OK. Backup apk is failing for me on android 13. Oneplus 7T Pro crDroid 9.2. Copying apk works fine and always has.

Maybe MiX is having a permissions or some other issue in a cache space other than where the manual test was done. This might be worth logging.

I think they, along with several other shortcuts, were added by MiX. I was able to remove most but these won't go away.

1st: I would I would suggest not trying to delete anything that represents a top level of a drive (whether placed by the OS or placed by an app) before determining the purpose of such items.

2nd: Are you sure those items are related to MiXplorer? typically the MiXplorer items (some of which are required to grant document provider access) will have a label mentioning MiXplorer. Since the ones in your screenshot don't mention MiXplorer, and since they include root which AFAIK is not added by MiXplorer, I would proffer that the OS may be responsible for those. Do they persist when MiXplorer is uninstalled?

Also, tapping the first shortcut crashes Files.

That's the kind of thing that typically occurs when the native file manager or parts thereof are removed, frozen, or modified, but there could be other causes as well. If you can reproduce that crash reliably it is definitely worth logging.

No apparent problem here. How did you do that in the past? Specifically at what point is it now failing, what is the error message or symptom? What has changed since the last time it worked? MiX version? Android version? Root status? Log?

As a screen reader user, I'd like to point out some accessibility issues. They are by no means critical, but some of them do somewhat hurt MiXplorer's usability.
1. In all settings-related views the checkboxes report their state only when checking/unchecking them, not when navigating between them. This makes it impossible to find out their state without checking/unchecking them first.
2. The currently selected tab doesn't report its selected state, unlike the state of selected files/folders, which is reported properly.
Also, there are some unlabeled buttons here and there, esp in the media player and the text editor, but they at least have helpful internal identifiers, although it'd be better to have them labeled correctly.

Is there a possibility to somehow recognize split APKs ? By adding some mark ? So that we know what must be backed up, not just copied.

Related idea, kind request:
Backing up of multiple APKs creates separate MIBs, which normally makes sense (here not related to split APKs).
But, I'd rather see an option to backup multiple selected apps to separate MIBs or all to a single MIB (preferably under the name of 1st selected app, or at least asking for name).
Example is Mix itself with 6 APKs , or a keyboard with multiple plugins .

Note: dedicated app like App Manager asks for this each time,but Mix would be perfectly fine with a general option. Or even better, under long press, similar as apk copy has options.

One more idea, not important, low priority:
In App tab if we press Delete button message is "Not possible!" Maybe it would better to show popup: "Do you want to uninstall app..".

You have most likely installed a wrong theme or skin. Number 1 and 2 works correctly. Restore default theme and check it again...

so I have a retroarch apk file, and want to delete files inside the apk, for example the lib file.

but not deleted, mix creates a random file, if not undo, it will create a random file up to 5gb!

I don't have retroarch.apk but I've tried doing what you tried with a few other apks and there were no issues.

Maybe retroarch is a special case?

Try logging the process.

This has nothing to do with appearance. I'm talking about how screen readers, e. g. TalkBack, speak these controls. BTW, screen readers are special apps for blind/visually impaired users, that allow them to interact with OS/other apps without sight mostly by providing spoken feedback through software speech synthesizers.

In fact the only one thing a little strange to me was "screen reader user". I do not well understood you was speaking about this. Since there are settings for custom skin, where you can change the selected controls color like checkbox or tabs I thought you had a theme/skin with a transparent or not properly setted color. I am sorry, I misunderstood totally your request.

true, i tried on other apk too, and it works fine.

but not with retroarch apk file, it works fine with zarchiver.

I want to replace zarchiver with mix, so I tried the archive feature first.

Zarchiver is an archive manager, MiXplorer is a primarily a file manager that does a lot of other stuff well, but not everything.

To @Spannaa's point, the file in question may require something beyond the typical expectations for an app that is primary a file manager (such as MiXplorer) but if there is some issue with MiXplorer or if the developer intends to support that file type than a log might be helpful to the developer.

OT. I'll take that as reassurance that the core functionality of the OS was not undermined (and I may update one computer to assess Win 11) but with the exception of new window grouping options there is no mechanical change I need. Also, all of the advertised UI changes I specifically don't want so.... Win11 themes on Android it shall be for now.
