Tablet UI

Hello. I'm running an older PA rom on my Note II, and using the Theme Engine to force display in Tablet UI.

It's great, but I do not need the 3 soft keys on the bottom next to the notification bar since I already have physical keys and PIE. This just crams everything in at the bottom.

Is there any chance that your app will add support for Tablet UI, so that we can hide those pesky soft keys and make more room for the notification panel? Otherwise, this app won't really do anything for me. Thanks for all your hard work.

I'm looking at GMD hide soft keys and GMD immersive, both Pro version. I have a rooted lollipop stock LG G2, and my needs are simple, being able to hide the nav bar when uising gps apps, such as igo and waze. I don't find the nav bar annoying at other cases, but it messed with some of the screen resolution scripts in igo skins. Anyways, which app should I choose? I like the immersive's per app setting, just don't know if hide soft keys app can do the same. First post sounds like GMD hide soft keys is more advanced because of the root requirement, but I honestly did not find the "per app setting" in hide soft keys though. Or can you guys recommend other free alternative to automatically hide nav bar for igo/waze? Thanks a lot.

Hey I have been looking at your apps for my Nexus 6 and 6P

However with root on both it seems to crash the system and then android redraws the lock screen forcing me to pin unlock or pattern unlock or finger print unlock.

System redraws nav bar and or notification bar

I'm using the free versionBeta, as I don't want to pay and have it not work

This is the second time I report this issue and hope OP will actually answer. I'm running CM 13 (thiss issue occurred also in old cm versions) on my HTC One m8. Recent button is misbehaving: when pressed, the app I'm using doesn't appear in recent list or shows at the top and if I try to open it from there, it just says "unable to open the app". This is really annoying me now, especially because I paid for the pro version and because OP doesn't care that much apparently. If anyone else wants to share any suggestions on how to fix this, you'll be more than welcome.

Reporting here that I'm for 99% convinced GMD AHSK (latest) causes SystemUI crashes (which for some reason causes a complete reboot as well, but that's device/ROM/kernel-related) on the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet WiFi (SGP712, karin_windy), Android 5.0.2 stock rooted.

I have bought the app and it's the reason I unlocked my bootloader and rooted, so it'd be nice if this was looked into.

Hi friends on htc m9 with marshmallow works everything absolutely fine. But one thing is really bad for my daily using and that's sofkeys are hidding when locked my phone. I need to do my finger swype up movement to rise it up after each unlock my device. Is here any ability to don't hidden it?

I have a little problem on Xperia Z3 Compact (rooted Android 4.4.4 Kitkat) , when I open Xperia Phone app, I can't see green call button under dialer. BUT when I turn phone to landcape mode, I see this button on the left side. In normal mode not :-/ . Is this issue solvable? Thank you in advance.

It does NOT modify system files. If something unplanned happens, just reboot your device and it will restore your stock navigation bar.

Note: If you don't have root but you have KitKat or Android L you should try: GMD Full Screen Immersive Mode (no root) instead. It uses native KitKat immersive mode. You can find it in PlayStore and XDA.

This app can hide navigation bar without reboot and modifications.
It worth on devices with Phone UI, Phablet UI and devices with hardware keys.
It does not work on Tablet UI.

Well, I'm using my Xperia V, LT25i, Jelly Bean 4.1.2

    - Is soft keys bar hidden ?

Yes but very buggy, reappear randomly and crashing my systemui.apk.

    - Is soft keys bar restored properly when you turn Auto Hide OFF?

Again, very buggy, some times it still disappear

    - Is autohide bar working properly?

    Buggy.

    - Are autohide bar buttons properly sized and aligned?

    No. A little too large.

Uninstalling the app still causes FCs.

    New version 1.0

    New version:
    1.0:
    - Android 4.3 support - notification should hide properly now.
    - Fixed: 'Previous' staying on screen after clicking 'Back'

I'm currently running on 4.3 and the app does its job.
BUT, something wired is going on.. The 3 dot menu no longer appears in all apps, only appears on nav bar. I'm comparing the settings on two devices 4.2 and 4.3 and they're exactly the same, but apps on 4.2 device have 3 dot menu.

Is it software thing or am I doing something wrong??

Its not related to 4.3. Android does not display 'Menu' button in apps when device does not have soft keys, so devices with hardware buttons do not have this button in apps. Each applications check on startup if you have soft keys or not, so if you first start the app and then hide soft keys - you will still see Menu key and if you first hide soft keys and then start app - you won't. And last but not least - you can check 'Spoof Soft keys' in my app. But make sure to do it before you start app with Menu key or restart it properly. Note that 'Spoof' may cause some apps to do not redraw bottom area (navigation bar area), for example wallpaper may not fill all screen with Spoof checked.
Best solution is to get over that Menu button and use Menu in Quick Bar . As I said a lot of devices (like all Galaxy S series and so on) don't have it.

    New dev version 0.99-dev1

    0.99-dev1:
    - Added trigger mode option: SWIPE or TOUCH
    - Added option: Hide Soft Keys. Uncheck it if you have other means to hide soft keys and just want to use Quick NavBar.
    - Improved service life time.
    - Fixed some text labels.

Very nice app. But can we enable the app without hiding the nav bar by the app? Because my rom supports expanded desktop mode and I can use it to hide the nav bar. Using the app to hide the nav bar seems to be a little bit unstable...sometimes it reset the wallpaper or the nav bar doesn't hide on boot.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

    Good idea, implemented

Uploaded to Play Store and XDA:

    0.96:
    - Quick NavBar animation
    - New ring buttons (similar to Google Now) - Previous, Close All, Screen Off

    - Instant ring button show when swiping up from soft key.
    - Fixed: Quick NavBar not hiding in some rare cases.
    - Fixed: hide Quick NavBar on screen off.

When we get an update to fix the button freeze? :D

    Should be fixed.

Hi StupidIdea. Firstly, I love the app. I bought the pro version.

My question - Tablet UI isn't supported, but will it ever be? Your app is literally the only thing that keeps me from switching over to it on my Nexus 7. Just curious. Thanks!

I don't have plans for tablet ui yet. but this may change in the future .
