I connect my Mega Account on MiXplorer, but i have a "problem": i have enabled 2FA to the login on my account, and i can't find a way to save the login, so, every time i close MiXplorer and i try to open my Mega folder, i need to insert 2FA code again. Any solution?
Isn't that the whole point of 2FA though?
If you could save it on a device it would be pretty much pointless and just another password. 2FA codes get generated each time you need them and are only valid for like half a minute or something, at least on the few sites where I use 2FA 🤷‍♀️

All the sites that use 2FA give the chance to trust the device, so it would be nice to be able to choose whether to do it in the app as well

So, you don't want to trust the device, just one app on the device?

I think the site has to do something before there is anything Mixplorer can do. And what could the site do? Challenge the app to produce a code they sent you? So you enter the code in Mixplorer, Mixplorer passes it along, but how does Mixplorer identify itself to the site the next time?

all android apps works like this!
if you install facebook, amazon shopping. google accounts, mega, ecc.. apps on android, it will be ask to insert username, password and 2FA code only the first time, because all other times you open the apps, it will be ask to you another secure access like Fingerprint, Face Unlock, Pin, ecc.. So the login will be secure but more fast related to login every time from the browser

I'm almost sure first and third-party apps are not treated the same way, for security reasons.

I think we are talking about different situations.

You describe Google, which has a relation with you. Then you install a Google app, which contacts its home base to confirm your identity. Thereafter, Google trusts that this instance of its app is on a device controlled by the person they know to be you. The fingerprint/face unlock/PIN is all on-device security, to make sure that the app can only be run by the owner of the device.

You are asking for a way for a random app, not written or controlled by Mega, to convince Mega of your identity. I can imagine you giving Mixplorer access to your SMS capability, and Mixplorer then being able to respond to a 2FA challenge when it tries to connect to Mega. That would require SMS capability on the device running Mixplorer -- you might have that on your phone, I do not have that on my tablet. I am not aware of this being a standard capability, so I imagine it would be a real headache to implement.

A more practical request might be an option to have Mixplorer keep the connection alive indefinitely. This will cost you data and battery, but spare you having to reauthenticate. And Mega might object.

While it may be an option, doing it like this essentially means 2FA becomes entirely meaningless.

Especially because none of those methods mentioned are really secure anyway.
Fingerprint - better than the others, but has flaws
Face Unlock - easy to circumvent
PIN - in case there is no entering limit, easy to brute force.
Takes 40 seconds for a 4 digit PIN

Sooo...

Is anyone else having issues with text files in Termux directory getting "messed up" on save? For example, if I try to edit and save a script in the Termux SAF directory and then open it again, it ends up adding extra lines at the end which are some sort of mish-mash of the last lines in the intended text, like it glitched out in the end.

It's an Android bug : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...y-featured-file-manager.1523691/post-85349913

Edit : Try to avoid using SAF, unless / until the application in question has a workaround for the bug or implements its own file chooser. Don't hold your breath waiting for Google to fix this. It's critical, as it corrupts data, but they couldn't care less.

Moto G
Redmi 9A
Another MiX Player issue
The loop / shuffle icons do not change appearance when pressed, thus making it unclear if, for example, shuffle is active or inactive.
Or if it is set to loop in some way or not.

I thought it was a custom theme issue, so I was surprised it also happened with all MiX default themes.

I swear MiX Player's shuffle / loop buttons would change color/transparency when pressed (from dark grey to white, for ex.). Has it changed or is it a false memory (thinking of some other player)?

Happens on both my old MotoG 2013 (Falcon) running LineageOS (Android 7.1.1) using the latest possible MiX version (the RC) and my Xiaomi Redmi 9A running latest stable MIUI 12 (same MiX version)

Neither phone makes use of custom themes or dark mode that could affect the appearance of MiXplorer.

How to make termux open current dir when using open in terminal option ??

This is not a mere search nag but there has been some recent discussion about termux in MiX which IIRC seemed to be a work in progress at the time... and termux is a distinct search term. Checking those posts might be informative.

Is this a bug?
Whenever I minimize the app, it dissappears from my recent apps, it is a pain to open it every time... idk if this is in a setting or what, please help. This never happened until now, it suddenly dissppears so what I did was export my settings and clear the app data, it works again, but I am sure it will happen again

Another is I cannot log in to OneDrive, it says wrong password but it works fine in my mobile browsers (I am using Mixplorer Silver)

Some apps are indeed designed to discard the activity from recents when the app is closed by back button or perhaps more common by an internal exit button in the app. For example bubble UPnP server, but as far as I know this is not normal behavior for MiX nor is there a setting for it.

That being said there is a glitch in the Android OS which I've seen on many Android 10 and Android 11 devices which sounds similar to what you experienced. When I exit an app by the back button and then quickly press the recents button then the app that I just exited seems to disappear from recents but then when the recent panel is closed and then opened again the app appears again in recents and can be swiped away. Your situation sounds a little bit different so just take that for what it is worth. There are other reasons why an app might be "killed" or dumped out of memory but without more details it might not be productive to take guesses about that. You might want to log an instance of this with MiX' built-in logging to see if that reveals any clues. You can see more details about logging in post 7 of the FAQ.

So there is ongoing fix for it ??
Because latest rc build still not opening current working directory
Also hotan is inactive for quite few months

I can't speak to the state of this myself which is why I referred you to the most recent conversation which does seem to imply that this is a work in progress. Since you use termux you might be able to interpret the content of those posts better than I can. As to the developer's absence, yes they have been gone for some time but this has happened before so we just need to be patient (and hope everything is okay with them even apart from app development).

Yeah we hope so that Hotan is wellbut I noticed it before as if Hotan has seasonal activity
He appears active here on xda daily while a build is in progress then after releasing final update he took quite long vacation
But this time he disappeared even before releasing final update so hope he is ok

The search is too slow (recursive search)at least in comparison with mt manager....i mean its too too slow...the overall package is really good...
Thank you dev for this wonderful all in one manager...
    Please consider my problem...

Are you searching from root of device? If so please note that search from root no longer works at all in some cases. Even in the past when it did work it took a long time for good reason. This is not to say that there is no issue but without knowing what you are searching for and where, and without knowing details about the device such as the size of the drive and the root status among other things, a problem has not been clearly demonstrated yet.

Well you removed all g services...i just disabled documentsui ...i didn't delete a single file....
And i granted the storage access through app info...it works for me...and if an app requires some file...instead of failing to open it(due to documentsui being disabled) i get a pop up asking for which app should i choose to open/select the respective file...

Google services have nothing to do with Android itself. What version of Android are you using, and is it an OEM modified one ?

Edit : Let's put it this way, the part of Android that allows you to select an application for something, same as the file picker, is its pseudo file manager. The only explanation I can see is that when you think you disable it, it is not really disabled at all. Unless there's some alternative OEM framework for this in your system. Or, it's an old Android version before Google got stupid and obsessed with permissions and storage limits.
    2
Sorry i forgot to mention that my device is rooted ....i disabled the documents sui package through adb(su)
I can still give storage access to apps..except for the data and obb folder..for obvious reasons

I am rooted, have no Google frameworks or software, and even removed ( not disabled, removed ) NFC, Bluetooth, system WebView, etc. But the OS is not working properly if you remove its pseudo file manager / picker, and most applications that require it will fail. MiX or any other file manager can not supplant it -- You can set storage permissions with MiX ? How ?

Yeah i was searching from root...i was searching for a file...

But my issue is that it is also slow(too slow) in internal storage search compared to other file manager(mt manager in my case)..

The device i am using is realme 6 pro(rooted)..
    Running realme ui2.0(Android 11)
    6GBRam 128GB(Disk)

It successfully searches in the root for files...but takes a heck lot of time.....

This is a problem with mixplorer...as mt manager takes 1/5th(yeah 1/5th)the time taken by mixplorer on an average to give the same search results...

Came to the comparison conclusion after 5 test searches (2 from internal and 3 from root)

There are multiple ways to search for files in Android. The slow and thorough way is to actually physically search the storage device; as MiX would be doing.

The other quick way is to use the results from a (the last) media scan. Using the media scan database / results could return files in seconds (or shorter), however, the results will miss some things or may be behind. Media scanner results are also limited to location that are scanned. Do a comparison of the results and speed in (unscanned) system folder between the two. Check speed and the actual results.

It is the first thing I did, maybe I am not good at it, can you please point me in the right direction ? Thanks for your answer

If you use the path /data/data as search phrase you should be able to find discussion which might clarify whether you are experiencing the same issue and if a particular workaround is applicable. In this thread the answer might be a bit far back so you have to scroll through the search results. There is also a note in the FAQ which may be easier to find using the same search phrase.

[EDIT] I tested a search and it has indeed gotten more difficult to find relevant posts even though some users provided good descriptions and one of those was added to the FAQ, so what you may be looking for is an SU setting change to global name space or something like that. Also this post, which was the only one I could readily find by searching, links to a possible solution provided by the developer of Magisk https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...y-featured-file-manager.1523691/post-85494739

    Can we get highlights
bold ,italic ,mark down effects on mixplorer text editor ??

Regarding text editors I favor minimal text only but I can understand the reasoning for wanting something more highly functional and would be glad to use it if it was added even though I think that is best left to other apps.

I don't however see the reason to keep pinging the developer's name for requests that have been previously discussed (as text editors have been) and which don't relate to bugs, as that may render mentioning the developers name useless. Again, imagine what would happen to the thread if everybody did that in all requests including those which were previously discussed and do not relate to bugs or problems. Would I have to put a mention of you in every one of my posts in order to make my point, @elswerky? :)

BTW, Apart from the (IMO) mild abuse of the mention tag, you've added good feedback to a possible issue about turmux and added to ongoing discussions about text editors. Those are good things and I enjoy engaging on those topics and thank you for contributing to them but not so much when it seems that you are chirping for the developer's attention over more serious issues and over months of other reports. Sometimes it helps to remember that...

"The universe is a big place, perhaps the biggest"

Pardon the OT (and the abstractly philosophical closeout to this rant). I have had either to little or too much coffee this morning.
