Straight Talk SCH-S950C
I am new to these Forums, and fairly new to the Android Community.... I didn't own an Android Device until a few months ago.... I know... kind of sad right?
Anyway, I have jumped in deep in a short period of time because I have been modding Computer Operating Systems since the beginning of time.... well, computer time anyway... back in the 80's before Windows arrived..... So it was only natural for me to want to Mod my Android as soon as I got it.
First... I wanted to say Great Job to all of you for the outstanding work on this ROM. I am quite impressed.
For the record, I have successfully installed this onto my Straight Talk Samsung Showcase SCH-S950C which is running on Verizon's Towers. Had a few minor glitches installing.... I kept getting "Android Keyboard has stopped responding", however I was able to fix that by Fixing File Permissions in CWM....... Other than that it is running smoothly so far and I am enjoying it quite a bit.
The next project is to correct the settings so that it shows SCH-S950C for the model instead of SCH-I500 and to set the Carrier Name to Straight Talk instead of Verizon.... these are purely Cosmetic because I am a perfectionist....
I only have one glitch I have not been able to figure out that I was wondering if anyone might have some ideas..... For some reason.... and this is not a problem with this ROM.... as this happens to me on ALL ROMS aside from the stock image.... When I receive an MMS Message.... I do not get a notification. If I open my Messaging App the message will be there, and it will download correctly, I am also able to send with no issues. I simply do not get a notification of a new message.
Regular SMS Notifications work fine. On the Stock ROM both notifications work properly. I have tried messing with APN settings, but have had no luck and I have verified that everywhere there is an option for displaying notifications is enabled. It is a minor annoyance, but it frustrates me that I can't figure it out...... I might also add that I can only get MMS to work over 3G.... it will not download or send MMS over WiFi. Which is why I thought it might be something in the APN Settings.
Any help is appreciated... and once again... thanks for all the great work.
