My current experience with Sidebar as of now.
There are not as many little bugs, most are limitations in Android itself, but nothing that affect myself.
- Those limitations being, the notification glitch, without having the notification android kills it.
- Apps take longer to launch when current app is your default launcher.
The look is amazing, originally I was looking for a unity-esque side launcher, but this is so much more.
First, it looks cleaner than unity, by coping the aesthetic of windows 7.
Also it allows for task management, which I find conflicts with the Android's built in task manager and appears to duplicate app instances, but overall looks and functions pretty well.
You simply slide the icon off the bar to kill the app, or touch the icon to naturally open it.
A plus with the pro version, is that you can pin as many apps as you'd like. Plus there's the ability to pin widgets such as
home, pause song, wifi and many more toggles. Currently shortcut to activities have been removed, but with the new, better caching system, I have a feeling they'll be added back
The scrolling of the sidebar could be more fluid; as in keep up with my finger better, but overall performance was fine and the app itself has a very small resource footprint.
This app has come a long way, and I can't wait for themes and easy icon rearrangement.
Good luck Mohammad.
