Hi

The updated version still breaks the screen-side-sliding function of Moon reader, mx play. etc.
I think it might be because the system put the AUTOHIDE softkey in the front. Therefore when I slide the side of screen to control functions like brightness control or volume control within the apps, the system put Autohide in the front which makes the moon reader's function not working.

I remember everything worked well in Autohide Ver. 1.8. The 1.x version woulndn't steal the functions from other app away.

Is it possible to fix this bug in the future? thanks.

MX player brightness control not working.*Latest version caused the MX Player brightness gesture control not to working in LG G2. Will be great if it is solve. Have been using it before 4.4.2 upgrade. Update: GMD version 2.4 does not have this problem. But swipe up for triggering is not functioning.

Forgot about that. I will investigate and try to fix now.

Still an issue. Any luck with this?

@StupidIdea I'd like to report a bug (maybe) on HTC One M8 and an annoyance.
1) If one wanted to use this app only to add transparency to the soft keys' bar, on HTC M8's home screen the bottom shortcuts are covered by the soft keys and it is not possible to access them or the app drawer.
2) The "Touch" trigger mode can act as swipe and the "Swipe" trigger mode adds more steps to the process. When I have the "Touch" trigger mode selected, I can swipe from the bottom of the screen and release to instantly press the key I want. Also I can tap the red bar and then tap the key I want. But when I have "Swipe" selected, I have to swipe beyond the height of the soft keys' bar then drag to the key and release. I expected the "Swipe" option to act like the "Touch" option but disable the "touch to show" functionality of the soft keys bar to prevent taps close to the bottom causing the soft keys to show.

Brightness works now. Thanks.

Now some users complain that trigger in new version is "less sensitive" and it is more difficult to show QuickBar. Why I still don't know why but it may be related to the change I did to fix brightness conflict.
Please let me know if anyone is experiencing this issue and could test some test versions.

Seems the same to me. Though now there is always the three dot menu on the right that wasn't always there before.

It looks like it happens only on LG G2. I will revert settings for this device.

Uploaded version 3.1-beta1 on xda. I reverted brightness fix and this version is intended just to LG devices to test that it solves trigger issue. I will add an option in final release if its confirmed. Unfortunately I could not find a middle ground: if I increase trigger priority then brightness in video does not work but when I reduce it default LG google now gesture is conflicting with ahsk trigger.

Uploaded 3.1-beta3.
As suspected trigger problem on LG devices was related to trigger priority. LG implemented google now swipe from top differently than aosp and it is not tied to navigation bar but works even when navigation bar is removed. So it conflicts with ahsk trigger unless I increase trigger priority. But trigger with hight priority disables video brightness adjustment.

Beta 3 just have hight priority trigger but I will add option to switch to low priority before releasing production update. However trigger will be in high priority by default.

Ok, the trigger finally works again with the beta 3.1 on my G2. Can't use my phone anymore with the softkeys alway being on my screen, feels like it is a waste of space and I always close any app if I'm tipping, because I always hit the home button. Thanx for the update.

Still buggy on android 5.1 + Cataclysm ROM

I have tried it on a non stock android 4.3 ROM (Cataclysm), but had crashes of SystemUI upon power on screen and wallpaper resets .

After a couple of years, I tried latest version (v. 3.1), on a non stock android 5.1 ROM ( again Cataclysm ROM).
The same old situation with crashing SystemUI and loosing wallpaper settings, happened again!

P.S.
Nexus 4, Cataclysm ROM

Kind of interesting

I had it installed on my nexus 5 android phone and played with it for a while. It's a nice app to have and sometimes it eases up the life in the particular games. However, the GMD's gesture may not respond in some games/apps which have the same gesture to make in order to do something in there. On the other hand, it seems to be running normal.

It does NOT modify system files. If something unplanned happens, just reboot your device and it will restore your stock navigation bar.

Note: If you don't have root but you have KitKat or Android L you should try: GMD Full Screen Immersive Mode (no root) instead. It uses native KitKat immersive mode. You can find it in PlayStore and XDA.

This app can hide navigation bar without reboot and modifications.
It worth on devices with Phone UI, Phablet UI and devices with hardware keys.
It does not work on Tablet UI.

    Thanks oode for video review:

Well, I'm using my Xperia V, LT25i, Jelly Bean 4.1.2

    - Is soft keys bar hidden ?

Yes but very buggy, reappear randomly and crashing my systemui.apk.

    - Is soft keys bar restored properly when you turn Auto Hide OFF?

Again, very buggy, some times it still disappear

    - Is autohide bar working properly?

    Buggy.

    - Are autohide bar buttons properly sized and aligned?

    No. A little too large.

Uninstalling the app still causes FCs.

    New version 1.0

    New version:
    1.0:
    - Android 4.3 support - notification should hide properly now.
    - Fixed: 'Previous' staying on screen after clicking 'Back'

I'm currently running on 4.3 and the app does its job.
BUT, something wired is going on.. The 3 dot menu no longer appears in all apps, only appears on nav bar. I'm comparing the settings on two devices 4.2 and 4.3 and they're exactly the same, but apps on 4.2 device have 3 dot menu.

Is it software thing or am I doing something wrong??

Its not related to 4.3. Android does not display 'Menu' button in apps when device does not have soft keys, so devices with hardware buttons do not have this button in apps. Each applications check on startup if you have soft keys or not, so if you first start the app and then hide soft keys - you will still see Menu key and if you first hide soft keys and then start app - you won't. And last but not least - you can check 'Spoof Soft keys' in my app. But make sure to do it before you start app with Menu key or restart it properly. Note that 'Spoof' may cause some apps to do not redraw bottom area (navigation bar area), for example wallpaper may not fill all screen with Spoof checked.
Best solution is to get over that Menu button and use Menu in Quick Bar . As I said a lot of devices (like all Galaxy S series and so on) don't have it.

    New dev version 0.99-dev1

    0.99-dev1:
    - Added trigger mode option: SWIPE or TOUCH
    - Added option: Hide Soft Keys. Uncheck it if you have other means to hide soft keys and just want to use Quick NavBar.
    - Improved service life time.
    - Fixed some text labels.

Very nice app. But can we enable the app without hiding the nav bar by the app? Because my rom supports expanded desktop mode and I can use it to hide the nav bar. Using the app to hide the nav bar seems to be a little bit unstable...sometimes it reset the wallpaper or the nav bar doesn't hide on boot.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

    Good idea, implemented

Uploaded to Play Store and XDA:

When we get an update to fix the button freeze? :D

    Should be fixed.

Hi StupidIdea. Firstly, I love the app. I bought the pro version.

My question - Tablet UI isn't supported, but will it ever be? Your app is literally the only thing that keeps me from switching over to it on my Nexus 7. Just curious. Thanks!

I don't have plans for tablet ui yet. but this may change in the future .
