Opening picture gallery through the app seems to make the app crash for me. Nice work though. So much better than the stock camera app
Do you have the Google photos option enabled in settings? I've found that it can be a bit unstable, and crash or just act oddly. Not had this with the built in gallery (photos option disabled) though, so if you use that I'm not really sure what's going on.Opening picture gallery through the app seems to make the app crash for me. Hi @HomerSp, thanks a lot for the new fix. This make my phone a complete one. There's one issue which I'm facing is the Night Sight photos are going all purple... I did tried to change a setting and it happened after that but even after reverting back to original setting it still does the same. Is there any way to solve this?Hi everyone! Just wanted to share this google camera port that I modded to work on the Razer Phone 1. It's based on BSG's latest (MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1f.apk) build, but with some modifications made by me to make it not crash immediately as well as work with the front facing camera. The crashes are caused by the front facing camera only supporting legacy mode and not camera2 which is a requirement of Google Camera from a few versions ago.
The default settings seem to work fine for me, but I haven't really tried different configs and such, so do let me know if you experience any crashes or other oddities and I will look into it.

Good to hear, not experienced that myself, but any problems can usually be solved by clearing app data and/or uninstalling and reinstalling the app.Hi @HomerSp, thanks a lot for the new fix. Also the front camera doesn't work in Night Sight
EDIT:
Uninstalled the application, and then reinstalled. Everything is working back to normal, just night sight mode front facing camera not working.
Just experienced this myself, and weirdly enough, it seems to happen when you change the interface mode to Pixel 3 - change it back to Pixel 2 and it's all good again. Hm, not sure what you mean - the front facing camera looks fine to me, and not zoomed in. It will be zoomed in slightly when you use the video recorder though, or video stabilization won't work.Question here, is there any reason for the front camera to have a smaller frame? meaning its a little less wide(or rather it's zoomed in) than the built in camera app.
Picture quality is much better than the built in one of course, but the wide angle on there is quite better in that specific regard.
If anyone knows how to get the wide angle back please do tell
My bad, its just the viewfinder that is a bit zoomed in. The photo themselves are wider. In the original camera app the viewfinder isn't zoomed in which is weird!Just experienced this myself, and weirdly enough, it seems to happen when you change the interface mode to Pixel 3 - change it back to Pixel 2 and it's all good again. Yeah I confirm photos come out slightly wider then what we see in the view finder. My bad, its just the viewfinder that is a bit zoomed in. The photo themselves are wider. In the original camera app the viewfinder isn't zoomed in which is weird!
Odd, I'm not seeing this at all. Is this just using the front camera in regular Camera mode? I did some tests, and as far as I can tell, what I see in the viewfinder is identical to the output image - so I'm not sure what's going on... Are you using the BSG or Tln build?Yeah I confirm photos come out slightly wider then what we see in the view finder.
Not a big deal, but yeah you are not alone experiencing this.
I'm using BSG v1.2.0 stock settings.(mayyyybe I changed something really minute)Odd, I'm not seeing this at all. Is this just using the front camera in regular Camera mode? I'm afraid that's just digital zoom - you can test which one it's using by covering up the telephoto lens, the one farthest from the flash.I just noticed something that may be the key to using both back cameras. When you first choose portrait mode, the picture seems to be zoomed in (maybe the telephoto lens?). If you click on gallery (Google photos for me) within the Google Camera app, then push back to go back into portrait mode, the picture is not zoomed (maybe the normal camera lens). Portrait mode works for both "lenses". Maybe this can be useful for the developers.
That is nonetheless interesting.... That still means we don't need to stand as far back for the portrait mode (although standing further back is better to reduce lens distortion).I'm afraid that's just digital zoom - you can test which one it's using by covering up the telephoto lens, the one farthest from the flash.
Man, it works like a charm. Amazing work even for a GSI!Hi everyone! Just wanted to share this google camera port that I modded to work on the Razer Phone 1.
