Anyone using original S- view flip cover- Please review it

Anyone else having the same problem? Isn't the firmware the same or does it vary depending on the country? And why make a case and not test it samsung?anyone know of a way to deactivate all those stupid help pop ups?

Hi, I'm currently using s-view cover original.

Here's quick review:
The built quality is great!! Slim & stylish looks. Doesn't add much bulkiness, bit heavy though.. Confirm works on both 4.3 & 4.4, Camera and note function are great, bit expensive but in my opinion, worth every penny! :good:

It's way too expensive and I personally don't like it. The Sview functionality looks good but cover itself is too clumsy and is a hassle every time you want to use your phone.

I am using "rock elegant S view cover".. try it Rakesh, it's same as S View cover costs just 1000 bucks and looks much better than it.. and it has S view features to reject and accept calls on the window and profile settings and music player can also be accessed along with the clock.. the only con is, it sucks a bit battery because it has its own application which needs to be active all the time as it works on proximity sensor..

Am not a fan of flip cover itself so doesn't matter if I get official or any other knock off or cheapo variant 3rd party cover . For hardcore users like myself Flip covers is a BIG NO in my opinion

That looks like a decent case and I too prefer light cases too but not those cheap silicon ones . POST your review in Accessories section once you get the case

Yeah, sometimes i get that hassle feeling haha, but that's why i also get Love Mei Ultrathin 0.7MM. Switch between once in a while :laugh:

I did a small experiment after reading your post. I detached the cover, put a small piece of paper to insulate the contacts and the S View still works indeed !

In this case it must be the wireless charging - no idea what else could it be ?

The best would be to make a try by putting a covered phone on a wireless charger, unfortunatelly I have no access to such one :/

Actually you've made a mistake on your experiment. Further devices which support s-view after grand 2 have been added a safety feature (which are the contacts) so that fake s-views with only magnets in it won't work anymore. But why did the s-view still worked even after you insulated it from your phone? Well the contacts doesn't need to be always inserted for the s-view to work. The contacts are like triggers that once attached even for a second, any s-view with magnets in it will then work but only until you reboot your phone. If ever the phone drains out of juice or accidentally rebooted, the s-view function will not work anymore, you would need to trigger the s-view function again via the contacts. (Y)

BTW, I've posted a new thread here in the accessories section, I'll summarize it here for you guys.

It seems that fake IC(contacts) from note3 works with our note3neo, I bought one for 6bucks and a fake note3neo s-view for another 6bucks, attached the contact to the s-view and it worked.

In total, I've saved around $33.

I did not realize it's a kind of trigger. In this way no possibility for wireless charge as the only contacts are for S-view.

In the meantime I noticed that IC chips are sold online on Alibaba and other internet shops.

The Chinese have already copied them, so it's just a question of few time to have fake covers already equipped with.

I do use an original cover for my Note 3 Neo and like it a lot, but after three months of usage it is already getting quite shabby. Don't think it will last longer than a year, not satisfied with that. And it also does not support QI charging as I hoped.
