Solution for "Error type 2" message

If you got the "Error type 2" message (see the attached screenshot) when trying to launch a secret code (in the 'Secret Codes' menu) or 'CSC Changer', 'CSC Verifier', 'ServiceMode MAIN MENU' (in the 'Other Tools' menu), you need to update SuperSU app to the version 2.49 (currently still Beta) or later, and also update its binaries.

Here is how:
- Download the zip file at http://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
- Extract and get the Superuser.apk file from the 'common' folder inside it.
- Install Superuser.apk, it will ask to update the binaries to the latest version. Let it update.
- Reboot the phone.

FAQs:

#01: After I received OTA with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the 'Original CSC Code' is empty. And also there are no usage counters anymore (Headset connect, charger connect... counters). What's causing this? On Lollipop it was fine.

Since Android 6.0 Marshmallow update (or even Android 5.x on some devices), it needs root to read the usage counters. It also needs root to read the 'Original CSC' information (in the tab 'CSC CODE').
It is due to Samsung has strengthened its security policy in the latest firmware.
If you have root, you will see those info.

#02: The app just hang and not responsible.

If your phone has root, please make sure that the SuperSU app is also installed. You can find the SuperSU app on the Play Store.

It means Samsung does not track for warranty bit on your phone. It is under warranty.

You can check for Warranty Void Bit right from the app, without booting the phone into the Download Mode (Odin Mode).
