This is more than great news @dhemker and highly appreciated.

Would love to have this maintained and usable, not expecting any major new features (they are welcome, of course ).

Are you planning to upload the apk into APKMirror as well or maintain only in Github?

I currently uploaded a new release v1.1.0 with a big improvement: now you can directly download and install apps from APKMirror
Also, the self-updater works now, so users should get a notification to download new version v.1.1.0
@tjsuominen yes, that could be a cool thing. But for now it is self-updating. As long as you download APKGrabber one time, the self updater notifies you.

I readapted APKUpdater with new signatures as APKGrabber, so updates can be installed seamlessly. See https://github.com/hemker/apkgrabber/

• Enhanced APKMirror handling: now apks can be downloaded and installed directly

I actually preferred tapping the APKMIRROR button to go to the page. Most of the time the wrong version appears in the app, so I have to go to the page to download the right one. Could you add the option for both?

Two minor requests (when downloading the updates = after clicking e.g. APKMirror link):

1) indicate somehow in the UI that download is in progress (otherwise there's no indication of something in progress...)
2) After installation completed /app > have option to auto-refresh the "Updates (x) list?

You are right & I am sorry. I meant APKGrabber.
I am not sure if it has a separate thread. If it has one, I will report there.

I'm going to open a new thread tonight. @hbr_in this is OK, because I did not upload my signature keys to Google. That's basically the idea of a non-Google "appstore"

And directly downloading from ApkMirror is against their ToS.

something must be done with name and version as well,
file name needs change and version change isn't recognized by titanium backup for some reason,
it doesn't backup the new apk, it keeps the same each time I have to delete the backup and
create (as) new

I backed it up a couple hours ago and didn't notice any problem while doing it.
