Minor correction. Android doesn't use bash. The default shell is an open source Korn variant from Mir BSD called mksh. Many (most) things are the same as in bash but there are differences. The default busybox shell is a shell called the Almquist shell (ash). It also has hush available. Both are simpler shells, basically Bourne shells.
