Yeah, you're obviously speechless.
If you agree, I will share all the beautiful emails you've sent me with others from all your different accounts in recent years.
You've been in a deep pain by using MiX for years. I just don't understand why you don't stop using it.
Anyway I just always wanted to tell you don't send me the log from the versions you've downloaded from the pirate websites. Only send me from that Play store version.
I agree 100%
At least use a legit version :)

You have a made a fantastic app and Ii think 99% of people can see that.

Im buying the silver to support 💰🪙

Thanks but I can't reproduce the error. Maybe I've already fixed it. Try the latest BETA and if it didn't work, please give me enough information for testing.
Tried with the latest beta. the same thing happens.
I also tried to add again my account. the result is the same.
I'm attaching the log file.

Are you sending the log from the main menu > 'Send log' or you just making them? I need to know how to reproduce the bug step by step.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I've sent the log created by the application in Android\data\com.mixplorer.beta\cache\log.
I'm attaching another one, from the beginning.

Please after an error occurred, tap on 3-dots menu > Send Log > Copy the the result and send it to me.
I still don't know which app you're using to edit your files.
Thank you.

Thank you.
I'm opening the file with Google sheets.
Attached the log created as you said. Hope it helps.
Strange is that it doesn't return any error, is just that popup window that used to say "saving" and show you the uploaded data, doesn't appear anymore.
Thanks.
Edit: maybe it helps you. I upload a log file from an earlier version of Mixplorer where the saving works.

I am copying a folder with about 1700 files in it. Mix explorer only copies 2 files then reads 'file copy failed'.

I also tried by .zip the whole folder (2.2mb) qnd then extract it. The same thing happened. Only two folders are copied.

My log is attached.

Thank you very much.

@HootanParsa Dear Hootan, you're so quick and eager for constant updates ... thank you very much!
But what is the difference between:
v6-52-4-beta_b21030110-apk.5236411 and
v6-52-4_b21030110-apk.5236413 ... both have the same build number?

Edit: Question has already been answered - thank you!

Hi all.

I have a Philips TV with AndroidTV 9 integrated and use Mixplorer Silver to manage files in it. I connected a external USB to it and formated as external storage with the wizard of the TV.

If I try to edit/delete files or create a new one MiXplorer asks to grant external permissions as it does in smartphones or tablets, but when I press OK to do so a notification appears saying Could not do it or not possible, so I do not have write access to the drive even if I had formated with the TV wizard.

I am able to write and delete files in Kodi as long as I use the "trick" of using the path /storage/"idOfUSB"/Android/data/org.xbmc../files, but MiXplorer is not able to do it even in the same path, so I do not know how am I supposed to grant permissions

Can anyone help me with this? BTW I am not able to use root commands in this case.

I had the same issue. In your first screenshot click on download above the MD5 key, what will take you to Hootan's G-drive. Go to the MiXplorer folder and download your desired version. I used this procedure about 3 hours ago.

I had the same problem going 6.52.1 to 6.52.3. I was confused because I couldn't find 6.52.3 on the download page of this thread. Somehow searching around here and the app never led me to any gdrive. APKmirror had this version 6.52.3, that's how I solved it.

To your point 6.52.3 seems to have been removed from post 2, which may (or may not) be an indication that a new version is incoming.

Also, following the in-app path to install add-ons will take you to the g drive where there are presently 2 variations of MiX 6.52.3 (regular and API30 ) and 1 of 6.52.4. The fact that 6.5 2.4 is not flagged there as beta might (or might not) be another indication of an impending update and hence the absence of the outgoing version from the OP.

Apart from problems with downloads which some people have reported recently, if the developer removed a version from the OP there was probably a reason for doing so. In those cases I usually wait to see what lands in that spot rather than going to other sources even though the material at those sources may be legitimate and safe.

All absolutely correct. I've downloaded v6.52.4 and installed it this morning/a few hours ago. If it were a beta it would have been installed as a seperate app but not over my former v6.52.1

Thanks. I've looked around there too. But the first add-on took me to the Play Store and I didn't look any further. I now see that others do lead to the gdrive.
Also, when development is moving so fast and you are in doubt but want to stay on latest stable version the internal updater is the most reliable method.
Is that what I get by going to settings > about > update? Because that just led me to the same screen as x.trinity posted. Is there another or more automatic way of staying up to date?

FYI those distinctions (gdrive vs playstore) are mentioned in the 1st post of the FAQ as is much of this stuff.

Yes, (and also in FAQ ;)) that is the typical stable update path. Normally it would download and present the updates or a toast stating that you are on latest version, but some people your self included have had issues with it lately. The contents of those previous reports might be informative for you if you can find them, and then of course logs will help the developer figure out what's going on if they don't already know.

Tap on ADD in bottom toolbar > Document provider > Find and open your USB drive > Tap on "USE THIS FOLDER" or a button with different title to select it.
If there are other problems, let me know.

So, as I understand it, acessing android/data without fiddling with something root is needed for, we can't use MiX for that anymore if root is no option? Or does it mean @HootanParsa has to change that in his project before building MiX?

Very confusing and no solution I can do anything about I guess. I don't want/need root or Magisk or whatever.

Yes, and this is not uncommon in the development of Android, just a natural progression. With each of the last few Android version there have been changes in Google requirements and rules about apps accessing areas of the device that are not part of their own directory (and other things). For file managers which are designed to access the entire device this is a limitation which developers must work through... if that is possible. In addition to restrictive Google policies there are the different ways that they impact different apps on a different devices. In other words, much variability. Even some custom roms with root sometimes could not even access such locations on the same device.

So, when Google tries to prevent us from having the freedom that we want or require on our devices (merits of the restrictions aside) the developers try to work around it with information provided by the people who test. In that flow it is not uncommon for root to be required for a solution. In some cases a solution without requiring root may be found, and in other cases only the root solution may work.

@HootanParsa I think I'm having a bug logging into Mediafire with an email address that contains a "+" in it.
As you may know you can use gmail addresses with a +XXXX qualifier.
So for [email protected] you can also contact that address with [email protected]
My mediafire account is [email protected]. I am unable to use MiX to login to my mediafire with my "[email protected]" address, but I can use it without issue on mediafire site.

    Can you look into? thanks.

I had no issue to start with, I run my own version of Android. So you miss my point, was not referring to the specific problem. I was saying a discussion about Google's changes or restrictions is on topic in a file manager's thread, complaints and all.

Edit : In fact you can find plenty of complaints from Hootan too about anything Google all over the thread. Hardly off-topic or wasted. That's what I was commenting on.

I have updated the XDA version of MiXplorer (The Standard). If there is a new problem, please let me know. Thank you.

I see Google Play has replied to one of my old messages and apologized for delay response. Only 4 months delay! :) I'm sure there are great and professional people working in Play team and they're doing their best but I really can't bother myself to contact them anymore.
I won't push the publish button for the Silver version which is finally reviewed after 2 days but shared with pirate websites some hours before that. I'm uploading another build as an app bundle and as you should know no one has access except Play team as always. I hope they will do their best.
    19
I finally experienced Android 11 and its scoped storage on a real phone. What a crap! The Android media scanner wasn't enough!
I published multiple experimental builds with target SDK 30 and 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' permission before but I found some issues on emulator which are not reproducible on my device and I didn't know there is a huge difference on performance. So I will change the target to 30 with 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' for the stable and beta versions.
For the Silver version, I improved the performance as much as possible but as you should know Google Play doesn't allow 'MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE' permission, so there is nothing I can do about it for now.
    17
Oh please let's stop with all this indignation about what is a relatively small issue which occurred only recently and about which we've not yet heard from the developer since it was reported just a few days ago. Statements about how the app cannot be used if it's this way or how could it possibly have been left in this absolutely world ending horrible condition don't help. It's been reported and other people who don't even care tested and gave a +1. Now would be an appropriate time to wait for a developer response, and to do so knowing that they are sometimes away from the thread for a while.
    14
As many of you already know, some days ago I updated the Silver version which has many problems because Google is insisting we should build App Bundle instead of APK. So I finally did it but I didn't know it's going to modify the manifest for so called 'optimization' and change the default value of 'extractNativeLibs' to false which makes so much problems in this app. After some minutes I found out what's the problem and as Google document says I should add a Gradle option 'android.bundle.enableUncompressedNativeLibs=false' to prevent it. I'm still not 100% sure that it's going to work but I did and uploaded the new build to Play console. It was an important update because many lovely users got angry and started giving 1 star or contacting me and reporting issues one after another. I'm mentally under pressure since then and waiting for Play to review the app. But 1 day passed and not only they didn't, instead they searched around to find an irrelevant issue to reject the update. They sent me a message and told me there is an issue with some words inside the description of the app. The description which they have reviewed some hundred times during years. Check the screenshot. They had problem with this "area":
'Html viewer which supports MHT, Markdown, AXml, CHM, MAFF and...'.
So I rather to remove them and saved it for the review but another day passed and nothing except that my app is already on many websites. I built an app bundle and uploaded only to Play console but it's now all over the web as an APK with my signature and lovely users are sending feedback about it while it's not even reviewed by Google Play! I'm mentally so tired. I really can't contact Play developer support team anymore. Because I know they're busy and can't help or even answer me. The last time I contacted was the last year. There was an error in Play Console saying there is an issue with your developer account and I sent many messages to both Play console and Google Pay asking why can't users pay for the app and what is the error about but they never answered me. But they answered to every single buyers and told them that developer is responsible for that. No selling for 2 months. I just kept reading documents and sending messages and personal documents to their bots I guess until the Pay button got activated.
If they review the app, I'm not sure if I should publish the app this time. I need an official and professional answer to this question that how is it possible that the app which I've uploaded only to Play console is all over the web and signed with my signature? Is there any other section in Google company I can contact about this issue?
    13
There is a problem with installing the APK bundle I've uploaded in Play store. It doesn't extract the libraries and MiX can't execute shell commands without root. There are many problems with recent Silver versions. I will fix it soon.
