The xperia 5 series is the spiritual successor to the compact series right? Anyone planning to upgrade to the Xperia 5 ii from here? I replaced this device with the Motorola Edge and was planning to switch back this week. That phone is trash.

Unfortunately this is not a compact for me.
I'm very happy with my xz2c running LineageOS and I think for a long time because I don't want a huge phone !
I read somewhere that maybe, yes maybe next year Sony will launch compact phone again...

No Sony for me anymore! I'm disappointed about build quality, so i ordered a Pixel 4a which seems to be a good deal, not only size wise...
No, the way Sony handled the xz2c android 10 issues have made me lose faith in Sony.
If another manufacture **cough cough Apple** left their phones with bad fingerprint sensors, touch issues after an update for months they would get ripped to shreds.
Edit: the 5ii won't be a flagship or a priority in a few years just like the xz2c, it will be in the same position of priority and look at how we're treated by Sony.
