Just looked on the Play Store. "Classic" is version v3.3.3. I just never upgraded to v4.0.0 after hearing about it.
Edit: seems "Classic" version is full of ads and other garbage from what I'm seeing on Play Store.

It's actually "3.4.0" or "3.3.4" now but they didn't change the description. And that's when the adds started.
After some advise on the following:
f I try to 'add to home screen' a Web page shortcut from Chrome the shortcut does not appear in Apex
If I change to the default launcher they do appear.
Is there a setting I'm missing?

After paying and almost 8 years of using this launcher, I'm throwing in the towel. it has turned into a POS. Completely different than what it was years ago. Now the app is a placeholder for malware/ads, even on the pro version...

Can you elaborate a little? I've not seen any ads. Do they 'pop up'?
And what malware have you discovered? This all has me worried.

I've never seen any adds either, as for malware that's easy to find out in Linux using wireshark, I call BS

Its very annoying that Apex Notifier does not work although its installed... Don't get any badge notifications... Its really frustrating.... When I press notification badge, a screen pops up where it says "Install apex notifier extension" and when I click on it, it takes me to Play store where it shows its already installed; Uninstall / open.
Don't know what's going on... Apparently, Apex doesn't recognize the extension....
Can anyone plz shed some light on it cause Apex support team doesn't reply my email.... FYI I'm on stock 8.0...

Having problems with tap on widget and shortcuts on LockScreen
I switch recently to a new Smartphone with Android 10 and installed Apex Launcher.
It works except 2 issues:
1.) When I double tap on a widget on my HomeScreen I expected that the underlying App is opened for editing some content.
This is not the case (any more) like in Android 9.
2.) I miss an option in
Settings--->Lockscreen--->Shortcuts
to redefine Shortcuts in the lower left and right corner of my LockScreen.
Are these 2 problems came from Apex Launcher?
How to solve them?

Install as regular app (root not required)

Or you may also copy/download the apk file on your device and install it using Astro etc.
Note: Due to limitations of the Android framework, you won't be able to add widgets from the app drawer without root access. If your device is rooted, please enable the Root Helper via Settings > Advanced settings > Enable Root Helper.
Install as system app (root required)
Code:adb remount adb push ApexLauncher.apk /system/app
Or you may also move the APK file to the /system/app directory manually. Make sure you set the file permission properly. To uninstall, please remove ApexLauncher.apk from /system/app manually.
When Apex Launcher is installed as a system app, the Root Helper will be disabled automatically and the in-drawer widgets feature should work without it. If it doesn't, please reboot your device and try again.
Tips
- Pinch the screen to access screen previews (like Exposé or HTC Sense).
- Long press an icon to drag and drop it over another one to create a folder.
- Long press icons/folders on the desktop and choose edit from the popup menu to customize icons and labels.
- Drag, hover, and drop app icons over the delete button at the top of the screen to quickly uninstall apps.
- Long press an app in the hide apps list to quickly launch that app.
- Switch to single screen wallpaper mode to fix wallpaper zooming issues.
- Enable the Root Helper in advanced settings (root required) to add widgets from the drawer.

- ACCESS_SUPERUSER/BIND_APPWIDGET: Required to add widgets from the drawer (Android 4.0 only).
- CALL_PHONE: Create direct-dial shortcuts on the homescreen.

39Sorry about the faulty v1.3.0 release. We did test it before pushing the update, but the problem occurred in the final export process. It was a configuration issue rather than coding issue, which we did not expect. For those still getting FCs, you may update to the latest version from the web store on your computer. Once the latest version is pushed to your device, it will work again and you will not lose your preferences and data. - Apex Launcher does not collect and send user data without your consent. AppClicks is used for the sole purpose of sorting apps by frequency of use. It does not reset unless you wipe app data or reinstall the app. This is necessary regardless of which sorting option you are using, so that it will just work should you decide to switch to frequency order later. That said, app usage data in this file never leaves your device even though the app has INTERNET permission.
- The network permission is used to send general (non-sensitive) usage information and crash reports. We use Google Analytics to collect minimum usage data (e.g., when you launch or update the app), so you may notice network connection to Google's servers. You may opt-out of usage reporting in the settings, however, this may not be working currently due to a bug introduced when we upgraded to a new version of Google Analytics a few updates ago. This will be fixed in the next update.
