I am running windows 7 64 and have an htc hd2 that I haven't messed with too much.

I am fairly new to windows mobile as the last 6 years I have stuck strictly with RIM products. Not the easiest transition but its all a learning curve. seems to have its ups and downs compared to RIM But a definte win for WinMo is the hardware available. Thanks for all of your help in advance. This was a $15 app on blackberry and was more of a workaround so I guess I found another plus if I can get it to work.

for all who are having problems connecting on 32 bit win 7, the VMC controller seems to work ONLY on 64 bit versions of win 7...the problem wld probably be sorted out in the next release of the software. :-(

Without testing, I would suggest to connect to the Media Center PC automatically using activesync or WiFi when starting WMCMR. Or let the user pick a server when starting the program. It saves the user a time-consuming step!

it won't work for me

my first problem was, that the vmc website comes up with "The http server release" for download, I doesn't work. It only works with the normal Beta release of vmc controller. (confused me for about 2 hours)
the second problem is probably with my router, there will never be a connection between my x1 and my computer even though they are connected to the same wlan router. Not even god (if that guy exists) could make it happen. anyway, it works with usb cable and activesync.
Now... when I put in my ip and press connect, it connects and than disconnects immediately after that (just like stated before by some other guy).
I don't have the slightest clue about all the ports, ipv6 things, command promps and so on, I dont know anything about it. I just opend the two ports 40400 and 40500 and it still doesn't work. restarted everything, it failed again.

My OS is Vista home premium x64 and im pretty sure activesync is connected properly.

But dont get me wrong, great program, could be a panel to download or even a program for the marketplace. but maybe OP or microsoft should make it a bit more user-friendly, chances that the average person (computer IT unaware person) installs it properly are under 1%.

Hello, I've tried it on my Omnia 2 and it's great, but the arrows, the OK and the back buttons are missing.. I can connect it to my PC easily, when I tap eg. Movies library from the menu, MC opens Movies library, it works very nice, but without the arrows/OK/back it's kinda bad because I cannot move through the movies etc. Could you please try to find out where is the problem? I'm using WM 6.5.3 (some LITE ROM from Modaco). Thanks a lot, this app is really great and I would love to use it

newer version coming shortly, just ironing out a few bugs on the server side.

Any ideas when the new version will come? I use your program daily with my HTPC and it is just awesome!
For now i just change the date to a date before Aug 8, 2010.
Can't you just remove the datecheck in version 0.6 and 0.7 until the new version is out?
