Sorry if this has already been discussed but I have a question and/or inquiry for a new feature. Is there a way to compare the contents of folders without having to manually compare files in two separate tabs? I have 2 folders; one has 236 files, while another has 235. I want to know what the 1 file that's different between the two folders amongst the 235 duplicate files is. Much appreciated.

Loving MiXplorer so far in my initial tests. Been looking for a while for a file explorer that lets you navigate through every image in an SMB share folder via direct links. Not sure if this is the proper place to put suggestions, but I have one for the image viewer module. Is there any way of having a toggleable setting (for those that prefer it off) to have a tap of the left or right side of the screen when viewing an image go to the next or previous image respectively? With no animation, just a hard cut to next/previous image. The image viewer I've been using previously has that feature and its super nice. Adding that would make this app perfect for me. Appreciate the work!

What I suggested is just simple and won't bloat main core app as I think
I just requested (music) progress bar in notification
And hootan thankfully added it ,, it just needs fixing of some bugs related to it

And wanted notification of media player of mixplorer to be expandable by default to show progress bar without having to expand the notification of player

Which I don't think these suggestions will bloat core app

How this "Hootan added it"? I do not see music progess bar in notification, regardless if expanded. v6.61.6 in LineageOS 18.1.
(I think it makes sense, progess bar already exists, I think for copying. And in ESpying Explorer, good reference.)

For some reason, I have another problem I mentioned before, but now I see that not all have it: if I select few songs and OPEN with Mix player (withou the playlist), after 1st music file finishes, 2nd one does not start at all, just staying on 1/2.
I couldn't check if the same problem would be with playlist, as I didn't figure out how to use playlist.

And to add here from my older post: would be nice to somehow "add to playing". Like, if 2 songs play to just add 3rd in the queue/list.

Oh wow, I feel kinda dumb haha. You're right! It is already implemented, its just at the very far edge of the screen. Just a lot farther than I'm used to. Works in both directions as well, nice!

Only other thing, I could hope for is for a no animation option specifically for swapping between pictures in the image viewer, but I can work emulate that by disabling animations entirely in the file explorer. Just means I don't get any animations anywhere lol. Disregard my suggestion!

This does not speak directly to your request (which I like) but to make it easier to do visually and manually: View > Options > Full dual Panel = enabled. This will let you view different folders (or the same folder in 2) separate side-by-side columns which scroll independently. By sorting various ways and scrolling both file lists simultaneously it may be possible to isolate the odd additional file. Sorting by size can help isolate hidden or corrupt zero size files or large caches at the beginning or end of the list. Sorting by type can help find oddities at the boundary between expected file types.

Until just now I did not realize that full dual panel worked in portrait view; I love it for comparisons of shorter lists and for looking at different parts of the content of one directory but to the point of your request, it would be nice to have a search or comparison result which reports the differences between 2 directories.

The following command does a recursive comparison — i.e. it also compares any folder within the specified ones — and returns the differences, if any, in a sorted list under STDOUT. For the sake of simplicity*, place both folders in the same directory (folder) and proceed from within that directory.

- 3dot menu (in address bar) > Execute
- Enter the following command, replacing folder1 and folder2 with their actual names**:

diff -qr 'folder1' 'folder2' | sort

- EXECUTE

* When using absolute paths, that command can be executed from any directory on folders located anywhere on your device.
** If a folder name contains the ' character, use " in the command, or (best practice) rename the folder.

It seems Player works by loading a temporary playlist to read from (the one accessible through 3dot menu > Playlist), which gets populated in two main ways: opening a playlist file (*.m3u) or selecting and opening songs. For the latter, folder sorting mode matters, and if only one song or none is selected, the temporary playlist will include all audio files in the folder which contains the opened song.

You can reorder the list by dragging the icon next to each song name (avoid moving the current song). SAVE will update the temporary playlist, while COPY TO... will save it to a playlist file.

NOW, regarding your problem: unless you enable Loop or Loop All, Player always stops at the end of the current song. Loop repeats the current song. Loop All extends the loop to include all songs in the loaded playlist.

Hi, i think something is wrong with Telegram bookmark content Uri.
At least in android 8.0.

Actually the content uri points to:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.telegram.messenger/

BUT on android 8.0 telegram has a folder in this path:
/storage/emulated/0/Telegram/
And all videos/images etc. are stored here.

Instead WhatsApp bookmark is correct and points to /storage/emulated/0/WharsApp/

I do not know how breadcrumb retrieves the folders after clicking on telegram bookmark (I mean if it retrieves folders inside that path or has predefined folders). I say that because Telegram has two additional folders: Telegram Audio and Telegram Files that are missing in the breadcrumb from the actual content uri. See picture.
Anyway in this path is missing the cache folder ....
Pheraphs telegram folder changes location with different android versions?

Thank you ,now I see. Doesn't seem intuitive, because if someone selected multiple songs, probably would like to hear them all..once.
With this logic, I think that Loop All should be turned on for temporary playlist.

Yes, but Player only ever uses a temporary playlist, so you're suggesting that Loop All be enabled every time Player launches — I'm not saying it's a bad idea. It actually makes sense. I'm just clarifying my previous entry. Here's the thing, though: you can already do that. Once you enable it, it stays on until you change it to Loop, or Off.

2.- How do I re-enable the SD Card? I'm using Android 6 and I can't find a way to see it again.

This is not a bug but they should improve the way to extract the icon of a split apk (apks, apkm etc) as it creates a temporary file and if I have several temporarily fills the internal memory and causes errors.

There have been significant changes to the server in the past year, including the requirement to create at least one "account" with credentials. The home directory for clients on the server has always been variable depending on how the server was started as well as the server parameters. IIRC, starting server from toolbar will share the currently active directory in MiXplorer on that device and may be what you want. See relevant documentation.

Google has thrown a whole bunch of new hurdles regarding permission, such as scoped storage, since android six but most of those things should not pertain to your device. You could try the alternate version of MiX which specifically mention an older API.

Here is a compilation of material related to the scoped storage issues in newer Android versions. This may not apply to directly you but there are some tips to resetting storage and it might somehow inform your situation.

Also, your post implies that you were at one point able to see the SD card in A6, so think about anything else that may have changed since then, OS updates, changed or reformatted SD card. Testing the same SD card in another device and testing another SD card in the A6 device could be informative. Likewise it is important to know if the OS can even see the card or other file managers can see it. Beyond these things, share a log captured while attempting to access the SD card.
