Please post an idle dump as per instructions in the first few posts as that will help us identify the culprit/s, hopefully. Screenshots and partial info from an idle/in-use dump are not going to help. The dump as a whole has to be analysed and not in piecemeal.Just got a new S21 Ultra (512GB/16GB RAM variant if that matters), and I transferred everything from my old S8+ using smart switch (including apps).
The problem I was facing was that the battery drain was persistent on the new device which surprised me because it was a new phone.
Downloaded BBS (the newest version that was available as RC from the first post), provided permissions using ADB but it still wasn't working (no stats collected etc issue).
Downloaded and installed an older version (2.5.3xx something), provided permissions via ADB and it was working.
The biggest problem related to battery drain was something was using Google Play Services in the background at all times. Tried multiple fixes, enrolled in BETA and what not but to no avail.
Upon checking BBS now after 7-8 hours of sleep, I cannot see Kernel Wakelocks (gives the same no stats collected etc error) but at the ALARMS tab, I'm finding the following processes to be the culprit (screenshots attached as well).
- *job.deadline* having 75 alarms so far <<< Biggest case of drain I believe
- com.google.android.gms.gcm.ACTION_CHECK_QUEUE having 44 alarms
Also I'm seeing 2 separate com.google.android.gms on the alarms list.
Not posting the dump file since I'm not sure I qualify for posting it as per the first post and meeting all the criteria, but if someone wants I can post it.
Furthermore, I have uninstalled every single app from my phone now and only keeping WhatsApp and BBS, some I have disabled as well such as Messages from Google which was there by default.
I'm racking my brain now, should I just factory reset the phone and when using smart switch to just transfer messages, photos and files? And not the apps? Should I just proceed to set it up as a completely new phone and transfer every thing manually?
relate to Doze and should be harmless. Trying to limit them will result the drain spinning out of control. The numbers are not the criteria. What they do and in what time frame are more important.
relates to your mobile signal. We have to see the full dump since info connected to it is elsewhere.
