1.1 No go on Nexus one :(

I have a stock 2.3.3 N1 not rooted. I first tried 1.0 and it came up with an error saying failed to extract something. I have now tried 1.1 and it opens fine but when you press root device the rooting simply never completes. It stays on the exploiting screen forever - it never brings up an error or reboots - nothing. Just stays there endlessly. :(

@darkeingel how did you get this to work on yours?

Hi there. Thanks for the root, but there is a problem. I have a Xperia Play. After the reboot i miss most of my app-shortcuts in my Launcher. When i open the market and try to open the apps, it works, but there are no links/icons anymore in my launcher?!

Before rooting, i applied this nice little "trick":

http://androidforums.com/desire-tip...ed-device-noobs-guide-updated-09-02-11-a.html

Is there a conflict between these 2 methods?

Any fix for my problem?

Edit: Never mind....after a second reboot everything is fine :) Thanks :)
Sry for quoting my own post, but after another reboot, i miss most of my app-icons again.

I noticed that my device boots much faster after root. Before root it took about 3 minutes, now it takes half the time. Seems like my phone is doing something like a "fast boot", so after the UI loads it wont recognize all apps i have installed and dont put the icons in the drawer. Maybe some ideas to fix this?

I had the same problem on Play, try to unmount then re-mount the sd-card, everything should be fixed after that.

I'm having the exact same problem with my stock Nexus One. I've let it run for 15 minutes rebooted and tried again three times without success.

USB debugging is enabled I've even double checked that it works from Eclipse.

Does the size of the SD card matter in any way? (I'm using a 32GB SD card)

Apk won't install on N1 using ASTRO

Hi guys,

Both apk versions, 1.0 and 1.1, won't even install on my N1 (S-ON, OTA 2.3.3). While using the ASTRO app-manger the install button seems deactivated - nothing happens while pressing it. There is also no feedback, that is the colour of the button doesn't change either. The cancel button works.

My N1 was rooted bofore the OTA 2.3.3 and I still have the Superuser installed.

Cheers

1.10 Works on DX that was running unrooted 2.3.3

Thanks Chains! I pulled the battery on my DX prior to installing the root exploit, just to be certain the phone was stable. I installed it, ran the root process, and about 15 seconds later it rebooted. It came back up and hung out on the Droid eye for too long (hang-up), so I pulled the battery and started it back up. It came up with no issues and root was intact! I just ran Titanium Backup and Root Explorer and verified root level access within both. The contents of my SD card remained intact, so the 1.10 version worked flawlessly! Thanks again!!!

Sorry, it wasn't OTA. It was manual installation of the rom leaked by google.

AT&T Atrix updated 4.1.57 lost root before. Now rooted with Gingerbreak, SU access and Titanium backup completed.

I sideloaded the apk with Android Central Sideload Wonder Machine.

Thanks!

djnoicatse, did you have to unlock your bootloader? Did it wipe all the data? My bootloader is locked and I would like to root without unlocking it and loosing everything...
