Can't protect SideControl from being killed in MIUI

I am on Redmi Note 3 and since SideControl is not visible in open apps list, it cannot be protected from being killed. Can Side Control be tweaked please to make it visible under Open apps on MIUI

This is a must app for me, sadly ever since I bought a new phone (redmi x4) it seems that it doesn't work on MIUI OS. Please take a look on it.
