I actually think punkkaos is also looking at GB along with mrbirdman. And probably jt too. I think they don't like to publicize their every move because it gets people easily excited. mrbirdman posted a few tweets about Gingerbread booting and all of a sudden everyone got excited about GB. I think we're in decent shapre for future community updates and if I were to get a phone on Verizon that's out now, it'd be the Fascinate (oh wait - that's what I got!) because of the unlocked bootloader and slightly more modern hardware than the Incredible. But if I was in the market now, I'd wait a couple months for the next gen to hit. I doubt Samsung's going to support their phones any more than they do now, but at least if you get the next gen Samsung it'll probably get at least one update further than the Fascinate does officially. Plus SAMOLED+ looks even more amazing than SAMOLED.

The thing I don't get, I've read a lot of articles from the Dec-Jan time frame stating that Samsung India Twitter confirmed that the Galaxy S will get Gingerbread. Would Samsung release an update and then not release it AT ALL for the US? I mean, I know 2.2 is already over there, but it'll EVENTUALLY come here.

I mean there are tons of blogs that have talked about this. Am I reading this type of thing incorrectly?
