've been to their shop and tried their screens and they work.

Another twist to this issue is that this same shop had a guy come in and install the plain HTC digitizer on a T-Mobile Sensation and it worked perfectly. So I don't know. Some work, some don't. I've got two Sensations and they only work with the T-Mobile branded digitizers.

Yea, both of the phones are T-Mobile Sensations. I have both screens. Here are the part#'s I have:

HTC branded:(written on cable)
PYD V1.0
E21945 1
ICAC ichia
94V-0 1112

(written on chip)
8CTMA340
1043 D 04
-48LQI-09
CYP656805
PHI

HTC/T-Mobile branded:
(written on cable)
PYD V1.0
E21945 1
ICACichia
94V-0 1115

(written on chip)
8CTMA340
48LQI-09
1107 D 04
CYP608303
PHI

This is my best interpretation. These letters are small as heck!

Do we know what the actual part# is? I have a bunch of lines of numbers but I'm not sure which one is the actual part#. It seems it will depend on which screen version you had originally. Unfortuately, I don't have the original screens to compare. I just have some screens that work and others that don't work on my two Sensations.

well it seems that from what ive read on this thread that t-mobile sensation uses:

PYD V1.0
SW-10 94V-0
E308252.1117

(the digitizer replacement doesnt necesarily say t-mobile on the top)

same problems here. The digitizer i ordered off ebay had tmobile in the upper right and htc in the upper left. same unresponsiveness as everyone else though. must be a fake from china or something. Heads up if your buying on ebay.

Got it working too!

I can confirm the digitizers that worked for shawndh are working for me too. No more delays!
Check post #66 on this thread. I bought the one from the US supplier (e-bay member ask_tronics) as i didn't want the t-mobile logo on it. Took 10 days to get it in Europe.

Many thanks to shawndh for spotting them and posting here.

Here's the part no. (on cable) of the working digitizer:

PYD_6042A_FPC REV: A
mK VS T<>2
VTM-0 XT6043C09A

What were the numbers on your original smashed digitizer for reference?
Sorry, i didn't keep the original. I only have the second digitizer that lagged (bought on ebay from yallstock), see details below.

Avoid this one:

PYD 1.0
E219454<>1
ICAC ichia
94V-01112

I broke my HTC Sensation screen as well. I bought a screen on Ebay from Mengtorusa in California. It's labeled with HTC and T-Mobile, but based on the numbers, it looks like it won't work. Here's the new digitizer details:

(Numbers were on the opposite side of the cable, not the black side)
PYD_6042A_FPC Rev ?? (Covered by warranty sticker)
nK VS T<>2 VTM ???? (Covered by warranty sticker)

My original screen is:
PYD V1.0
SW-10 94V-0
E308252 1113

I've also noticed there are minor differences in the traces on the back of the screen. If anyone's interested, I'll post pictures.

When discussing screen compatibilities, it might help if everyone mentions what country you're from. Different version phones likely went to different countries, and saying a certain screen works in your phone might not be so helpful to someone in the States if you're from Europe. BTW, I'm in the US.

Also, I don't remember where, but in my hours of trying to research this, I came across a mention there was a difference between an HTC Sensation, and an HTC Sensation 4G. Maybe the 4G is T-Mobile only? Or US only?

I'm wondering if a screen recalibration might fix things? I'm using a Dell Streak as my spare until I get my Sensation working, and if you hold certain buttons while turning on, and enter a code, you get to a menu where you can check and calibrate just about everything, including the touch screen. Maybe this delay is really a recalibration when the phone realizes the stored parameters are not working? It would make sense, as I'm sure power is cut to the digitizer when the screen goes black, and if the stored parameters don't work, the screen recalibrates on the fly, and those settings may last until it loses power. Does anyone know if the Sensation has a Diag menu?
