Hi guys,

I was watching a Youtube video showing up the new HTC Wildfire with an awesome feature, pressing an hardware key you have access to an homescreen from where you can run the widget you desire.

So I´ve decided to create a small app for our Rhodium:

Name: HomeScreenJump for TouchPro 2
Version: 2.0

Description: HomeScreen from where you can jump to the Manila Tab you want.
Tabs available: Home, People, Messages, Mail, Weather, Twitter, Music, Photos&Videos, Call History, eReader, Documents, GPS Tracker, Settings, Calendar, Internet, Manila TV, Stocks, Footprints, Facebook and Programs Tabs.

Change Log 12-06-2010:

• One Cab Installer.
• Fullscreen view (no more WM6.5 buttons).

Change Log 07-06-2010:

• 3x3 grid with 9 Tab links
• 20 Manila Tabs available now
• Wallpaper changer easy to skin
• Favorite wallpaper - you need to copy your favorite wallpaper to \Program Files\HomeScreenJump\Wallpapers with the name "favorite.jpg"
• Option to choose which tabs to show

Instructions steps:

1. Remove previous cabs (HSJ Basefiles.cab & HomeScreenJump.cab), and delete \Program Files\Homescreenjump folder in your device
2. Install the "HomeScreenJump.cab" in attach (device)

3. Optional - If you want to launch the HomeScreenJump from the TP2 Start Menu Hardware key (which is the best way to run it):
- Install "RhodiumKbdControl_GSM.CAB" and dont reset yet. (device)
- Install "dotcompt TP2 Start Menu Hardware Key remap.cab" (device)

4. Restart

Now by holding down the TP2 Start Menu hardware key for a second the homescreenJump will open and you can choose the manila Tab you want to go.


Note: This app was only tested on TouchPro 2 and it will probably work on other devices but definitely you have to skip step 3 that is exclusive for TP2 devices.

awesome mod dot. i installed the first .cab and used keyboard config that was already in the rom to run it on long press home key.... thanks!!!

Might I suggest this thread be shifted into the Windows Software Development or the Windows Apps and Games section so more people can enjoy your work?

Interesting concept... you just need to make it flexible by reading the registry for active tabs instead of hardcoding and you have a winner

• Option to choose which tabs to show
• 3x3, 3x4, or 3x5 grid
• Some eye-candy animations
• Live or last-visit based preview

Shouldn't be too hard except for the last one, but if you can detect which tab the user is on, screen capture is easy in C#/VB.NET

Exactly what I was going to suggest. A very nice little app, but with a few tweaks it could be absolutely amazing.
