Sorry I'm not sure if I used the link for translation correctly. Am I supposed to regist a new account or login with Facebook? I got stuck while login with Facebook. I want to improve some Chinese translation which are misleading. Like keep exposure photos are translated as keep exposure value in hdr

Hello there,

Great app, I've immediately decided to buy the paid version after 5 mins of playing with trial.
One question, though: Is it possible to set shutter speed manually somehow?
I'm using Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime with MIUI 8 (Android 6) and on Bacon Camera app it's possible to set the shutter speed in format like 1/xx.
Would it be possible to do the same in Snap Camera?

Thanks a lot.

Hi I found this, which might be helpful.
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/7-3-2.38963/#post-356757
This is for manual settings

There might be other lines to add to build.prop (xiaomi.eu has rom that enabled camera api 2) for camera api 2

I'm using Mi 5s, so not tested

Preview photo is not working

I installed Snap camera HDR 8.27 Application. However after i take photo when i swipe to review to the left there is only one gray box.
I can’t see any picture in filmstrip mode. After clicking gallery icon on top left everything is working and i can see photos in gallery.
I gave all permissions and tried all settings but can not see taken pictures after swipe. My save location is default (DCIM/kamera) My phone is Samsung C7 and OS is Marsmallow.
I tried old versions but all the same.
I think there is a bug with touchwiz. Has anyone encountered this situation?

My phone supports the Camera2 API because I added the string 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' in build.prop (rootet phone)
After I changed to "Force HAL1" videos are smooth without bad quality.
Furthermore after I changed to "Force HAL1" alle photos and videos are strored without failures (no grey boxes in gallery)

@dzo Hi First of all great app there are some issues even though Auto focus is enabled it doesn't i have to tap to focus, so im now using continuous focus now and the other thing i see lags when i use 1/2 sec Shutter speed but not in Miui stock cam, i think in Miui cam it doesn't show shutter speed(Exposure) in real time so in viewfinder i don't see any lags can u implement a feature like this My device is Redmi Note 3 Pro...

I hope the topic is present developers and they listen. It would be possible to realize the choice of the shutter priority before iso (with the camera2api mode turned on): with automatic tuning, the delay will be maximized first, and iso will already adjust the brightness of the photo by reducing it. The less iso, the less interference. At the same time, focusing will be carried out with the current exposure parameters and iso.

v.8.3.0
Xiaomi Redmi 3S (land), FW doesn't matter.

UPD: more info and temporary solution

DNG (RAW) files that taken with Camera2api enabled can't be opened in Photoshop or other software.
Only possible convert it to full-size JPG via Easy2Convert RAW to JPG
But editing such jpg of course incorrect.

If switch to "Force HAL1" raw files now can be opened.
But even here bug: photos always tinted in some color which changes with any "Bayer Pattern" value, see screenshot.
Changing other options not helps too.

Same time app FreeDCam produces correct and editable files without cam2api.
Something wrong with metadata?
UPD: yes, it works if import other exif.

Here samples (camera covered) taken by Snap with cam2api and FreeDCam for comparison.
Please, can you look into it?

I've enabled 4k and slowmo video for the Note 3 and S4 and this should work on the S5 too but I don't have one to test.
Could somebody with a Galaxy S5 try the attached and let me know if it works. Thanks.

Hello, I'm trying to capture decent night time video of the Whitehouse on the N4 6.0 while also projecting... like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY1vs7j792o

I used youtube's auto image optimizing to make the WH visible.
Any ideas on what's best for this kind of footage?
1) Snap (I've bought the pro and just signed up to be a tester) @ 1080p
2) Stock @ 4k
3) Stock @ 1080p HDR
4)FV-5 or Open camera?
Help is greatly appreciated. I've read Menneisyys's articles a number of times, but I'm still amateur hour at best.
These are some of the images... any advice on how to get them to be better?

I didn't enable it for the note 4 but there might be some settings that work. Try setting video quality to 1080p, video size to 3840*2160, video preview size to video, video bitrate 48Mbps, Samsung camera mode on. Let me know what happens with these settings, thanks.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app

Note 4 rooted N seems to accept the settings. Will report back. Thank you
Yep, it's definitely working. Looking great!!!

Blackview bv 6000 and video

Hi there,
I have the latest paid version of snapcamera and it worked perfectly with my old Motorola Moto g2 however i recently switched to a Blackview BV 6000 (running MM 6) and the video is behaving really strange.
When i start to record it looks very grainy and the real time recording is choppy. When i play it back it is jumping fast and slow and again very grainy...
Not sure what settings i should be adjusting here to try to see an improvement.
The stock video camera works just fine.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions :)

Hello,
I was wondering if it's possible to somehow export settings for profiles (P1,P2,P3...)?
When you click " Other -> Save Settings ", does it save all profiles or only the selected one, and where are the settings stored?

I try searching the thread but the last post about that was in 2013.
I'm using Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime which is NOT rooted.

    De-Noise settings.jpg

New discovery !! de-noise on VIDEO

    I share this new finding.
By default SnapCamera produces video with a lot of noise, this is because the "de-noise" value is set to "off" and cannot be chosen in the "settings".
Well, you can add to "Extra Parameters" by typing "de-noise = on"
ATTENTION: "de-noise" in photo mode (which is in the settings) must also be ON.

This is a thread to discuss my camera app.

It's a modified Android camera/gallery/editor with many features for Android 4.0+ (an older version also runs on 2.3).

Now with full 4K video recording on the Nexus 5 (3840x2160) , see this post:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57672891&postcount=2405

It's available on the play store for about US$2.

I really want it to work on as many different devices as possible so let me know how you get on with it.
    The app is here:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap

See the website for tips and FAQs:

    http://www.marginz.co.nz/snap

Attached to this post will be the latest release and/or beta test, if you have purchased the app you can install this to test.

If you haven't purchased the app you can still install this but it will only work if you do not have a network connection on your device (wifi or mobile data).

If you have bought the app but want some extra features you can get the beta from the play store here:

    https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.marginz.snap

You can opt out of the beta at any time by visiting this link again.

    Planet earth calling @dzo, over...

Apologies for not reading this thread recently, I've been really busy improving the app. (v8.0.0 in this thread and on the play store)
I've spent the last month completely rewriting the HDR code and I think it's much better now.
There's not a single line of code left from the old HDR, and it now uses Halide (http://halide-lang.org/).
I've also updated the Low Light processing (Camera2 only) to align and merge up to 32 frames. You can use it in good lighting conditions for noise removal too. 32 frames will be slow to process so 8 or 16 is more sensible most of the time.
The new code runs great on a Nexus 5 but is noticeably slower on a 5x, I'll look into this but it's probably a hardware limitation.
There may well be bugs in this new release, it's still a bit experimental.
    Thanks.

    4K video on Nexus 5

I've just published a new beta with one exciting early Xmas present for Nexus 5 owners.
The app now supports 4K video, yes you can record full 3840x2160 UHD video (only on Nexus 5).
I've put a very brief demo video on youtube.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjpFXIDaGxI
It's still experimental but it does work, I'm pretty sure no other app lets you do this.
To try it, switch on the camera2 API and opengles 2.0 settings (in the "Other" menu) and two new entries will appear for video quality, 4K and 3.5K.
    4K is 3840x2160 and 3.5K is 3264x1836.
It runs at about 28fps at 4K and 30fps at 3.5K, the default bitrate is 48MBps but you can change this if you want.
The sensor on the Nexus 5 is 3264x2448 so it uses the GPU to crop and interpolate to the full 4K size.
Pushing all those pixels around is very taxing on the hardware so don't expect the battery to last long while you are filming!
I've only just got this to work and it is experimental, it may crash sometimes so please don't rely on it for recording important events.
I don't actually have a 4K TV so I haven't seen what the output really looks like at full resolution, let me know.
    Thanks and Merry Xmas.

Is the camera dev given up with it ??
Absolutely not, I've been away for a couple of weeks but will release a new beta soon.

I've just put a new beta release on the play store and in the first post here. The biggest change is that there's now an optional mode dial that appears bottom right on the screen. This lets you have multiple configurations and easily switch to raw and manual as well as some useful scene modes. This is what the modes do:

P1,P2 and P3 are fully programmable and keep their settings when you close the app. P1 should be your existing settings (although a few now apply to every mode and will be reset to their defaults).
RAW, M and HDR are also individually programmable but will always enable the selected mode.
A (Auto) uses the default settings and you can change them but they will be reset when you switch mode or exit the app with the back button (but not if you switch briefly to a different app with the home or recent apps buttons).
The scene modes are the same as A but enable the selected scene mode.

The dial is usable when small but you can also tap on the centre to make it larger. Tap again to make it small. Long press to bring up an arc menu bottom right.

This is still a bit experimental and you can disable it if you don't like it.
Recent Samsung phones don't have any scene modes, they will still appear on the dial but only the focus mode will change.
Let me know if you have any problems.

    Thanks and Happy Xmas.
