Solid Explorer seems to default to no authentication. I believe it uses a seperate master password that CAN be enabled if chosen. MiX defaults to REQUIRING authorization and from my reading of the FAQ thread, it seems only Hootan knows how the "advanced settings" are to be uaed. Is it 1's and 0's? Y's and N's? I guess the assumption is we know this? I don't personally.

IIRC, you can use 0s and 1s or Y and N. At one time an attempt was made to describe advanced parameters in the FAQ but it never got past a rudimentary list. That being said most of the items are fairly standard networking parameters which can be otherwise researched. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have a cohesive list but since we don't have that researching them is what we can do.

You may have discovered a glitch (or we just have to reconfigure bookmark in a case like this). That screenshot was taken while an old MiX Gdrive bookmark was reconfigured; after changing that setting (and allowing the requisite google permission along the way) the pattern/fingerprint was no longer requested for that particular bookmark. However for new bookmarks, there is a lock option in the initial configuration panel but it does not appear later as it did for the old bookmark which was reconfigured. You might have to re-create a drive bookmark (including authorization to the google account) and leave that option unchecked.

Note for reliable testing: force close MiXplorer between tests so as not to remain logged in based on previous session (eg if you have one good and one bad bookmark and are switching between the 2 for testing).

As to advanced settings, the Gdrive bookmark will start with the first 8 listed below and will have 2 more when the bookmark is completed.

Hmm... well, you seem to have resolved my issue! When I add the GDrive, there IS a lock option on the setup screen. Not checking it removes the need to unlock. I don't think I would have checked this when adding it before, but it WAS locking and I see no option on the lock screen to disable locking like your example (though it just occurred to me that it MIGHT be invisible in my theme). Not sure if this was a bug or random.

How do I re-enable the SD Card? I'm using Android 6 and I can't find a way to see it again.

I installed MiXplorer_v6.61.6_B23031310.apk on Android 6 and I can confirm that it does not request permission to write on external SD. Write access to external SD is enabled in app permissions settings but MiXplorer can't write, delete, move or modify files stored on external SD card.

Likewise, I would not have enabled the lock, and for the old bookmark it was being requested but for that bookmark alone was offering the ability to disable it.

That is consistent with what I previously described; During the initial configuration of a bookmark there is a setting for that (different from but related to the setting that appears with the fingerprint/pattern request), but after the bookmark is configured there is no way to disable it.

Upon reflection I could see how this could be a necessary result of Google's overbearing "security". I'm totally making this up but hypothetically: Maybe there must be a local lock option present while the bookmark is being configured but then after the Google authorization for the bookmark then that lock is no longer required. That's the only (almost) logical mechanism I can think of. If it's not something like that then maybe HP can give us the option to lock or unlock, but to your point as this was recently discussed this may be how it is... and it is not that difficult to create a new bookmark if we know that is what to do.

There are themers about who might be able to answer that offhand but if you can use some help searching for material on a device with minimal permission restrictions them let me know where to search. Also, coincidentally just now I was cleaning up the Google drive where some of the shared theming documentation resides. I'll check that material for any breakdown of components which might have an answer.

That makes sense to me, but Solid Explorer doesn't seem to require it, which doesn't mean it isn't true.

As I don't use MiX SFTP and not many people have reported on SFTP or IPv6 (the combination of the 2 would involve an even smaller subset of users) it is not documented in the FAQ.

You might be able to find some helpful information by searching the FAQ and this thread for ipv6 and SFTP. Those are distinctive search phrases so I would suggest doing separate searches for each. See my signature for description of how to work around XDA search engine glitch. Based on some test searches done prior to this post you should find some results for SFTP in the FAQ and even more references in this thread. Unfortunately there was no follow-up unless that user but that request to the other thread.

See if you can find more information in the threads and if you cannot then you could share more details including a log and a specific description of the steps you take while capturing the log and any relevant information about the network. By any chance is the device using external SD as internal, AKA adopted storage? In any event,
this might be worth logging and sharing more details of the device (specific ROM, root status etc). A log alone will speak to much of that. Determining how another SD behaves in same device and how the same SD card behaves in other devices can be helpful, but I would suggest starting with a log.

I just found the file but is not meant to be themed (intentionally or not). The image is just a blank placeholder to be overlapped by stock drawer icon (probably directly via Java code). Hope @HootanParsa can change this in the future.

That's now 2 similar reports. I hope this is not a burgeoning issue where newer google services add more restriction on older OS as has occurred with Google and Android TV. A repairable regression in MiX would be more favorable to users (and more work for HP).

The linked post above contains a link to a bunch of material about creating document provider which are required in newer Android versions, but until the developer or a user with first hand experience confirms that they might have any effect on Android 6 I would suggest only trying the few general reset and configuration tips - the ones that are still similar to those in A6.

Previous version of MiXplorer v6.58.5 which i unstalled prior to installing version v6.61.6 had no problems with same SD Card on same Android 6 device.
Before uninstalling old version I deleted all application data then uninstalled it and installed version 6.61.6.
After that it won't show external SD among bookmarks, It did not request permission to write to SD card as all other apps do and old version did at first attempt to access external SD.
MiXplorer can navigate to SD card and see files stored there but can't delete, move or modify the files. In properties there is number 755 for permissions.

Yeah with overlaying of colors on images it's a pain to try and get something to lay over it.

It might have been interesting to see how MiXplorer behaved after an in-line update through which permissions might have persisted as that might help determine if this is an issue with the permissions being reset in general or specifically with new version of MiXplorer but IMO it's not worth testing your way back from the newest version of MiX (yet).

Although A6 is old, it is within the range of devices which MiX tries to support. I think those additional details make an even stronger case for reporting it to the developer with the expected troubleshooting details. With that information the developer may be able to fix it or at least explain why it is that way.

I've messed about with SMB1, FTP and Webdav. I can get FTP mapped in windows 11 but read only. I can get http/webdav working okay in firefox. But i'd really like to browse the phone like a network drive where I can read/write inside the file manager. Is this possible. I've checked the FAQ but i'm fairly new to this all.
