In another thread the same user posted "TEŞEKKÜRLER" which seems to mean "thanks" in Turkish, and "evet" seems to mean "yes" in Turkish. That seems more likely than another possibility, a reference to North American salamanders, eg: newts or red efts.

Hi all, I'm asking help for an issue with skin. Since I would try a couple of skins finded here in xda I installed both but soon unisntalled because I was not full satisfied. After launching the app again i notice that I'm no more able to change the color of the folder icons (i mean that icons that you see in the bottom-right of some folders like DCIM, Documents, Music etc.). For some reason is no more possibile to change the color. I try to edit theme from Settings, change skin, uninstall/reinstall app. Nothing works. The first skin I installed must change something that is no more recognized.
I guess I have to delete some files somewhere but I don't know the path.
Any suggestion is appreciated. Regards
I'm using version 6.63.1 B23042510 on crDroid 8.6 (Android 12) and Magisk 26.1. The phone is a Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite.
Edit: another thing that I miss. If I change skin all works fine, except for that icons.

The file with "API29" in its name declares itself as using version 29 of the Android API. Sometimes an app that claims it is targetting an older version of the API is allowed to do something that used to be allowed but is no longer allowed.

Use the file that does not mention API. If you have a problem, like being unable to write to an external SD-card, you can try the other version. Or ask here and see if anyone thinks it will help.

I am far from a MiX skin expert, but I learned enough to modify an existing skin to my liking. I believe there is or was a seperate thread about MiX skinning, it may not be active now. I don't think the icon you are referring to can be modified, but anyone feel free to correct me.

Thank you for reply and for the screenshots. Indeed, for some reason that I'm not aware my folders show icons like in your "Books" screenshot. To me is ok because I prefer default/static icons instead of thumbnails but, as I said, I cannot modify the color, even deleting app cache and data, uninstall and reinstall last MixPlorer. I also try with an older version but no luck.

That icon colour is controlled by tint_icon_signs in both skins and properties.xml of themes.

If you can't change it via the skin editor within MiXplorer or by editing properties.xml the line may be commeted out to disable changing it.

In addition to the @Spannaa answer you could have installed a theme where all icons signs are replaced by blank drawables....
To delete that theme go to:
Settings > more settings > (now scroll down to the end until you see reset button) reset > theme.
Now you can install again yours skins and change the icon sign tint color.

Tap on the theme.mit file in MiXplorer and select Explore.

Also, in the default theme, tint_icon_signs is commented out:

So resetting themes and using a skin that allows tint_icon_signs to be edited should work.

It is impossible what you said. Reset theme remove the theme folder with all the custom theme resources. After reset theme force close Mixplorer (remove from multitasking background list) then restart and apply some skin. Are you sure your skin is not corrupted??

If MiX was easy, it wouldn't be so powerful and fun!

Here is some info still in my brain that may help you, unless I am confused.

MiX themes are stored in mit files. The mit extension can be renamed to zip to extract and edit them. Among various things in the mit file folder is the properties.xml file.

If you haven't, I recommend searching the Android Themes forum on XDA for "MiXplorer", as there are numerous old threads about theming MiX.

I have found the attached PDF very useful, credit to whoever created it!

Thank you, I will take a look tomorrow as I'm bit busy this evening. As I say, all works when I change theme, including icons style, font style etc. except for the color of the icons signs. For example I try this skin. As you can see (in the second screenshot) the default settings is provided with blue color for icons sings. Well, when I install that skin I got red color. Is like some instruction lock the red color for icons signs only.

You make confusion. The link you privide in this post is not a skin. It is a theme. This is the reason. There is a huge difference between theme and skin. For that reason you have not clearly explained the issue in your previous posts. If you after resetting the theme install another theme you cannot change icon sign color from editor because the theme (properties.xml and drawable folder) override the editor. If you are new you need to learn more about theme and skin. Pheraphs some more details are in the mix faq thread...i am not sure but you can take a look into it.

No in settings you find only the installed skins (.mic files), Themes (,mit files) are not listed in settings since every time you install a theme It replace the previous one (If installed).

No in settings you find only the installed skins (.mic files), Themes (,mit files) are not listed in settings since every time you install a theme It replace the previous one (If installed).

When I installed the Material Design theme I can see it in SKINS option but is not 'editable'
