Hello @HootanParsa.

I'm currently searching my socks off, on how to copy without too much effort GPX files from my Garmin GPSmap64s to my smartphone running on Android 7.0.1 (not rooted)

Every single app I tried, that is made specifically for this task fails on Android 6/7 because of the removed direct access to OTG/USB media.
Most app developers I contacted say the effort is too much to implement the access via Storage Access Framework(SAF).

So my last resort is to do this via tasker and MiXplorer.

Do you think this is possible?
Can you tell my what Intent I have to use to tell MiXplorer to copy a whole folder with either skipping already present files or force overwrite present files in target?

My source would look like:
/mnt/media_rw/9000-EEEE/Garmin/GPX/
and the target like:
/storage/9000-BBBB/Garmin/

Thanks.
Hi jexxer,
From the next version:

Action:
com.mixplorer.ACTION_COPY

Extras:
src: /mnt/media_rw/9000-EEEE/Garmin/GPX
dst: /storage/9000-BBBB/Garmin
mode: OVERWRITE or SKIP or KEEP_BOTH

Package: com.mixplorer
Class: com.mixplorer.BroadcastReceiver
Target: Broadcast Receiver

If there was any problem, please let me know. Thanks.

Thank you all.
Great. Would love to check this one especially:
Code:
Fixed and improved text editor to load and search within the large files.
I hope I can ditch quickedit app finally

Edit: Unfortunately... still cuts files into sections. No way to search anything from whole file. Back to QuickEdit
:(

You can but it starts searching from the current section and stops on the first section which contains the word.
This is a text editor; A powerful one. If you just like to search a word within the huge file and have all the results at the same time, then open it with Html viewer. But if you still like to have full view with MiX editor same as simple text editors (they are slow and crash on large files depends on the file size and RAM), export settings > search for '\nfull_view_size=0'. If you couldn't find it, add it like this:

From:
"text_editor":"xyz"
To:
"text_editor":"xyz\nfull_view_size=5242880"
Then import the settings.

Maximum size for full view mode will be 5 MiB.
:)

Let me show in video what I mean:
MiXplorer Text Editor
QuickEdit text Editor

By the way, I searched the exported settings file but couldnt find the line you said. So I tried to add it as shown in red. Then imported settings but it is still same. Can you check whether I did correct? I saw there is no empty spaces so I put a comma before it

The format of config file is Json (minified (no spaces)), then you can't put text out of delimiters. Anyway, the "text_editor" part is there: you can see it on the second screenshot in the 5th line.
So, you can add the suggested parameter like this, for example:
Where you have: \nfontsize=32 you can add after, so you will have \nfontsize=32\nfull_view_size=5242880

Thanks. I did the same. But behavior didnt change.

Edit. After I opened the same file, I found the part to be edited below the part you suggested to edit (encircled with violet in attachment).

Funny that mixplorer text editor returned "no results" when I searched for exactly same keyword
:confused::confused:

Nevertheless, I removed the part where I added "nfull_view_size=5242880" and edited the "nfull_view_size=o" to "nfull_view_size=5242880", saved, imported and now I can open big texts!

Thanks HootanParsa and Sr. Zé Alguém! You saved me big time!

@Eleo how much extra RAM does MiXplorer use when opening files that way, compared to before? (and what's the size of the text file?)
@HootanParsa, there is a crash with the Archive dialog, when selecting compression level for XZ format. Steps:
1. Make sure the last used format is XZ so the dialog opens on this format.
2. When we try to change the compression level, MiXplorer immediately crash.

@Eleo how much extra RAM does MiXplorer use when opening files that way, compared to before? (and what's the size of the text file?)
All files above 20kB-30kB opened partially before. The biggest file I have on the phone is 500kB log file. And MiXplorer took only 65MB RAM when I opened that file. I mostly open 80-100kB files

I tried two more big files. A modem.log with 20300 lines and 2.1MB size, and logcat.log with 15400 lines and 1.6MB size.

Modem.log opened in 14 seconds. RAM used by MiXplorer was 180MB and the scrolling was a bit stuttering (I will attach files if you want to test yourself). Same file opened in QuickEdit took 53MB RAM (QuickEdit is ONLY text editor app, unlike MiXplorer, which is also file explorer) and file was opened in 6 seconds and for scrolling experience you can view the video shared below.

Logcat.log opened in 25-30 seconds. RAM used by MiXplorer was 105MB and again, scrolling a bit stuttering. It took 8 seconds for QuickEdit to open file and it took 58.5 MB memory in RAM and for scrolling experience you can view the video shared below.

Especially at first seconds of openning the log files, the phone froze for about 5-10 seconds with open keyboard. I suppose it was collecting cache.

I tried two things two decrease scroll stutter: removed "highlight as", then unwrap text. It decreased stutter and scroll was better. But, it again was not as fluent. Though the highlight is very useful in case of MiXplorer that is not available on other text editors.

Openning and scrolling through big files in QuickEdit

P.S. I noticed one more thing. When wrap is enabled, scrolling through modem.log, I couldnt get scroll bar (the one on the right side used to drag around for scrolling different parts of file) after 19320th line (it was not visible or touchable). After that I could only swipe with finger. No matter what I do, scroll bar didnt appear after 19320th line with wrap enabled. After unwrap, I could again use scrollbar till the end.

My device is note3 with 3GB RAM and quadcore 2.3GB Snap800 CPU running port MM ROM with balanced kernel.

Attachment includes both files in a zipped folder for those who want to test. Files were donated by a user to public XDA threads that is why I am finding it not cruel to share them here
:D

P.P.S. You can see seconds on the video. Video was not fast forwarded. Also you can see CPU frequency (F), free RAM memory (M), CPU temperature (T) and battery discharge current (I) in statusbar on the video.

Additionally, seems the intents for taking files coming externally don't seem to work too well. If an app shares a file to MiXplorer (for it to save somewhere, or to go to the clipboard, so you can paste), it replies in a toast "files only", regardless of the filetype sent, and just ignores the action altogether.

Uhh please ignore this part, as I'm seeing this only applies to the Seafile Android client. Dropbox shows the MixPlorer correct window when exporting a file, and allows mixplorer to paste your file wherever you choose. I'll let the Seafile team know.

Thanks!

I'd like to remove QuickEdit too but the above trick doesn't work on my end. After importing the new settings I'm still unable to find a text in a "big" text file (2300 lines - 144Kb)
idk what I did wrong...

I think you misread the part where I said

I attached the image again, emlhasizing on the encircled with violet region. It didnt end up in seaech via both quickedit and mixplorer text editor. So I suppose you will need to find the region manually.

After that, I could open even 20000 line text in one section.

Primokorn, Eleo... ( and anyone else ) While you get MiX's editor features sorted out, why don't you check 920 ?

Not only it's the most powerful editor I know of, it is open source ( I mentioned it before in case the code helps Hootan ) with no analytics, no advertising, nor Play dependencies. ( Latest version requires WebView though. Up to build 26, it does not even need WebView. )

Well, it took bigger space in RAM (82MB wrt 58MB). Scrolling was awfully laggy and stuttering (worse than MiXplorer text editor). Opened same text again with QuickEdit... very fluent. Not even one stutter.

Also, for 920, the line number part has very large margin that cannot be adjusted from settings.

I have webview installed

@Ultramanoid @Eleo I just want to reduce the number of installed apps. QuickEdit works flawlessly with big files. I deny Internet connections with AFWall+.
I'll keep QuickEdit I think since even with nfull_text_view in the settings, it doesn't work well.

Is there a specific reason (performance? limitations?) that the scroll bar in the text editor is different from the one used in the file explorer itself?

When I'm playing music with the app I can't play or pause with the buttons on my bluetooth headphones. I don't have this problem with any other apps so is this just a feature that hasn't been added yet?
I don't know if @HootanParsa is going to incorporate such a feature but don't forget: This is a multifunctional file explorer, not a music player.

I'm trying to edit a manifest xml file. This is what it looks like when I open it in MiXplorer. Can somebody help me
I don't think it's an issue with MiXplorer, but a 'limitation', if that's the right word, of Android to view .xml files of a certain type. I'm also trying to edit an .xml in an app (just want to change it so it will rotate 180°, the way I use my tablet), but getting similar even in so-called 'xml editors' for Android.

I often edit .xml files to modify, for instance, settings files, but those are external files, and not manifest.xml files.

I'm fairly ignorant about this, so take what I say as an uninformed opinion.

My first guess is that the file contains Unicode and you are using an editor that does not handle Unicode.

What you posted does not look like XML.
Can you tell what editor you are using?

Try dumping a little with hexdump (or xxd or od). Post the dump as a text file and maybe someone can say with more certainty if that's the problem.

Try a few editors outside of Mixplorer.

AndroidManifest.xml is converted into a binary inside an APK -- It needs to be converted back to text, actual XML, before being able to view it or edit it.

Some Android applications can do it, see for instance :

If you see garbage, you're trying to edit it in binary form. Can't do that.

    @HootanParsa
In the latest builds stable and beta I get a similar (I think) error, related to the HTML Viewer, but not to the cloud storage. When I try to open a text file with the HTML Viewer, I get the "com.android.htmlviewer Not found!" error and after a couple of seconds MiX unexpected closure.
Not sure when this started happening, but in the stable B21041410 everything is fine.
    Thanks!
    @HootanParsa
In the latest build B21041720 the HTML Viewer is working fine.
    Thanks! 👍

So, I downloaded Mixplorer, it's packed with features and has a good UI but has a bug, when I move an image to another folder, the image moves but still appears in the old folder when viewing through a photo app though when you check such photo path, it shows the new folder it was moved to but the photo appears in old collection. For example you moved photos from Facebook folder to another folder named "meme", when you open your photo app, the photo you moved still appears in the Facebook collection as before but checking the properties will show it's located in the meme folder. Another funny stuff is when I go to my file manager (same with Mixplorer) I see the newly moved photos in the file I moved it to but with a photo viewer, it's another story.

Can you please fix the problem

    Phone: Tecno K9 (it's pretty ****)
    Android ver.: Android 7
    Root status: Not rooted
If I am understanding correctly, that doesn't sound like a problem with MiX, but rather your photo app is displaying a cached copy of the photo.

Check More Settings in MiX and try checking Update media store if it isn't checked.

I have updated the XDA version of MiXplorer (The Standard). If there is a new problem, please let me know. Thank you.

I see Google Play has replied to one of my old messages and apologized for delay response. Only 4 months delay! :) I'm sure there are great and professional people working in Play team and they're doing their best but I really can't bother myself to contact them anymore.
I won't push the publish button for the Silver version which is finally reviewed after 2 days but shared with pirate websites some hours before that. I'm uploading another build as an app bundle and as you should know no one has access except Play team as always. I hope they will do their best.
    19
I finally experienced Android 11 and its scoped storage on a real phone. What a crap! The Android media scanner wasn't enough!
I published multiple experimental builds with target SDK 30 and 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' permission before but I found some issues on emulator which are not reproducible on my device and I didn't know there is a huge difference on performance. So I will change the target to 30 with 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' for the stable and beta versions.
For the Silver version, I improved the performance as much as possible but as you should know Google Play doesn't allow 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' permission, so there is nothing I can do about it for now.
    17
Oh please let's stop with all this indignation about what is a relatively small issue which occurred only recently and about which we've not yet heard from the developer since it was reported just a few days ago. Statements about how the app cannot be used if it's this way or how could it possibly have been left in this absolutely world ending horrible condition don't help. It's been reported and other people who don't even care tested and gave a +1. Now would be an appropriate time to wait for a developer response, and to do so knowing that they are sometimes away from the thread for a while.
    15
There is a leak in Play console and store services and people still have access to the apps that are not published. It is completely unacceptable. Users have contacted me about this and even insulted me for the late publish while it's accessible from pirate websites and this is Play team who is responsible for that. It's happening for a very long time and they haven't done anything about it. I have contacted them long before and they said they're not responsible. Probably Aliens are! :)
Thanks to @EuK_V for the investigation.
    14
As many of you already know, some days ago I updated the Silver version which has many problems because Google is insisting we should build App Bundle instead of APK. So I finally did it but I didn't know it's going to modify the manifest for so called 'optimization' and change the default value of 'extractNativeLibs' to false which makes so much problems in this app. After some minutes I found out what's the problem and as Google document says I should add a Gradle option 'android.bundle.enableUncompressedNativeLibs=false' to prevent it. I'm still not 100% sure that it's going to work but I did and uploaded the new build to Play console. It was an important update because many lovely users got angry and started giving 1 star or contacting me and reporting issues one after another. I'm mentally under pressure since then and waiting for Play to review the app. But 1 day passed and not only they didn't, instead they searched around to find an irrelevant issue to reject the update. They sent me a message and told me there is an issue with some words inside the description of the app. The description which they have reviewed some hundred times during years. Check the screenshot. They had problem with this "area":
'Html viewer which supports MHT, Markdown, AXml, CHM, MAFF and...'.
So I rather to remove them and saved it for the review but another day passed and nothing except that my app is already on many websites. I built an app bundle and uploaded only to Play console but it's now all over the web as an APK with my signature and lovely users are sending feedback about it while it's not even reviewed by Google Play! I'm mentally so tired. I really can't contact Play developer support team anymore. Because I know they're busy and can't help or even answer me. The last time I contacted was the last year. There was an error in Play Console saying there is an issue with your developer account and I sent many messages to both Play console and Google Pay asking why can't users pay for the app and what is the error about but they never answered me. But they answered to every single buyers and told them that developer is responsible for that. No selling for 2 months. I just kept reading documents and sending messages and personal documents to their bots I guess until the Pay button got activated.
If they review the app, I'm not sure if I should publish the app this time. I need an official and professional answer to this question that how is it possible that the app which I've uploaded only to Play console is all over the web and signed with my signature? Is there any other section in Google company I can contact about this issue?
