Ok, i want to apologize to everyone. I went back and reread my posts and they are very off putting. So apologies all around.

Mixplorer, for a reason i cannot describe, has a special place in my heart lol and i won't stop using it. It has more features than any other file manager and also has a better layout and is easier to use for me.

With that said, i do want to emphasize that the back gesture override to pull up bookmarks bar should have a way to completely disable that feature. I realize that there are people who use the gesture feature for bookmarks and i don't think it should be removed completely, but an option to turn that specific gesture over ride would be lovely.

Other than that, mixplorer is the best file manager out. And it is being actively developed. Let's all not **** on the software because we all live mixplorer and we would hate if development stopped.

Another thing, that perhaps i could volunteer time to help incorporate, is the theme function/settings. Not that there is anything wrong with theming mix, but the labels for each theme color could use an overhaul. There are a lot of options to change colors of this or that, but i found myself having to set some pretty wild colors just so i could navigate and figure it what setting changed what Element... If that makes sense.

I don't know if y'all ever used #hex theme installer, but it has a lovely function that allows you to long press a setting, and it will show you a pop-up that shows specifically what changing this setting would do. I have mixplorer totally blacked out and it looks amazing, but it took me 3 or 4 days to set it up lol.

But i think the file manager would benefit from users being able to easily theme the app as well, which could draw in more users and maybe more cash flow for the developer. But I could help make images depicting what changing a certain theme setting/color will reflect in the app itself, there were still a few trust i want able to figure out but i have mine setup this enough that i am very satisfied.

But anyway, sorry for being a douche yesterday, there is no excuse for it. I was frustrated for a long time because of that feature but it still is not an excuse for how i acted so again, apologies to everyone here for having to deal with that.

FWIW, I can be a hard-ass (what a shock!) and went back and forth more than I should have, and for that I apologize.

Although I come to the request for slightly different but generally similar reasons and it may be of lower priority to me because my phone case achieves the same purpose, I also would like the ability to disable all edge swipe gestures. As @Spannaa previously mentioned, the current implementation was the result of compromises about which contact area should induce what action (IIRC) but now maybe an additional toggle to disable might be considered. To be clear, I am now (as I was previously) suggesting/giving +1 to: a toggle (not removal of the swipe gesture). In any event, thank you for bring this to light.

after i updated my mixplorer my Home page order mixed up. and i can't fixed it without going back to old version, they changed the way sort works.

after i updated my mixplorer my Home page order mixed up. and i can't fixed it without going back to old version, they changed the way sort works.

I can't play the video. Even if I could I can see that it will be too small for me to see any details. Any chance that you can describe in words how "they" changed the way sort works? And say something about why you can't just pick a different sort option.

I noted this change a couple of builds ago too.
But in your video it is strange you have detailed view icon instead your home view shows a wrapped view. Try also to change view type to wrapped and also there is the possibility to pinch to zoom with two fingers either horizontal and vertical to adjust icons and text size..
If you don't like your changes after pinch to zoom (it is a little tricky to understand how it works) then you can reset your view by clicking again in the view type icon and choose wrapped.
Anyway do not seems an important issue. Probably the developer will implement something in the future to manage the home icons order. It depends also by the icons labels text lenght. For this reason the pinch to zoom feature can help arranging better. Just a suggestion

i also posted about an bug for the detailed view and pinch to zoom i have encounter, it's not working for me, so the whole Home page is a chaos for me.

Yes, I know. In detailed view you have to pinch to zoom over the icons Not on empty space....you pinch in empty space in vertical orientation...this is the reason.

I was able to see the first video but had to download it (and google makes that needlessly complicated). I think I could see some of what you described but as others have mentioned it helps to have a step by step description with the video.

Here is an observation; this may be old news but I don't recall it being mentioned in this discussion: When I sort the default Home screen the drives at the top sort as one group and the content-by-type items sort as another group; placing the drives at the top like that is a fairly common practice. That may not explain your issue, but FWIW that seems to be the default behavior.

[EDIT] This time I listed to the audio while watching the video AI think that Google Drive it at the top with internal and external SD because it is classified as a drive and as you change the sort order it is moving to the top or the bottom of the list of drives rather than the list of other items which sorts separately.

Maybe I'm not properly understanding the issue but that is what seems to be default behavior on my devices.

I'm going to guess that the Home page is like a folder because Mixplorer already had the ability to display the contents of a folder, so that was the easiest way to add a "page" to present to the user.

That's a good question. Although it is common to group drives separately from folders, I don't know why the change was made between versions. Maybe in the past Google Drive was not considered a drive and then in the new version that status was changed so it is now considered a drive. Also, I'm not suggesting either way how this should be handled. I don't even use the homepage; I was merely sharing that observation because it might partially explain what is occurring.

As I previously mentioned I had no problem watching the video although I had to download it first. I'm working through a slow data connection which might have affected streaming, and Google has made changes which make it more difficult to download things, but that is no fault of yours.

Although the bookmarks in the drawer and the links on the homepage are all shortcuts which we use to go to specific locations, the bookmark drawer has different functionality than the file-list window in which we view the homepage. To @J.Michael's point, using the file-list may have been the most practical way to Present a home page to users... which means we can't drag items around to any location outside of the presently assigned sort order, just as we could not do that when looking at a list of folders and files. this is not to argue against the idea of greater configuration control, just to indicate that it may not be so easy. See what the developer has to say.

Xiaomi MiA1 - A12, no system navigation gestures, MiX v6.64.3: pinching on icons, text, or any empty space (either to the right of the text or below the list) makes no difference. I'm able to zoom and/or change the column count in Detailed, Wrapped, Grid, and Gallery views.

Really struggling with the regex syntax on autotasks.

I want to copy all photos from my camera roll but ignore the deleted items that Google Photos does.

So I have filenames like:

"PXL_20230829_234234234.jpeg" and
".trashed-234234234-PXL20230829_23123324.jpeg"

I want to copy the PXL files and not the .trashed files.

When I regex search the folder ^PXL picks up only the non deleted photos.

I'm not sure how to get that synxtax into the autotask?

i use the homepage all the time, my swipe to right is opening homepage which I can access my SD card and my internal storage on my PC also my Google drive and quickly open one of them and do my stuff, what about the left drawer? hmm, the thing is it it's located on the top left corner which means the hardest point of your screen that your thumb reach, you know what I mean right? so the homepage is the most visited place i go with only one right swipe, and now it is a mess for me, internal storage is your phone storage, it should be on top always with Type Ascending, it doesn't make any sense if any other types of file or folder stay above it by default. i was using the free version. I decide I should get the paid one for the automatic update and supporting the developer, but when used the new version my homepage was ruined. i don't think it's getting fixed. so i should live with it
