I have ANOTHER question, I made a zip file in MiXplorer, I connect my usb cable to laptop to move some files, the problem is, I can't see the files that I made (the zips), I tried moving it from folder in and out but its still the same, (still can't see it) is there an option for this that hides the files MiXplorer made?

I did some leeway to move the files in and out of folder with my other file manager (file manager+ from play store) and I refreshed the pc folder and its suddenly visible...

Hi, in previous I was able to extract/export album art from audio file, but now I don't find such option :( only remove option is available.

I'm not sure I completely understand your issue, but have you tried swiping down from the top of the screen to refresh the folder? I find that occasionally I need to do this to have MiX display updated contents.

Not sure I am understanding, but I have version 0.9, .10 (June 8, 2021) and .11 (June 9, 2021). I believe I got notifications in MiX to download them (through Google Drive).

Resolution should display in multiple places (doesn't always display in the detailed file list right away). I have all add-ons installed.

Prior to the update to archive add-on .11 there was some odd stuff going on between XDA and Play Store updates. As far as I can tell, if you've got a particular older version of the add-on the Play Store update will be visible. Here is a recap of previous and new observations.

As previously reported, after having installed an older version of the archive add-on manually (possibly .9 but not sure) an update from the Play Store became available for version .10 dated June 7th. On the same device, the update to .11 recently became available and was installed successfully through the MiX built-in updater. In Play store list of recently installed apps the .10 is still listed. On a different device which had an older version of the add-on the .10 version was also visible in Play Store. Lather rinse repeat. I think there is a significance to the date April 2nd which appeared in one iteration of the anomalous Play Store updates. EG add-on versions before that date trigger Play Store update but add-ons after do not... Or something like that. I'm not sure why it's even showing in Play Store at all. In any event it seems like we're re-converging back on version .11

An archive update on another device sheds more light. A thought that danced across my mind earlier but did not stick. This could be a byproduct of being weaned off of the Play Store version of the add-on and back to the XDA a versions.

On device is 3.9 - installed from playstore, as reported by the app properties in the OS.

A playstore update is available. I neglected to check which version but expect it is version .10.

An update B2106090 (June 6) is available through in app updater which reports the currently installed version to be 2104020 (April 2)

When the aforementioned June 6th update is applied then the app properties in the OS report being installed by package installer.

That should stop the appearance of Play Store updates, and more importantly the phantom toast which initially pointed me toward this rabbit hole is still fixed.

I have a bit of curiosity. Does the functionality of the Image viewer for images in the cloud rely on the resolution of the phone? Because when viewing images stored in the cloud, on a phone with a large screen such as a Moto G7 Power, I find that I can fully zoom in to the image at full quality. But when using a phone with a lower resolution, such as a Moto E6, I find that the images I view in the cloud are in a reduced quality that I cannot fully zoom in to. Is there a way to make the image viewer act more consistently for images stored in the cloud?

I only use the beta from XDA, no notifications or auto-update. I simply check the OP every so often. When ITM mentioned .10 was available on Play, I already had it, which means it must have been on XDA a few days before, from where I install.

( Now that you mention .11 I'll go get it, thanks ! )

I actually tried refreshing both app and the pc file explorer, another wierd thing is

I already move the x file out of the folder (mini folder), then I refresh the app, I refresh the pc FE then it loads a bit but still no sign of the file, I did the same method in my other FE, and it finally showed for some reason, and then I repeat the method in MiX, the wierd thing is I already switch the file location of the x file but after refreshing in pc, its still in the same place, I thought of moving it in my pc and it actually moved with all of the contents for some reason. I was completely baffled but I let it slide...

I know its too complicated to explain, but its like that I guess. MiX seems to have the tendency to hide the files it made, but no problems if its downloaded from internet and I use MiX to move its location, like apks and folders, but not zips made by the app.

why though? I already took the habit of viewing the image first before looking at the resolution... which kinda wierds me out

ANOTHER QUESTION

why is the image viewer of this app sometimesl pixelated when viewing average wuality images?

I have a screenshot of a manga for example

This one is from the app MiXplorer

the difference can be seen very carefully and it sometimes obstructs the reading of some texts because its too pixelated that I cant read it

If you have doubt about a file the details about where it came from and the file name are significant in determining if it is a false positive in a security app. Even though it may seem obvious could you clarify where you got the file and what the file name is?

[EDIT] Tested on Window 10 Pro machine with 3rd party AV (which automatically disables Defender's live scanning) and with Defender periodic scans disabled = no warnings for any of the new versions in the OPs of this thread.

could u make so that ftp servers can be started when the device connected via wifi direct? it works fine with wifi direct.
for now i must enable hotspot and start the ftp server, then turning the hotspot off, and then connect my devices with wifi direct just so that i could use the ftp server.

    Not nesting material critical to a particular function (especially when it is user data) within material critical to another function (which is app data) when those two functions operate independently and can be enabled and disabled independently and are treated differently by the OS may be important for reasons which were spoken to. In the highly variable and irregular android universe it may not be safe to put potentially important user Undo data into the .mixplorer folder (wherever the .mixplorer folder lives).

    EG, If a user has to clear MiX app data or uninstall then reinstall MiX, the .recycle folder will persist (confirmed in latest beta) thereby preserving the ability to restore items, but if .recycle were in the app directory it might be deleted under such circumstances or be more complicated for the developer to manage.

    Additionally, although I love folder cleanup, I don’t see how what you suggest could be done without one of the 3 thing happening: 1) jeopardize user data, 2) make management of recycle Bin and undo functions more difficult to implement, or 3) require that users have folder structures for both features (Recycle/undo and .mixplorer folder in root) when they only need one.

    If I seem persnickety about this that is because, I am what I am, but also motivated by the fact that people may try to put the responsibility of lost data on the developer even when it is the result of user action or inaction in situations where the consequences of that action or inaction was not understood or was ignored.

    At the bottom of the undo pop up menu is a button to "remove all".

    As to Dotfolders, +1 to any size limit settings or size or time reminders that could be added to the recycle bin feature without bloating the app but...

    although I understand the desire to limit the number of DOT folders in the root of internal and external storage, those folders allow us to work around some of Google's restrictions, and they serve different purposes, and they can be toggled on or off independently. It may not be wise to put the .recycle folder within another folder which serves a different purpose and could be disabled or deleted, or to put it in a location that non-rooted users cannot access. Some users may use the recycle bin but may never need the .mixplorer folder, and for other users it may be the other way around.

    Another consideration is that the universe of android OS variability regarding file management is bigger and more variable (that is to say sloppy and inconsistent) than that of windows, ios, or Linux which do things to keep the inner workings of recycle and trash bins out of sight and protected. On android some of these workarounds with DOT folders maybe the only way to achieve some of these things, such as a recycle bin, in the messy Android universe.

    In a way the purpose served by these additional folders is to do what you suggest, to create "a place for everything and everything in its place".

    In any event, again +1 to any possible enhancements of the presentation possible undo actions, but for the moment, considering the significant changes recently made it might be a good idea for people to explore the functionality of the feature including all available options and buttons, and to confirm that the undo operations are actually successful.

    @HootanParsa, a suggestion for Undo > Remove All: Add a prompt which appears after the "Remove All" button is tapped and which reminds the user that the following action will permanently delete all items in the recycle bin and any changes that have been tracked by the Undo feature.

    Reasoning: In its current form it is fairly easy for users to remove all items from the Recycle Bin/Undo without fully understanding the consequence that action. Yes, it says “remove all”, and “all” means “all” but this is effectively a command to permanently delete items, and since regular file deleting/recycling yields a prompt which reminds the user what action is being taken and gives them a chance to confirm or cancel it, perhaps Undo > Remove all should have an additional prompt of that sort.

    The big massive button REMOVE ALL ..... that I completely missed, Time to book an opticians appointment and get the headlamps tested.

    As far as function goes seems that undo is working as intended, I tested copy/move and rename, also long pressing the file action in the undo menu brings up more details ie rename will show the new name and the old name which is fine for me, one possible refinement would be to remove selected undo actions, ie keep the rename ones but remove copy/move if that makes sense, at the moment its remove all or keep all.

    - With only Recycle Bin enabled then recycled files are sent to the .recycle folder and can be restored manually but there is no apparent option in the menu. The deleted files in the .recycle folder retain their original names but without something like the menu that was used for the old undo function, a user would have to know the file name and search for it or search for all files in the .recycle folder to find the item to restore.

    - With only Undo enabled then after copy or move (or delete) operations, there is a Menu > undo item but invoking it yields toast “no item”.

    - With both Recycle Bin and Undo enabled, then the same as above: after copy or move or delete operations, there is a Menu > undo item but invoking it yields toast “no item”.

    - The .recycle folder (when not deleted between tests) seems to contain the files that were deleted with Recycle Bin enabled, and also seems to contain the folders for the copy/moves (although those folders contain no identifiable files.

    - With both Recycle Bin and Undo disabled, a file that is Deleted via Select > menu > tap delete > acknowledge permanent = is actually deleted and does not force the creation of the. recycle folder. That is good but…

    - Now we get to the drum I may beat until the skin on my hand or the skin of the drum starts to crack. With both Recycle Bin and Undo disabled, Select > long press deletes still creates the .recycle folder and copies the file there. I don’t care what is done with the Recycle Bin because I don’t use it and that it sort the point. I dont use it but it still can happen. Even with all relevant options disabled it is all too easy for an intended delete operation to become a file copy operation into it another folder unbeknownst to the user and not with the scope of familiar locations where it might be discovered. Please give us a way to disable this.

    Notes:

    Remember delete option remained disabled throughout testing.

    .recycle folder was deleted between major test segments,

    BTW @HootanParsa, assuming that both Beta and XDA version might be using the .recycle folder, are there any concerns for people who use Recycle Bin in multiple version of MiX (XDA, Silver, Beta)? This is not of concern to me as I only Recycle Bin in the beta for testing (so there is nothing potentially placed there by the XDA version is at risk) but I was curious about this.

    - 'Remember Delete option' will remember the last selected option in dialog.
    - Uncheck 'Recycle bin' to hide the 'Recycle bin' option in dialog. Then you can only long press on Delete button to send files to recycle bin and delete later.
    - 'Undo' is a separate feature to also be able to undo some other operations. I added this option because I'm afraid the operations in the older devices will become slower. The saved file paths are encrypted.

    The reason for enabling 'Recycle bin' by default is that some users sent me messages (some with F words) about losing their files, because they thought they will go to recycle bin like in the other operating systems.

    If you enable Undo, you will be able to undo operations like Moving, Renaming, Sending to trash/recycle bin and...

    First update the Silver version. You need to gain permission for each app folder you need in /data directory.
