Mines never really randomly rebooted. It's improved auto brightness.

Hi which process / guide you followed for the conversion? lot of people feedback these bugs, not sure it is hardware related or process related.

Mine came pre-converted with indian global rom from Wonda. I first installed A08 on A06 when it arrived OTA then A09 through oxygen updater.

No flashing. How do I check if the bootloader is unlocked? I have just sent the phone in for repair to get the region lock removed so may take me a few days to be able to check/respond.

No flash is good, just don't know how they did it, if bootloader unlocked you should see a orange screen every time you boot your phone

Well, I tried it myself.
After flashed the payload.bin to both slots and oplusstanvbk from the COS A.11, the phone booted smoothly into OOS A.09.

Significant improvement from A.08
1. Auto Brightness problem: still exist, mostly on screenlock but less common than in A.08, kind of acceptable
2. Lagging: I had sever lags when using Tiktok, speedtest etc, completely fixed after upgrade.
3. Random reboot: Not happened so far.

I found #1 and #2 happen a lot if using always on display and double tape to wake. Can you try enabling these and see what result will be?

Just for test, I turned Aod and tap to wake back on, still with problem, the strange refreshing rate of aod hurts my eyes,

Now my op11 is runing Indian OOS A.09 with Chinese oplusstanvbk.img A.09.
Almost perfect.

Great finding. I'll do the same shortly as a control test.

Question: are you keeping BL unlocked? otherwise, unlocking it for each OTA update is a no go, as it leads to data wipe.

I left the BL unlocked, for precaution that it upgrades and bricks itself.
Flashing the payload.bin does not wipe data.

I noticed on my device the auto brightness goes to the darkest on lock screen, once unlocked it seems okay, do you see the same after flashing A09?

Still the same, however it auto adjusts in few seconds, but in an uncomfortable refreshing way.

@Alvaro G just came up to a question. How do you extract the oplusstanvbk.img from Coloros A.09? OFP package doesn't seem available.
