Because the original is not working properly?

3.3.3 works just fine.

The question is if that's modified so it won't update will the pro license still work.

To all those cry-babies: Version 4 works just as fine as I've expected after using apex for years.. Whenever devs ask you to clean install xposed installer or magisk manager (for a good reason) you just shy away and comply, but when your pathetic hell-o kitty desktop gets messed up, you start bashing until devs quit their efforts (FOR FREE) just widicuwous..

Maybe the features you use work, but a lot of functionality was removed/broken.

Personally I hate the vertical app drawer and that's all 4.0 offers. That's reason enough to not use 4.0

And not only do old backups not work, it erases them.

But 5 screens of apps, folders and widgets broken. Days later I still notice stuff missing when I go to use it.

This is worse than when TapaTalk broke their app. At least there you could revert and not lose your setup. It took months for them to get it reasonable usable again.

No I did not change the app signature, I just went to the Play Store after installing the 3.3.3 apk and pulled up the new Apex update and set it not to update.

So you'll be bombarded with notifications about updates. And then you accidentally hit update all when you are careless.

Did that one time to many and started changing apps to prevent the updates from being offered.

Well I'm so glad your experience applies to everyone!

Complaining about losing an icon arrangement is one thing, but there are a plethora of bugs out there for this software. At any rate, there is zero communication from the developer, so he/she cannot but expect to hear complaints when people unexpectedly lose their stuff. It doesn't take much to keep people in the loop.

Apex 4.01. Why did you remove the multi app drawers option?
At least provide the possibility to have one sorted alphabetically and one sorted by install date. Provide the means to navigate between both.

Has anyone figured out a way to have the notification badge for emails show on the Inbox app? Version 3.x.x could but afaik the 4.x.x only supports Gmail... disappointing...

Apex completely ruined their launcher with v4. It is just awful. A very bad, extremely buggy piece of software. V3.3.3 was excellent. My favorite launcher by far. Does anyone know what happened? Was the software taken over by a bunch of incompetent programmers? Did Apex purposefully commit suicide? Was the release an unintended mistake? Is Apex going to to fix this or not? Any insight would be appreciated.

Looks good and glad developers have kept up the good work for so long..

As to post above.. I have have set my own wallpapers using it..working for me..maybe look at what I your file type..also try to set it with other wallpaper setters and see if it sticks.. I have a ton transfered over from the P9 and they all work well..

How to reduce number of HomeScreens and define default startup HomeScreen?

Currently I have 6 HomeScreens. 3 of them are empty.

How can I reduce the number of HomeScreens?

I found no option (any more) for this in newest Apex v4.

Furthermore I would like to tell Apex to go automatically immediately to HomeScreen number 3 after re-login.

Currently it always shows number 1.

How can I re-define default HomeScreen?

App Drawer Problem

I have been using Apex Launcher for years on my various tablets (thanks !!!!). I just got a new tablet, a Teclast T20, running Android 7.1.1.

My problem is with the Apex App Drawer. No matter what I set the App Drawer Layout (Grid) to be, in terms of number of rows and number of columns, the App Drawer itself always remains 5 rows and 6 columns. For example, if I set it to be 8 columns, the App Drawer itself will still display only 6 columns. I set it to be 4 columns, the App Drawer still displays 6 columns. Let me add that the App Drawer preview image, shown at the top of the settings screen, will show the correct number columns as per settings.

I tried restarting the launcher. Didn't help. I tried rebooting my tablet. Didn't help. I was just trying to see if it needs something like this to "take" changes.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some other setting (somewhere) that is forcing the App Drawer to display only 6 columns? Is this a bug?

Hi,

Similar to above : I can't create Web page short cuts using Chrome and 'add to homescreen'.

If I check the tablets default launcher the short cut is there but nothing on apex.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Got to ask the question on Apex..

After changing to the quickpic alternative here in the threads because of the leaks from the company behind the app..

I have been using lumen to check on a few others..
As the screen shot shows Apex is using Chinese based servers and sending data back..

Anyone else checked on why it would want to use just as much data collection as say AliExpress..(which of course we know if you are going to use you are going to get slammed with backend leakage. Kinda why I use it and then uninstall it).
