I'll be switching. Just think the S8+ looks so nice and tired of this phone. Not one for rotting any more. I've already got my S8+ preordered. Selling an XL if anyone wants one. Lol.

I also have preordered the s8 plus. Dont get me wrong I love my pixel XL but I need a little change. I'm debating on selling my pixel or keeping them both. Honestly I might just do that, I can't give up this pixel because I know once I sell it I will regret it for sure!

Yea I'm thinking of switching as well. I'm tired of this bluetooth crap man. 7.1.2 installed and still the bluetooth starts skipping on music with my powerbeats headset. Seems outside noise triggers it. A reboot cures it for a bit but comes back eventually. verizon is giving $480 depending on what they appraise it so I'm thinking about that.

Nope. Between My fridge that had to be completely refunded by samsung, my Ks8000 TV that I'm waiting to get refunded from samsung, and the Note 7 my dad had, i've sworn off Samsung. They're pretty when they work, but their warranty dept is crap.

Damn it... You bought the complete package!

No washing machine? j/k

I heard they also had to return some models. They would also start burning out of nowhere.

Caught between a solid device and the new device itch. I know whatever Samsung makes (that isn't a Note) will be wonderful........but the Pixel XL is such a solid device. Timely updates. No frills. Everything just works.....it truly is the iPhone of the Android world......and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I gave up a beloved S7 Edge to make the switch to the XL and I have become truly attached to the smartphone, even if it isn't necessarily the raciest, or the most sparkly product on the market. It is just such a danged smart..well....smartphone. Living the Android dream that I have been seeking since the G1 days in a way.

Ask someone with Bluetooth issues how solid it is.

Also one Note has issues because of the battery. One note as in one model, and the note was light years better than the S7/e in the software department. So if anything they have something to prove to the short attention spanned cellular community by knocking it out the park. Not to mention the fact that it's going up against an anniversary edition of the iPhone. .

Google missed some marks, this is essentially what every Nexus should've been (battery, camera) but not a paradigm shift in cell phones.

Have fun with laggy ass touchWiz garbage and also that bigsby. After the Note 7 debacle I would rather buy an iPhone then give Samsung my business again. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice I think not. Not to mention Samsung showed there true colors with how much they care about their customers which is not at all. Hey but to each their own. My Note 7 barely lasted a day I would like to see your touchWiz last as long as my rooted pixel XL. Locked bootloader equals garbage why even buy an Android it kind of defeats the whole purpose which is development.

There was never anything wrong with the S7 battery.

The lack of wireless charging in the Pixel is awful. That would have been so easy to implement.
Easy to add look on Google nilkin has got pixel owners covered for wireless charging using my wireless charger right now on my pixel XL.

Not switching, but I am buying the s8 plus. Not a fan of touchwiz, but I'm addicted to having the latest and greatest. Between my IPhone 7 plus, pixel XL and S8 plus I might be able to be content for awhile.

Pixel

Unlocked. ROMs out the waahooo but people still crying about Bluetooth. Speaker issues, unexpected lens flair.

I always laugh a little bit when people compare locked bootloaders to apple. Just means you don't truly understand what Android is capable of.

Hint: it's not being able to use 3minit battery mods.

Pcriz my Bluetooth is running great and has been since it was out of the box. Also running ARISE with viper and Dolby which has superior sound but go ahead and have fun with that Samsung Galaxy 8. Again I would prefer to give my money to a company that doesn't screw me but you do what you want to with your $900 and again enjoy that bogged down preloaded crab that comes with TouchWiz. I still bet my battery lasts longer then your Galaxy 8 out of the box and my phone's a year old. Oh and Android is about development and adding customization something you can't do much of with that locked down bootloader but again to each their own. This thread is full of people who are sick of Samsung mass producing subpart electronics so have fun with yours. Why are you even on XDA if your going with a phone which is locked down not much use to be here. Maybe you should go pick on other people on Facebook or something to build your ego since all I see you do is a bunch of bullying In these threads.....good riddance your going to move on to another phone for this entire community. Good day to you sir. I have said all I need to about this subject and to you so nough said.

Yeah Sammy screwed me. I got my money back plus a 300 credit for my time not to mention the 2 SD cards and a gear VR I sold. Yeah it sucked but please don't make it seem like they took you for everything they could. Spare me that story.

You speak from the XDA vacuum and sadly enough it barely makes up a percentage point of the consumer market so good on you that Android is about taking advantage of someone else's work. The majority of people just want their phone to work. Which most phone do without having to ever step foot on XDA.

Also it's great that your Bluetooth works. Are you saying that means no one has ever had an issue with Bluetooth on a pixel? Nevermind the various posts here, Reddit, Google's own admission. Not saying it's a good phone but the fanboy bias is a little thick. No phone is perfect and this one isn't the exception to that rule.

Hello,

I don't want to say you are right or wrong, but actually you gave your money to a company that screw people. Maybe they just didn't screw you yet...

Just take a look at this:

https://chimicles.com/google-nexus-6p-battery-early-shutoff-bootlooping-class-action-investigation/

Ok, there's Huawei involved in this fiasco... But putting these issues in low priority from Google part is not really nice and proves how much they actually care for their customers. Even though they replaced some of the faulty units, there are still a lot of people left aside.

Also, Android is about an Operating System for mobile devices isn't it? Only 0.001% (us) care about this customization you are talking about. What this or that brand does is alright as long as you are happy and want to live with it. That's the freedom of Android... :good:

Have a nice day Sir... :)

Google took care of me Samsung did not that is my personal experience. I can only speak from my personal runaround with Samsung. Also how many faulty electronics has Samsung produced in the last 3 years...TV's, phone's, washing machines the list goes on and on. I'm curious what search engine you will be using with your new Samsung 8 maybe bing. Just saying I am done because of my personal experience with a company who screwed me over and did not want to reimburse me for my time and trouble other then offering me an SD card...Um think I'll pass Good day to you fine sir. Hope you enjoy that 8 which will be almost the same as the 7 and the 9 with minor differences like Samsung always does and will continue to do. The last 3 pages are again full of people with similar experiences and ideals most of which I'm guessing we're screwed by Samsung but what do I know I'm one guy right.

Hey,

Every brands make faulty hardware. LG, Motorola, HTC, Huawei, Samsung, etc... I don't like Samsung Eco System, so I just don't buy those.

About Pixel devices... Except the software (battery) and camera optimizations, I'm wondering where are all the innovations you seem to like about this device? No stereo speakers? 5.5" display? Assistant? Gestures? For $900 really?

It works well for me and the camera is really nice, so I'm happy with my phone though. To me, it's not as solid as it should have been... For 9
$900 :p

Cheers...

Does every brand make exploding phone's and washers that injure people. My phone has ARISE on it and I have the dual speaker mod so yes I do have stereo speakers which blow my Note 7 speakers out of the water. I also am not one who likes a bunch of gimmicks which Samsung often puts on there phones. Things like hands free notification and waving your palm in front of the screen to turn a page. I do agree that $900 is steep for the pixel XL but all premium phone's are now $800 to $1000 that is just the way the market has gone. Oh by the way the pixel has gestures and also Google assistant that is already far advanced over the reports of Samsungs second try at an assistant bixby..... but you do your own homework. I believe the peeps at XDA said it best below.

I will wait for the note 8. As it seems when Sammy brings out a new S series phone. They seems to I prove it when the note version comes out. I had a S7 and a note 7 and the note 7 was far superior in battery life and performance. I will wait and see if the new note 8 when it comes out don't have any fire issues before I buy it. My google XL mostly does tethering duties but do like the assistant makes texting while driving much safer. I don't use Bluetooth so that doesn't bother me but I can see it being an issue for people that needs it. Good luck to the ones that gets the new S8 as Sammy does have a good phone. See yall back when google comes out with their new phone lol.
