Anyone using a SM-G930F on T-Mobile US?

Are you talking about flashing different firmware on the 930f or the 930t
My thought is what if 930f users can flash tmobile 930t tar and get tmobile software on a international 930f.
I mentioned this in another post because I had a att s3 that I did flash tmobile s3 firmware onto and worked great
This might get us the ability to use WiFi calling and volte.
And still be rooted since 930f it's unlocked bootloader someone can make a rom that's built off 930t source
This is G930F firmware, for the G930F international phone. All European t-mobile versions are international phones.

The 930T version has SD820, the 930F has Exynos, so there's no way to make the US T-mobile firmware work on an international S7. There are also some people who have said they are going to try flashing the 930T firmware on an unlocked, SD820-based Chinese/Korean/etc. version. If this works, it should pretty much provide exactly what we would get if T-Mo unlocked the 930T, although it might prove a pain to get a hold of one of these Asian variants. Other potential bonus of this route is the possibility of getting a 64GB model.

I think what jjohn7293 is going to try to is to flash firmware from one of the European T-Mobile models (which are Exynos) onto an international Exynos S7. If all goes well, this will get VoLTE and WiFi Calling to work on the 930F on the T-Mobile US network. End result, if successful, is a rooted S7 with all the T-Mo features intact. Downsides are reputedly lesser call/data performance compared to the 820-based 930T, and any custom ROMs would be limited to stock-based TouchWiz versions. No AOSP/CM type ROMs (which doesn't matter to me, but will to a lot of people).

In either case, the odds don't look all that great, but there's a decent chance, and either (or both) could get us a satisfactory compromise to what we have now. Only time will tell.

Im looking into getting a G930F as well, but am hoping someone figures out how to get wifi calling to work first. I also had thought of flashing the stock 930T firmware, but hadnt thought of the different processors. The other thread linked about my port here looks like they are getting close. If they do I might just buy one.

so for the guys that already have the G930F for US T-Mobile, what country firmware did you guys use? I've read in a couple threads that the UK one is the most popular. But would there be any pros/cons for using the German T-Mobile (or any other country T-Mobile) firmware instead?

I was wondering the same thing, I used this last time I had to reflash

cool. I believe that's the Pakistan version:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/66854/G930FXXU1APB6_G930FOJV1APB9_PAK/

just curious, why did you choose that over the others? or is that what came with your phone by default?
That's what was on the phone so I used that. Now that I have a backup phone I will be trying some other firmwares. I really wanted to try the Canadian smg930w8 but there's no firmware for it on sammobile [emoji17]

Tempted to buy this since it's cheaper than the T-Mobile version but I know I'll miss VoLTE. Those using this on T-Mobile, are the tradeoffs (no VoLTE, no Wifi calling, weaker radio maybe?) worth the benefits (No carrier bloat, exynos processor)?

Just got the g935f on tmobile and all I can say is coming from iphones I never had volte, wifi calling, and signal is not that significantly weaker so it's pretty ok

Why didn't you have VoLTE or WiFi calling on T-Mobile? It's one of those things that is hard to go back from once you have it (VoLTE).

Lol, that's a good question. I never realized it I guess. Most of the people I talked to use imessage and facetime so I guess I never look into until this phone.

I contacted T-MO support and they say the SM-G930F is 100% compatible, but not sure I trust them. Are there any issues with HSPA support or has the network re-work been completed?

Thanks.
I could not get G930F onto my G930T, maybe T Mo is not up to date with the fact there is 32gb Qualcomm G930T and exynox with 32 and 64gb, we are stuck with the junk as usually.

Could get su onto G930T using Kingo su apk, set in developer options OEM unlock ....

PC8 firmware is garbage.

I travel too much, I shame most airline pilots traveling on international routes.
So any unlocked mobile phone like a few LG's and Samsung I bought in Netherlands, Panama, Germany, South Africa, Dubai worked with my Tmobile sim without issues.
Exception is Movistar Mexico that is on their own marijuana induced planet and nothing from Europe works well with 4G / LTE and a Mex Movistar sim card. Only stock Movistar devices. Wasted enough money on the movistar experiment.
No wifi calling but someone can dump the apk and link it to you.

F versions is likely Exynox chip and will not work on T hardware.
Closest to SM-G930T is the USA sprint version in terms of hardware or this is what I have read, so this is likely the closest flash onto T hardware that should work for now until someone used the Samsung source code and compiled a generic kernel for both Exynox and Qaulcomm versions.

I doubt this recompiled kernel and modules would arrive soon.

As far as I know, this will absolutely not work.
