Stock Oreo, disable HDR+ == cannot take picture, HDR+ enabled == slow processing, opening photo immediately after taking it (while hdr still processing) will "crash" and back to google photo homepage.. if processing already finished no problem.

Indeed. The whole proccess is slow but the result for a good, clear and well-finished picture is undoubtedly satisfying.
Have you may tried any other more stable version to suggest?

Wow, it's really good! Have fun with nightmode and HDR+.
It's really a little bit pity that slow motion cannot work, and, if possible, AR mode. The latest version right now is 6.2.30, is there anyone make it well working on Moto z?

Install ARCore / playground patcher from Magisk. It makes AR work just fine.. At least on 6.1.21.. Slowmotion has worked for me too, but not anymore.. Dunno what happened, but it CAN work!

https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V2e.apk works for me.. If it crashes when you start it, clear cache and data. Then long press the app icon, and "selfie mode".. Then you can fiddle around with the settings, and find what works for you.. ?

By the way, have you rooted and upgraded to Android 9? Because I'm using officially upgraded Android 8.0
It did not crash but nothing displayed on the screen, just buttons and shoot icon was gray which means not activated.
I cannot find such a "selfie mode"you mentioned by long tapping the icon of the app, only uninstall menu displayed. But selfie mode did work after installation.

This port adds the Pixel 3 AWB features, with greatly re-balances photo colors even in extreme situations. Look at this example:

6.2 HDR+ with Pixel 3 AWB
These kinds of ports are sort of beta testing, but I managed to find a stable one download.
Install and just use it. Also take a moment to check what doesn't work in the FAQ sections

GCAM 6.2.0.30 adds Time-Lapse feature, and you can simply install it and it will run. There's a lot of ports avaiable, my suggestion goes to this one.

No one work on Omni or LOS, still using 1.2v or moto camera

I'm a step further. I deleted cache and data of this and also of the Moto camera app.
It's now possible to take photos, at this point I've only seen crashes with activated Motion or RAW.

Front camera is bad. But I don't use it. But the app starts, you can take photos. I haven't had time to do more. Sorry.

LOS 16 from 17. okt. 2019 works good with Urnyx's 2.5 --> only slow-motion doesn´t work.
Time-lapse, panoramic, raw Pics ... works well.

also tested:
GCam_v7.0.009-v4.4.apk (Urnyx05, 2019-10-23, changelog)
works but less options and the configuration is more cumbersome because you always have to pull down the menu first. --> slomo doesn´t wort too.

i switch back to 2.5
