Don't forget skins overcome theme colors. Skin must be set to default to make full use of theme colors.

Skins can't corrupt themes, that's not possible, and even corrupted themes won't do anything bad except, look bad. What program are you using to handle mit files? I recommend you 7zip

Creating Document Providers = Google's Infinite Loops in a Room Full of Mirrors
(Posted here for additional feedback before becoming a FAQ nugget.)

With thanks again @Testing33 for persistence and @Ultramanoid for coaching, additional methods of selecting document provider have been clarified (in spite of Google having effectively locked us in a room full of mirrors in this regard). I think it’s likely that other people have attempted to report this or done this on their own thinking it was the default. In addition to the wide variation of behavior across different devices, the native file picker may remember which drive was previously selected then in future offer it in a way where users may not even realize there are other options.

The native OS picker in which we navigate to and select a folder to assign document provider offers one item each for internal and external storage. Additionally, it offers MiXplorer specific internal and external storage. If I recall correctly (which is not a certainty on this topic) most people have reported on their attempts to navigate through the OS default drive, but the MiXplorer specific drives can yield different results, in some cases to the successful granting of a document provider at root of internal storage but in other cases, such as external storage on the tested device it can create an inaccessible storage item. Here is the walk-through on a rooted stock moto A11 device which is more restrictive than many others.

01 OS internal.png: This is what might be seen when navigating for document provider to OS internal SD on a device that does not allow selection at top of internal storage but allows some degree of selection in /internal SD/Android. “Use this folder” (root of drive) is greyed out.


02 OS external.png: This is what might be seen when navigating to OS external SD on a device that does not allow selection at top of external storage or anything in /external SD/android/. “Use this folder” (root of drive) is greyed out.


03 MiX external.png: This is what might be seen when navigating through MiXplorer’s external SD card option. This was an incidental discovery made when testing the reported mechanism for internal SD card. Note the incongruity of “can’t load content at the moment” and “use this folder” being live (not greyed out). Proceeding from here may create an inaccessible “phantom” drive and associated bookmark.


04 MiX internal.png: This is what might be seen when navigating through MiXplorer’s internal SD card option and, to the point of @Testing33's (and likely other people’s) reports, this might allow the assignment of document provider at root of internal storage when that is not available by selecting OS internal storage item. Note the list of folders and the live “use this folder” button. This did indeed seem to allow for the successful creation of a document provider on root of internal storage when that was not possible in the native OS internal storage item.


05 MiX Added Storage.png: both the previously described successful attempt to add document provider at root of internal storage and the unsuccessful attempt to add document provider at root of external storage appear as new storage volumes in MiXplorer but not in other apps or parallel versions of MiXplorer. IIRC this does not occur when adding document providers for individual folders but that may depend on the nature of restrictions and document providers on the drive and at the folder. To remove the drives that were created by MiXplorer: MiX app properties > Storage > clear access.

Byproduct of testing: A testimonial to how differently root permissions and document providers might behave on different devices.

Moto G7 power (2019), Android 10, rooted Magisk,
- Stopped receiving OTA update before A11 was released, which may in turn have limited the quantity of newer services and restriction that Google threw at the device.
- Few document providers required. Almost unlimited access.

Moto G Power (2020), Android 11, rooted Magisk,
- While still on A10 this device received services and applets associated with A11 but not specific to A11’s feature set, then it received A11 via OTA (and later security updates).
- Compared to other reports and to a different A11 device which is not even rooted, this is among the most restricted rooted devices I have encountered regarding write permissions.

Moto G Power (2021), Android 11, not rooted, locked bootloader.
- With the available document provider this unrooted nearly out-of-the-box device seems to have greater access than rooted Moto G Power (2020) - without requiring alternate paths (which it could not use anyhow since those paths go through root).

Note, a possible but as yet thin hypothesis for why a slightly older rooted device has less access than a newer unrooted device on A11: There have been phantom storage items and at one point an accumulation of document providers (75) enough to slow MiXplorer upon app start, but those can easily be cleared by MiX app properties > storage clear access. Perhaps the OS on this device experienced something similar, a phantom or conflicted drive, as Google wedged in A11 permissions while it was still on Android 10; possibly compounded by a change in external SD card (although that would not explain the restricted access to internal storage and root).

Can you please add progress bar to music player in notification area

I like how simple mixolorer player is and I prefer it than using separate music player

But I really need progress bar in notifications shows progress with timer showing passed time and remaining time of audio ( like any notification menu of any music player )

Have you tried editing the original theme manually?

If you use MiXplorer to explore the theme's .mit file, you can edit the values in properties.xml and then save the file and import the theme.

Give me the theme file pal and I'll love to use a flashable zip for magisk or recovery from my old friend if he remembered me

I'm sorry to dirty the discussion and annoy you about such a stupid problem, but I've tried everything and I've always failed.. I'm probably retarded. . .

I have read and re-read your answers, I have made many attempts to change the color of the folders, I have even bothered Windows by downloading the theme file for testing:

I emailed it to myself, I installed the default MiX Aztec theme first, which was successfully imported and displayed,
then click on the new file mit MixWhite_MOD.mit downloaded and modified > Import ..........
and I still find myself with the same yellow instead of blue folders.
Curse....

Please, you can also answer me in summary, but step-by-step what exactly do you do to change the color of the folder? Maybe also indicate the name of the theme you modify, so I'll start from that...

That change you will never notice try changing it to something like #ffff00aa and see if it changes.

Hello @kRel, please make sure the folder icon is a drawable otherwise you cannot change the tint color...In any case, if you want, post here your zipped theme and say me what do you want to change. I will repost the edited theme according to your request...but let me some time. I cannot reply quickly....

Here's the explanation! The icon is not drawable!
At least in the MHZH theme.
All the advice I was given did not consider this possibility, removing the suspicion I had and which you confirmed.

We made it ! In my spare time I will do as you suggest. But now I'm exhausted from all these useless attempts...

So my guess was right....

At least in the MHZH theme.
All the advice I was given did not take this possibility into account and removed the suspicion I had and which you confirmed.

Good, my guess was right. Then follow what @Thebear j koss said. Replace the folder.png icon with another one. Change theme extension from .mit to .zip then unzip the folder and replace the folder.png icon inside drawable folder. Then zip again the theme folder and after that rename the extension to .mit.
After restoring .mit extension, in mixplorer click on the theme and import it from the popup menu....

You do NOT need to change the extension from .mit to .zip! You can work directly on the .mit file, with MiX (and Photo Editor android app directly on same device....)

In case these themes are appreciated and the author of the MHZH themes has nothing against it, I can publish here the three .mit files modified as in the images above...

You do NOT need to change the extension from .mit to .zip! You can work directly on the .mit file, with MiX (and Photo Editor android app directly on same device....)

It was just a bit more difficult because some themes allow color modification on images. The ones like fluent that you are using, which I didn't know until a bit ago, uses custom images instead of colorized images. And yes you don't need to change file extension but not every archive viewer that people use recognize .mit extensions.
