MiX XDA version 6.59.1 B23020180 is now available through in app update and at download page.

MiX PDF add-on updated from 1.11 to 1.13 is available at the MiX download page (and probably also in app update) and at Play-store.

The combination of MiX app 6.59.1 and MiX PDF add-on 1.13 does not seem to prompt for PDF add-on compatibility. Confusion about PDF add-on may derive from the fact that it is available for XDA version of MiX via in-app update (or manual install) and at Playstore. This might explain why some people never saw a prompt about mismatched PDF add-on version, as the add-on might have been installed via play store while we were installing or waiting to install the app update manually or by in app updater. Additionally, one of the key points in the most recent app update is related to PDFs. In any event, all parts of the matched set seem to be available at the moment.

After installing MiXplorer_v6.59.1_B23020180, I no longer get the popup to update the PDF addon.

Neither do I, but the PDF add-on on the Mix Google drive is newer than the one I had installed so I updated that too.

Not that I know how to interpret it but this section of the log is interesting:

I downloaded some photos in AVIF format and am pleased MiXplorer could show them. Is there a way for MiXplorer to save an AVIF photo as a JPEG?

Sorry for not attaching the file. It turns out that the XDA site doesn't recognize AVIF files and therefore won't permit them to be uploaded. My MiXplorer (with the Image plugin) does indeed render AVIFs. My interest is in being able to save it but in a different format so that it more accessible to other programs.

You could put the AVIF in a ZIP file -- XDA might allow you to attach a ZIP.

Do you *need* to perform the image format conversion on your phone/tablet? On a PC, Irfanview and gimp (among others) might work. There are also online converter web sites.

(You don't say how many files, how big, whether you can just go back to the source and re-download as JPG.)

Android is a full-fledged OS. On top of whatever graphic applications there may be on Github or various application stores -- and I'm sure there are some with AVIF support, with Termux you have most Linux tools already ported and usable. Just tried ImageMagick to convert an .avif into a .jpg in terminal, took a second, no issues.

1 : pkg install imagemagick

2 : convert file.avif file.jpg

I am looking for an app that can search for files very quickly. I had 2 AndroSearch and Fast Finder. Both worked well but haven't been maintained for many years. My ideal app would be something like Everything https://www.voidtools.com/ on Windows PC. It's extremely fast

The current search is relatively slow.

How long is it taking Mixplorer? How far is that from what you can live with?

Consideration: searches starting at root, can take a very long time because the search will see results along multiple different paths and mount points which go to the same material. Additionally, the way the OS handles mounts and paths, and the size of storage and nature of material in storage can be factors which could increase the time of searches and add variability across different situations. FWIW. I've timed search from root in MiX fairly recently and found that it took 20-25 minutes on a device with 32 GB internal SD and 128 GB external SD, each about 80% full. Depending on what was being sought, in some cases results appeared in a few minutes but in other cases they did not appear until the end of the search. Then let's not forget the android media library and associated databases which do a lot of the work for some types of file searches but can be unreliable; something like that might suit your purposes but the search I referred to is a direct search for the material on the drive without regard to the database.

The type of search you are doing, from root of internal storage or root of external storage, should not take very long in MiX if you are searching for parts of the file name or by suffix or type as long as you are not searching for text within the files which would take longer. Of course, searches on network locations would also take longer. To @J.Michael's point, you should time a highly controlled search performed when there is no other activity on the device and note the specific details of what you did. Maybe there is some way to improve the speed.

this is post is about a problem i encountered when creating a new file, a new folder, or a new symbolic link

Mixplorer is smart enough to remove forward slash aka '/' when pasting the clipboard to be used as a filename, folder name, etc. but it's still keeping colon symbol aka ':' when pasting the clipboard into

so when the clipboard contain smb://serverName:portNumber/Folder/File

and i paste it as the filename, i will get smb:serverName:portNumberFolderFile

i have to manually delete the colons

while the forward slash are automatically removed by MixPlorer

is this intentional by design ?

When transferring files between two android 10 and android 13 stock no root devices and vice-versa with MiXplorer v.6.59.1 B23020180, using the FTP server,

I detected a behavior that was inconsistent with the enabled settings:

more precisely after having set as "work folder" /storage/emulated/0/Download selected "Force use of this folder" and clicked on "Save", the transfers are always concluded at the path /storage/emulated/0/.

Secondly, it also seems that the setting to force a specific folder is not remembered. In fact, re-entering the FTP server settings after having made the "Force use of this folder" and "Save" modification, the box is found unchecked.

Am I doing something wrong or is this behavior normal?
