this is a great app!!! i'm using it on my HD2 and it works perfectly... if i can suggest you some future features i should add a finger control as direction system, and where it's possible directly on mobile device the list of programs/music/pictures/movies to play, so te be able to control MCE even if not in front of screen!
i think this is a great app for all mobile devices, so, please, make it more "hardware" configurable, so to be able to map everyone is own hw key or use it completely TOUCH with finger gesture :)

future releases...

thanks for the support guys! great to see people are using the app. to answer a few questions:

xbox 360 media extender control is definitely a possibility for a future release, vmc is certainly capable of using it.

keyboard support (i assume you mean qwerty text input) is definitely on the todo list, makes it much easier for large music libraries i think. only thing is vmc doesn't work reliably with it at the moment (at least not with the versions ive found to be most stable).

itunes integration isn't possible with vmc... only runs with media center. cool idea tho! salling clicker seems to work well with itunes, shame its not free.

i think that integrating upnp control will over complicate the software a bit... the whole point to this is that is light and simple. also i have no way to test that feature out. again itd be a nice idea... if somebody wants to develop a media center plugin or some software that emulates the vmc server and that can provide the same functionality as vmc + works with upnp somehow then that'd be cool.

im pretty sweet for coding at the moment... but if again anybody wants to develop a media center plugin thats less buggy than the vmc betas, that'd be great.

working on a new version now... ill try to include some sort of touch interface for hd2 users. would anybody be fussed if i got rid of the volume text on the volume button? where it says what the current volume is? there seems to be a problem with vmc that sends the wrong volume. and the text isn't clickable anyway. so what do you guys think?

oishiiunko, is it possible having on pda the item list so to be able to use "completely" the media center also from another room simply looking the pda having there all the control and list you need?
another little question, is it possible having "multiple" pc connection setup for choosing wich computer to connect on startup?

Hi!

I have now installed this, i can connect and so but when i want to control the Media Center on my PC it just don't do very much. I can move around a bit with the Windows logo up left corner. But that is about all i can do...

But i don't give up :) I'll be waiting for upcoming releases :)

Keep up the good work!

Awesome! Works pretty well on my TP2, its kind of buggy (doesn't always connect, sometimes I have to switch between the computers name and the ip address) but for just going forward and back it works great. Volume also doesn't seem to work, it always shows 0. Anyway great work

new release

ok... 0.5b is up and running. i havent found any bugs just testing it myself yet... let me know what you find. hopefully the non - hardware dpad support works well for all the hd2 users. ive decided to leave the previous release up just in case people want to use that for some reason.

btw the theme im using is called "HF Clear", not sure where exactly i picked it up though...

Hi,

HD2/Wifi connection to VMCController server (on Windows 7)

Connection OK, but first click on screen gives this stack trace :

NullReferenceException at WindowsMediaCentreMobileRemote.ControlForm.send(String message) ...

Am I the only one who gets this message ?

Works fine on my HD2, the only thing is when I rotate it to landscape view, the D-PAD arrows go to the bottom left not to the middle, therefore the down arrow goes missing. Anyway keep up the good work, cant wait to get it with the keyboard function. :D

I tried 0.4 files first but when i run the app on my phone i get an error message stating "This application requires a newer version of the microsoft .NET compact Framework." I then tried your 0.5 cab and i get the same error. I seem to be the only one having this problem so far. Any ideas? I have a tp2 with the verizon 6.5 stock rom.

ah right. its not designed to be used in landscape due to the limited vertical resolution available; the landscape mode is really only there so you can enter text using a hardware keyboard in a future release. you still have play/pause/next control though.

strange... maybe check your vmc installation, maybe try one of the other builds on their site. could maybe be an annoying firewall running in the background perhaps? does it happen all the time or just once? has anybody else had this error?
