I came up with a workaround of my own also, and posted just a few posts back. But thanks, and I'll also try your workaround to see if that works.

I don't think my workaround would work for the folder in data/data/...
Would have to be a folder on internal storage for my work around to work.
I'm glad you figured out a way to get what you wanted.

I see what you're saying now. You're trying to have two of the same directory on separate tabs, which I can see Mix doesn't allow. I have a work around that you can use to achieve this though. Let's assume your home tabs are both sdcard/Download. Open Download in one tab. Then in the other tab open root/data/media/0/Download. Then set one as default. Then save tabs.

Doesn't work in the Root folder of /data/data/(then the rest of the path to the Home symlink. It was worth a try, tho!

Note: seems we were both writing at the same time... :)

The copy and move options doesn't work on mixplorer in Android folder in android 11
Even I made mixplorer as system app but still can't copy files from this folder or move files to it ,even I have root

But Google files app on play store can do it!

Same problem as a few others, I managed to copy something from android/data to a computer by mtp/USB, you could try that, think will have to wait to get the app updated to be able to do it on the phone
I don't think it's possible to fix with an app update. Mix already has All Files Access. See screenshot below from https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage/manage-all-files

I have root on Android 11 and I can see and copy files from InternalStorage/Android/data just fine.

Did you mount that folder as Read/Write as I suggested, and then try copy or move functions??

NOTE: Well, once again, seems BB and I were writing at the same time. Of course, his solution is the correct one, so do it that way.

The error i am getting is EACCES (Permission denied) I did some reading and it seemed to point to this scoped storage

https://www.androidcentral.com/what-scoped-storage
its the only change that I could see as I had no issues on android 10, when I get a chance will try your suggestion of going in via root/data/media/0/Android/data

thanks for the suggestion

I have run into another issue with MiX that I cannot find an answer for. The answer may well be within this thread, but with 3400 pages of info, even the search function isn't much of a help to me. Here is what I'm facing:

I hate to keep bringing up the name of another file manager in this thread, I know it's 'bad form', but for the last 4 years I've only used that file manager, so my experience has to be referenced to that one. My old FX Explorer had a Network connection to my PC (running Arch Linux) that I would use to transfer files off the PC to the phone. My avg speeds were very close to 56Mbs on most filetypes. So, that is what I'm using as a reference to MiX.

A little while ago, I read all the FAQ info pertaining to Storage connections, and types, and such. The only one I could see to set up to connect to my PC was by using SFTP, so I did that, and it connects well and immediately. Once connected to my PC, I copied a OOS rom file, 1.1Gb in size, from the PC to the phone, and it was horribly slow! It showed the DL speed at only 5.8Mbs and took about 6.5 minutes to complete. I fired up FX Explorer, connected to my PC, and copied the exact same file to the phone as a test, and the DL speed was 54Mbs and took only 40 secs or so.

When I set up the Network connection in FX, I didn't have to preface the IP address with anything like sftp:// like I had to do with MiX. I just used the plain IP address of like 192.168.1.101 and that was that. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with my slow DL speeds using MiX or not, but something is, for sure! There should be no reason that there is so much of a difference using the same file for DL, from the same PC, to the same phone. Right?

Would anyone have any suggestions for me as to how I can increase the DL speed of MiX? It would be a big help! TIA!

IMO there's no harm or foul in mentioning another app in order to work towards improvements - it's not as if you are merely advertising that other app.

There are other ways including FTP with either device as client, SMB with android as guest to computer and TCP with computer as guest to android. You could try switching the client/server roles of the devices in the FTP exchange or try a Samba share to see if that is better. Whatever connection type you are using, if it has a "thumbnails=" advanced property you could place a 0 after it (thumbnails=0) to disable them as they eat a lot of bandwidth. These suggestions would not make up the entire difference if any at all and all but might be informative.

See if you can find a description of the connection in FX.

....duplicated the folder using the name Home2, saved the tabs --- now, then restarted MiX, and it worked as I want it. I get two open tabs, the first being default 'Home', and the second being 'Home2'....
i'd like to have just 2 tabs with the same width, regardless of the length of the name (it could be centred, for all i care). there has been a request for flexibility a long time back. disappointing if there is no other way to have same width for the tabs. couldn't find much else when i searched for 'tab width' here and in the FAQ thread. anyone else have any ideas? :D

I just started using MiX today, so that's WAY above my pay-grade!

FX calls it's connection type as being SSH FTP, which is why I went with a SFTP connection in MiX. But maybe they aren't the same???

SFTP is different from FTPS. I don't know if either is "SSH FTP".

Maybe more to the point: Are you aware of running a server on your Linux machine? What kind?

What device are you on? The titanium backup folder on my pixel 3a is internal storage/TitaniumBackup and mixplorer can copy files from there, what error you getting with usb/MTP?
It happens on my Pixel 5, Windows just shows me "Error while copying the file or folder: Unknown error" (translated from German).

If you have root then try going to Android/data this way root/data/media/0/Android/data
I have root on Android 11 and I can see and copy files from InternalStorage/Android/data just fine.
That seems to work indeed, thanks!

Not the same (see below) but you seem to be using the right one for your situation.

From here: https://www.howtogeek.com/194740/what-is-the-difference-between-ftps-and-sftp/.

FTPS is FTP with SSL for security. It uses a control channel and opens new connections for the data transfer. As it uses SSL, it requires a certificate.

SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol/Secure File Transfer Protocol) was designed as an extension of SSH to provide file transfer capability, so it usually uses only the SSH port for both data and control.

In most SSH server installations you will have SFTP support, but FTPS would need the additional configuration of a supported FTP server.

...When I set up the Network connection in FX, I didn't have to preface the IP address with anything like sftp:// like I had to do with MiX. I just used the plain IP address of like 192.168.1.101 and that was that.

Not speaking to the transfer speeds this time (except to acknowledge in passing that they do seem slower in MiX than other apps in some instances) but to add some clarity about SFTP and FTP/FTPS and MiX functionality.

- MiXplorer can run an FTP server which can use SSL for security (FTPS), or not (FTP) - select-able by radio-box "Secure" in the server properties.

- MiXplorer can access remote FTP/FTPS servers like so [Open Drawer > Hamburger > Add storage> FTP (S, ES)] but it seems that we must add the S for FTPS in the bookmark (Is this correct?)

- MiXplorer can access remote SFTP resources like so [Open Drawer > Hamburger > Add storage > SFTP] and the SFTP prefix is included in the bookmark without having to be entered manually.

Maybe this is a case of one app (FX) making a particular action (remote SFTP access) convenient without revealing the parameters and requirements that are being used, while another app (MiX) pulls back the mask showing what is actually there and offering more user configurable options... or perhaps FX is somehow auto-detecting things but then if multiple things are detected which would be used and is FX or the user deciding? Or maybe FX handles that with another choice made at a different point in the workflow of creating the "bookmark"

In any event, @Oblias, IIRC most of MiXlorer's remote connection options (including the SFTP bookmark which you mentioned) do include a relevant server/protocol prefix. Apart from manually having to add S to FTP for FTPS and in rare tech geeky instances having to manually change the @N+1 values which precede same IP addresses allowing multiple connections to same server, where are prefixes (SFTP, etc) not being included when you create a bookmark?

You have been extremely helpful, and I have much information now. For the time being, I'll use MiX for transfer of smaller files off my PC, and when I need to do a large file transfer, I'll just go ahead and use the old data cable method. Sometime down the road I'll dig into this issue more. Thanks again!!

I have a root app here on XDA which has many functions. One of them do a find down into the data folders of other apps looking for sqlite databases.. I have not changed anything and I just did a test on Android 11, and was upset to see MiX only showed its own data folder. My app retrieved all the data for all apps.

I have NOT done the
Code:
Rooted apps that require access to a wider set of data will have to implement the namespace management.
from the first URL.

The second URL may provide an explanation. I have specifically marked the project as targeting API26
Code:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="11" android:targetSdkVersion="26"/>
I do not get any warnings on starting the app that it targets a lower API than Android 11. And the poster appears to be saying they are seeing the same.

Does anyone know what is meant by "This can be easily done in libsu by adding a flag in config." in the third URL? i.e. how do we easily set this config flag?

From what I understand, those scoped storage restrictions apply only if an app targets api 30 (android 11). Since your app doesn't, it can access data/data just fine while Mixplorer can't because it targets 11

Maybe @AndroidDeveloperLB can help?

With the latest beta, I have found that the only folders I see under /data/data are the folders for MiXplorer and what looks like Google Play Services, but no other apps. Is there something that I can do to see all the files in there including those from other apps (or is this a result of the new scoped services).

I tried searching through the thread, but have not been able to find anything that talked to this - thought it may also be that I can't effectively search with the new XDA.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

There have been similar reports but it is hard to say if they correlate to your circumstances without knowing more details. If you search the thread for "/data/data" you will find those posts and can see if they are related to your situation. Using a web browser makes it easier and I have confirmed that this search works.

Also, recently, in the last few pages of the FAQ, there is a note containing a possible work around workaround, but again whether or not that is applicable depends on your device details.

If it turns out you are not experiencing what has been discussed you can log the issue and share the log along with device details to help the developer and others figure it out.

I assume that this is a comment/suggestion to the developer and not to me. Let me know if I am incorrect.
This was exactly for you, install the MiX build with API 29 in the name for your A11 device

Thank you for the assistance. I have tried to search through the web (and not the app) I didn't see anything that relates directly. In any case, I am running LOS 18.1 (11) on a Moto G6 Plus. I have created and attached a log. Hopefully that is helpful in determining the issue.

And - thanks all for the assistance.
If you are not rooted or don't want to switch to global namespace in Magisks "Mount namespace Mode", you can use the Mixplorer builds from the second post of this thread with "sdk29" in the name.
But you can't use the Beta versions in this case, so if you rely on fixes in the beta builds, you have to wait for the next stable release or switch to global namespace in Magisk.

For Android 11, use SDK 29 (not SDK 30) MiX build to avoid that limitations imposed by Google in A11

@sgon00, if I was not off the grid this semantic confusion would have been cleared up a couple of pages ago.

Yes indeed, the search results are not saved but rather it is the search criteria that are saved and then rescanned upon bookmark selection. As mentioned the documentation for this is a work in a progress, but that change will be included When I get this into the FAQ period thanks for the reminder.
Thank you very much for your time, reply, help and work. :)

I think my brain needs rest. I will come back soon. :)

I have updated the XDA version of MiXplorer (The Standard). If there is a new problem, please let me know. Thank you.

I see Google Play has replied to one of my old messages and apologized for delay response. Only 4 months delay! :) I'm sure there are great and professional people working in Play team and they're doing their best but I really can't bother myself to contact them anymore.
I won't push the publish button for the Silver version which is finally reviewed after 2 days but shared with pirate websites some hours before that. I'm uploading another build as an app bundle and as you should know no one has access except Play team as always. I hope they will do their best.
    19
I finally experienced Android 11 and its scoped storage on a real phone. What a crap! The Android media scanner wasn't enough!
I published multiple experimental builds with target SDK 30 and 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' permission before but I found some issues on emulator which are not reproducible on my device and I didn't know there is a huge difference on performance. So I will change the target to 30 with 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' for the stable and beta versions.
For the Silver version, I improved the performance as much as possible but as you should know Google Play doesn't allow 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' permission, so there is nothing I can do about it for now.
    19
Let's experience the scoped storage with this build.
I had to search million lines of codes in all libraries I'm using for the methods which make the app slow because of this masterpiece (SS) and its high level of programming.
Add > Document provider > Find and select every single default folder in the root of storage, if it's allowed by the Center.
It's all for our security and privacy for sure as the Center says but I personally rather to turn off my phone and hide under the bed. :)
    19
Imagine the Police comes to your property and says we thought your doors are open to everyone. Are they?! Yes, people come inside, do whatever they want and then leave. So for your protection, security, privacy, whatever, you must gain permission from us to use your every single room. What about my warehouse? Forget that one! Bathroom is also gonna be locked and since now you have to use the common public bathroom under our protection.
    Thank you Police! 😽
