Hey guys,

Because there seems to be no simple, functional and easy to use remote control for windows media center on windows mobile devices out there, I've decided to build my own. The software uses VMC Controller to connect to Windows Media Center, enabling basic control of the following functions, as well as displaying media info (see screenshots below):
-menu navigation
-play/pause, next/previous, skip/rewind
-volume control
-playback position seeking
-tv channel up/down
-entering text for searching through media lists

As its still in the beta stage, there will be bugs, so i need testers to trial it on their handsets, providing feedback and suggestions. This latest release adds automatic listing of PCs which are running Windows Media Center with VMC Controller installed, as well as better QVGA support. Support for media extenders and disabling sleep mode are still in development, and may be included in a future release.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
-Windows Vista or 7 - editions with Windows Media Center
-VMC Controller
-Wifi, Bluetooth/USB activesync connection
-Windows Mobile 6.x Pro, (may work on older versions)
-480x800 (WVGA), 240x320 (QVGA) screen resolution
-.NETCFv3.5 installed on handset

Version .7b

Using Touch Pro2, this version is stable for me, been playing with it for awhile and has not had a lock up. Overall it is working well. I have two media center PC's so being able to access both is great. It took me awhile to figure out that I needed to uncheck automatically connect so I could choose which one to connect to.

I am still having trouble with my Wifi logging out or something, when I go to connections it shows a lock so I have to connect each time. I tried the Advanced Configuration Tool but that did not do it, I will try the Registry Settiing next.

Feature request: I would like to be able to start a Playlist, or start Play All Music, or Play Favorites from your menu. That way I do not need to have the TV on if I am just listening to music.

Great AP! The hard arrow keys, enter and backspace work fine.

Thanks

new release is up... let me know what you think!

This is definitely huge! I've been using all sorts of workarounds to control MCE, but it doesn't get much better than a MCE specific app. I can't wait to see this program out of beta. Also any chance to launch some sort of bluetooth compatibility (maybe over serial Edit: or TCIP over ActiveSync BT connection)? This way our phones can last the movie as well as the rest of the day.
